Pressure sensor made 3D structure
Hanus, Martin ; Pekárek, Jan (referee) ; Kosina, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the points at issue of a 3D structure pressure sensor. The pressure sensor converts pressure into another physical quantity which is easier measure and which is processed subsequently. Usually ways of pressure sensing is for example capacitive, strain-gauge and optical. The 3D structures are constructed through the use of a LTCC technology, which can be laminated to create multi-layer structures, compared to standard high-temperature ceramics. Passive circuit components can be applied onto particular ceramic layers using either thin-layer or thick-layer technology. Practice part of thesis deals with several ways of construction a pressure sensor. First of all capacitive, strain-gauge and optical sensor and possible problems with construction individual sensors above all problems with lamination, cavity or burning

Mokruša, Oldřich ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Cimová, Tereza (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the impact of using 3D models in education on students' misconceptions about contours. The main objective of the thesis is to determine whether 3D relief models are a suitable tool for eliminating students' misconceptions when interpreting elevation on topographic maps. To introduce the reader to the context, the terms related to topographic maps, pedagogical constructivism, and the use of 3D models in education are first explained. To achieve the main objective and collect data, closed conceptual tests and educational interventions with the help of three-dimensional models are used. Crucial data is obtained by comparing the results students achieved before the intervention, in the pre-test, and after completing it, in the post-test. This research builds on a series of previous studies that were focused on the issue of misconceptions in interpreting contour lines. One of the outcomes of this thesis is the specifics and process of creating 3D terrain models and worksheets, which serve as teaching tool. The results showed that students' performance and confidence in their answers improved. To draw conclusions, the results are compared with specialized literature concerning the use of 3D models in education. Key words: Contours, misconception, conceptual test, 3D model,...

Students' successfulness and strategies when working with a map and factors affecting them
Havelková, Lenka ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Knecht, Petr (referee) ; Bláha, Jan Daniel (referee)
Nowadays, information is increasingly presented in the form of various graphic materials. One of the key means of information visualisation is a map. Maps are complex representations and it is necessary to comprehend several cartographic concepts and to acquire skills and strategies for their efficient use. For this reason, it is important to give maps sufficient attention in the course of education. For the education to be of high quality, it is fundamental to understand the process of the map use and factors affecting this process and its successfulness. Therefore, the general purpose of the dissertation thesis is to develop this understanding. Specifically, the thesis has four main aims. One of them is to identify a map skill level of Czech students while using thematic maps since the popularity of thematic maps is increasing together with the number of cartographic insufficiencies they contain. These insufficiencies can inter alia cause a formation of misconceptions both about the maps and phenomena and regions they display. The second main aim is to identify and describe strategies that students choose to solve tasks which require the use of a thematic map. Additionally, the sub-aim is to understand the influence of chosen factors on the level of map skills as well as on choice and efficiency...
The use of Mapwork.education app in geography lessons
Králíčková, Anna-Marie ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Měkota, Tomáš (referee)
Map skills need to be developed in geography lessons. At the same time, modern technologies should also be included in teaching. As a result, the online application Mapwork.education was developed to address these needs. As with other didactic tools, it is vital to find out how teachers use this educational tool. This bachelor thesis has been prepared with this general intention in mind. The main aim of the research was to find out how the Mapwork.education application is used in school practice, i.e. in planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data. Respondents were registered app users with a teacher account linked to at least one class with active pupils. That is, pupils who had already completed at least one task in the application. A total of 90 respondents were selected and contacted, of which 23 completed the questionnaire. The research conducted showed that the app is usually used directly in geography classes for individual work of pupils. However, the frequency of its use is limited by the technical equipment of schools. In the process of map skills development, the app serves either as a supplement to other materials or as the main tool for their development. Pupils' level and development of map skills is recorded in the results...

Students' questions about geological map
Flašar, Jan ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Matějka, Dobroslav (referee)
The analysis of student-generated questions (SGQ) is a method to investigate the way of understanding and solving a problem. The style, frequency, type, etc. of the questions can help analyze the target topic, but we can also study differences in understanding and way of thinking among individual groups of respondents. This study was focused on the analysis of the questions generated by high school students working with the geological map of the Czech Republic and the local geological map (map of Prague). The main goal of this study was to find out whether the questions generated by students differ between individual groups of respondents (according to their age, gender, grade, etc.) and whether they differ for individual types of maps. The questions obtained were classified into categories and the frequency of questions in different categories was determined. Furthermore, individual questions were assigned to the corresponding map skills that are necessary for the formulation of the question. Younger students were found to ask significantly more questions about the map display; while older students are also interested in the geological content and the way the map was created. There was also a difference between the geological map of the Czech Republic and Prague. The students were able to obtain...
