Swift trust in work teams
Fritsch, Petra ; Šípová, Ivana (advisor) ; Brousilová, Klára (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on introducing the issue of swift trust, which typically arises in temporary or virtual work teams. Its aim is to map existing knowledge from international sources, place it in the broader context of trust in work environments or team dynamics, and propose research that would extend the current understanding. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on the characteristics and distinctions between work groups and teams. It also examines the typology of work teams to provide a framework for understanding work teams in the context of swift trust. The second chapter briefly introduces the basic theories and concepts of traditional trust. The third chapter provides an overview of the existing knowledge on the construct of swift trust, its definition, and its specifics compared to the traditional concept of trust. The research design in the empirical section targets the assumptions and development of early trusting beliefs in temporarily formed work teams that are physically in the same location and do not exhibit signs of virtuality. This research proposal builds on previous studies by addressing the influence of individual personality as well as early team interactions on the initial level of swift trust and its impact on team...
Victimological aspects in juvenile victims of violent crime
Falátková, Alžběta ; Faberová, Karolína (advisor) ; Brousilová, Klára (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with selected techniques in working with victims of a violent crime. The target group of work is persons younger 18 years. According to Czech law children fall into the category of especially vulnerable victims. The group has specific rights, which is why we present the psychological and legal aspects of working with these victims. The work focuses on procedures reducing the risk of secondary victimization. It describes the methods used in the Czech Republic and abroad and tries to compare them. The most widely used abroad is the NICHD protocol. The protocol seeks to standardize the investigator's procedure and eliminate the suggestibility of the child's testimony. Disputed turned out to be Anatomical dolls, which many authors finds very problematic. In terms of developmental specifics, children between 6 - 12 (Middle childhood) have already well-developed areas of the brain for preserving and recalling memories. However, abstract thinking which is used Cognitive Interview can be problematic. Furthermore, the effort to protect the offender or the lack of understanding of the behaviour and motives of others. In the empirical part of the thesis, we propose research dealing with the phenomenon of ideal victim. The research group consists of criminologists working with a child...
Risk factors for prison service officers
Martinák, Ondřej ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Brousilová, Klára (referee)
This thesis deals with risk factors and potential stressors regarding prison service officers with a primary focus on stress itself, factors of its origin and exact consequences of short-term and long-term stress exposure, which can lead, in extreme cases, to burnout syndrome or post- traumatic stress disorder. Using this information, the thesis identifies potential risk factors in the prison environment, including day-to-day interactions with incarcerated individuals, working hours isolation, social isolation, the problematics of humanisation of the prison environment and the uncertainty of power and leadership. Despite being underestimated in the Czech environment for a long time, it can be expected that these factors have a major impact on the everyday lives of the prison service officers. Due to the fact that this subject is more or less unexplored, the suggested research included in the thesis is aimed at a deeper examination of possible related aspects of these factors as well as improving current knowledge regarding their perception by the prison service officers themselves.
Ground rules used in child interviews
Knapová, Karolína ; Brousilová, Klára (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
This bachelor's thesis introduces the so-called ground rules used in child interviews and the main documents that contain ground rules. There is not much literature regarding this domain in the context of the Czech Republic, so the text covers mainly foreign resources. The theoretical section focuses on the explanation of the principle of ground rules, it describes each of the ground rules, key protocols, and related research results. It also includes a chapter regarding the basics of communication with a child, including many examples. The empirical section introduces a research proposal that aims to describe the effect of ground rules practice by children of lower school age. In particular, whether the practice consequently leads to their more frequent use by the child. The contribution of the research would be empirically supported knowledge of how children practically use ground rules when educated or trained. Furthermore, it will be the first research of this type in the Czech Republic, which would bring closer look at this issue in the Czech environment.
Psychological research: Children's suggestibility in forensic interviewing
Brousilová, Klára ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
Master's thesis follows on bachelor thesis Specifics of children's testimony from the point of view of Psychology, expanding chapter about suggestibility. Theory involves phenomenon of suggestibility with emphasis put on Gudjonsson's concept of suggestibility in conjunction with interrogative events. Further chapters delve into scientific findings regarding hazardous factors enhancing or decreasing suggestibility of young witnesses, among others are age, cognitive and psychosocial factors. Thesis also presents the very own types of discovered and described interrogation techniques utilizing elements of suggestion like stereotype induction, leading questions, positive and negative consequences or peer pressure. Paper presents results of empirical research, reproduced experiment which was used as tool mapping suggestibility dangers among Czech children. Focused on pre-school children subjected to heavily suggestive interrogation about event they experienced, through later interviews it was measured to which extent highly suggestive interviews altered perceived reality.
Specifics of children's testimony from the point of view of psychology
Brousilová, Klára ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Kostelníková, Zuzana (referee)
Presented bachelor thesis is mine attempt at highlighting particularities interrogator is confronted with when a role of witness is fulfilled by child up to 15 years of age. In the first chapter I briefly defined term child and interrogation for the purpose of this thesis. Then I specifically focus on core subjects. Preparation for interrogation is understood as arranging appropriate environment for conducting interrogation, setting pleasant atmosphere and proper explanation of legal system and laws. Second chapter is dedicated to communication skills of child witness; particular subsections describe for example conversation rules or child motivations behind lying. In the most extensive chapter regarding suggestibility reader is introduced to well-known suggestive techniques through their definitions, examples and notifications about their harmful effects. The empirical part serves as follow-up to my last theoretical chapter and proposes qualitative research that would examine whether interrogations of child witnesses in Czech Republic exploit suggestive techniques.
