This master's thesis aims to evaluate the role of NGOs promoting gay and lesbian rights in civil society, analysing the activities of civil sector organizations in oder to present them as a part of civil society. It is suggested that these NGOs both replace and complete the state role in this field and help to promote the values of civil society.
The Problems of the NGO MAMMA HELPs Professionalization

A qualitative case study, this master's thesis aims to introduce Mamma HELP, the assocciation of breast cancer patients, in relation to the professionalization process and its potential impact. It outlines the dilemma to be considered in the process, in particular the relationship between the new and former participants. Based on the results obtained in this study it is suggested that the organizational changes do not affect the role and objectives of the assocciation.
Corporate Philanthrophy - Theory and Survey Findings of Corporate Philanthrophy in Ústí nad Labem District.

This thesis deals with the corporate philanthropy (giving). The first chapter acquiants with definition of this phenomen that is in the following chapters demarcated to imagine the specialty of corporate fhilanthropy. Mention about fact that there is what to take up again (in corporate philanthropy after 1989) follows. Next essential item of the thesis acquiants us with the basic obstacles that refuse development of corporate philanthropy. An important, following part of the thesis acquiants with the results and conclusions of the researches in the corporate philanthropy published during the last five years. These results are confronted with results issued from my own research of the corporate donors in the Ústí nad Labem district. At the end of this thesis you will find the conclusions based on the confrontation of the theory of corporate philanthropy (concerning conclusions of researches published within last 5 years) with the good practice of corporate philanthropy in Ústí nad Labem district.
Possibilities of Participative Evaluation.

This work is based on a research thesis that says, in the case of long or mid-term processes that deal with a wide land area or large amount of people, non-participatory evaluations can have even a negative influence on watched process or its impacts, because it doesn't cover them all. The Methodology being used is mainly an exploration of facts in foreign literature, which is being added with the authors own experiences. This work introduces Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) as an unfamiliar concept in Czech Republic. It aims to describe the evaluation as an integral part of projects or programs. This work details several concerning obstacles while using participatory evaluation while also offering descriptions on how to use this approach in practice, including offering an overview of methods and techniques most currently used. Based on interviews with 16 experts it suggests also a possible way of using this concept in Czech Republic with the example of Local Action Groups in LEADER.
Personal Management in Organisation. Case Study of Child Helpline Assiciation.

This master's thesis is concerned with personnel management in organizations involving teams of both proffesionals and amateurs. The first part of the thesis gives a theoretical overview of the key trends in the human resources management, with a special emphasis on the differences in management approaches to proffesionals and amateurs. It is followed by a case study of the Safety Line Association comparing the theoretical knowledge with the practice of this NGO. Providing the theoretical framework, the association's organizational analysis as well as its employees feedback, this thesis offers some recommendations for modifying the existing personnel management procedures in this organization.

Measuring Impact of Corporate Philanthropy and Corporate Community Investsment as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility

This master's thesis is concerned with corporate social responsibility and corporate philanthropy in relation to the measurement of corporate community investment impact. The impact measurement and its significance is approached through Corporate Community Investment methods introduced by London Benchmarking Group (LBG), in the Czech Republic referred to as "Standard odpovědná firma". This thesis is based on the hypothesis that this impact measurement method and its employment allows the long-term cultivation of the corporate social responsibility in the states where it is applied. In oder to asses the potential of LBG method implementation in the Czech Republic, this thesis introduces the measurement results, the target groups reviews of the measurement significance, and at the same time analyses a variety of case studies.
