Study of thin film organic materials thickness
Hegerová, Lucie ; Veselý, Michal (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the determination of thickness and refractive index of thin organic films using image analysis. In the theoretical part there are described principles of the methods, which are used to prepare the films (spin coating, inkjet printing, vapour deposition), the characteristics of thin films, ways of finding out the thickness and refractive index of substances (weight methods, electric methods, method based on measurement of absorption coefficient of light, interference microscopy, ellipsometry) and also image analysis (harmonic and wavelet analysis). Interference microscope Epival - Interpako (Carl Zeiss Jena), digital camera Nikon Coolpix 5400 and computer were used for the determination of thickness and refractive index. The thicknesses of layers were set on the basis of interference images of edges and grooves – both from the side of the metal contact and the side of underlying glass. The refractive indices of thin layers were then set using the recorded figures. In the final part of the thesis there are discussed the results of interference images photographed along the full length of the aluminium contact which are used for measuring electrical characteristics of DPP structures. The produces are thicknesses and refractive indices of individual layers.
Presentation of the result of the US presidential election of 2020 in the media
Hegerová, Lucie ; Konrádová, Marcela (advisor) ; Skalický, Matěj (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with how four selected American media - The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and FOX News reported on the results of the US presidential election in 2020. These elections were by their circumstances (Covid-19 pandemic), the process and subsequent conflicts regarding their results specific in many ways. This text focuses mainly on the topics that the media reported on in connection with the elections, as well as the possible relationship between their political inclination and the way in which they reported on individual candidates. For this purpose, a combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis was used, which allowed the collection of sufficient data for comparison and at the same time capture latent meanings and fundamental context. The author relied on several basic media theories, especially the normative media theory and theories dealing with the effects of the media, specifically those related to news. The thesis also describes the American media market and the process of electing the US President and his functions, which are a context important for understanding the role of the media in informing about the election results and the political situation in the country. The result of the work is a summary of the events concerning the fight for...
Media image of terrorist attacks in the Czech and French media: a comparative analysis
Hegerová, Lucie ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Říchová, Blanka (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with how six selected media report on the issue of terrorist attacks. Three Czech and three French media were included in the research in order to compare the method of information in these two countries. Specifically, MF Dnes, Hospodářské noviny, Právo, Le Figaro, Le Monde and Libération were examined. The method of informing was investigated on the example of three terrorist acts - attacks on trains in Madrid on March 11, 2004, Norwegian attacks in Oslo and on the island of Utøya on July 22. 2011 and the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris on January 7, 2015. The importance of depicting and framing terrorist attacks is also growing with the growing awareness of society and the fact that the reaction of the media and the public today is an indispensable part of the terrorist act, which the perpetrators themselves take into account when planning it. The author asks several questions concerning the thematic agenda of attacks and their framing. A combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis methods was used to answer them, focusing on the frameworks used. The work will then be compared not only at the state level, but also between individual media and specific attacks. The result of the work are findings on the similarities and differences of the method of...
