Synthesis of ceramides with deuterated sphingosine
Havlíčková, Kateřina ; Vávrová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hrabálek, Alexandr (referee)
Ceramides are a complex group of lipids belonging to sphingolipids. They are the most important component of stratum corneum (SC) and thus participate in a barrier function of the skin. In spite of the ceramides are a subject of intensive research, the exact effect of their structure to the barrier function of the skin is poorly understood. For studying the structure, properties and dynamics of SC lipid membranes, analogues of lipids labelled by deuterium are often used. The methods using deuterated molecules include neutron scattering, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance (2 H-NMR) and time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS). This work describes the synthesis of the ceramide with a deuterated sphingosine chain. The acquired ceramides with a different acyl chain length (deuterated as well as non-deuterated) should be used for studying their properties in SC lipid membranes in the future. The synthesis was based on methods commonly used for preparation of non-deuterated analogues of ceramides. The most important step of the synthesis was the incorporation of the deuterated chain into the molecule of sphingosine. The deuterated terminal alkyne was prepared from the perdeuterated bromoalkane. Next the deuterated...
Dentists literacy of non-medical staff
Havlíčková, Kateřina ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Kulhavá, Miluše (referee)
(v AJ) Through the bachelor thesis I open the issue of dental literacy for non-medical health workers. The World Health Organization points out the importance of high health literacy and health education. Therefore, I decided to elaborate the final work on this topic and thus find out the level of dental literacy at various clinics. The theoretical part describes health literacy, anatomy and pathology of oral cavity and current knowledge of literacy in dentistry. The basis for the work I drew mainly on the basis of the research in the National Medical Library. From the catalog of the National Medical Library Medvik, the BMC database (Bibliographia medica čechoslovaca), the specialized databases CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) and MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), from a personal source of professional literature, expert consultation with dental doctors and dental hygienists, own experience and other bachelor theses. The aim of this work is to create an information leaflet to address health professionals in the field of care. Methods: The work was elaborated on the basis of quantitative research by means of anonymous non-standardized questionnaire in printed form. The target group was non-medical health professionals. Objective: The...

Možnosti hodnocení diverzity polních plevelů
Havlíčková, Kateřina
This thesis focuses on the diversity of weed vegetation and possibilities of its evaluati-on. The survey was carried out on fields of Mendel Univesity in Žabčice. Species di-versity was determined in the growth of opium poppy in 2013 and spring barley in 2014. Index of diversity were calculated according to the collected data. Spatial preference of individual weed species was designed by statistical analysis DCA (Detrended Corre-spondence Analysis) and RDA (Redundancy Analysis), processed on the basis of obtai-ned results. A total amount of 27 species was identified in opium poppy and 24 weed species were determined in spring barley. However, the vegetation consisted mostly by individuals of dominant species Echinochloa crus-galli, Chemopodium album and Lamium amplexicaule, in both monitored areas. It was found, that higher species richness are monitored on the edges of the fields, than their midpoints. Diversity of opium poppy was 0.17 and 0.36 of spring barely on experimental fields.
Contemporary Cultural Diplomacy of France
Havlíčková, Kateřina ; Maslowski, Nicolas (advisor) ; Peterková, Jana (referee)
This thesis deals with the contemporary French cultural diplomacy. Its aim is to determine what are the factors shaping this area of French foreign policy to its current form and what amount of resources is the state dedicating to its soft power. For a better understanding of this issue the first chapter explains the concepts of public and cultural diplomacy, the issue of culture and its role in international relations and also the method of financing French cultural diplomacy. The thesis further analyses the activities of the French Institute in Prague as the most prominent cultural institution operating in the Czech Republic and Cinema 35 as its constituent part. Apart from such examples, also other instruments of French cultural diplomacy, such as the French Alliance, the French Research Center in Humanities and Social Sciences, Campus France and the French audiovisual policy are contributing to define the current form of French cultural diplomacy, and are therefore dealt with in the last chapter of this thesis.
