BERÁNKOVÁ, Hana
Laminitis is one of the most common multifactorial diseases of horse limbs. Recent studies show that 90% of this disease is due to endocrinological diseases such as Cushing's syndrome or equine metabolic syndrome. In available literature, there is not much relevant information on the relationship of laminitis to hematological and biochemical blood parameters. This diploma thesis "Changes in selected blood parameters of horses" evaluates biochemical and haematological blood parameters in connection with laminitis in 27 sick horses. It statistically compares the differences in blood parameters between healthy and sick horses.

BERÁNKOVÁ, Hana
Laminitis is one of the most important complex diseases of horses, often leading to irreversible hoof changes, which fundamentally restricts work and sports use of horses, fitness, performance, and reduces their value. Prevention and timely treatment is a prerequisite for further full use of the horse. The bachelor thesis deals with the anatomy and physiology of the hoof, the etiology of the disease of the hoof joint, and the formation, course and treatment of the hoof approval with the aim of getting acquainted with the possibility of alternative treatment. Part of the work is also an evaluation of the incidence of hoof approval, treatment and prevention methods. A questionnaire survey was carried out in 18 holdings with a total of 23 recorded cases of hoof approval, with the most common proportion of horses in the age category 11-15 years (34.8%). The disease was mainly found in horses used for recreation (78.3%) who had 60.9% physiological hooves. The disease was found in most horses (91.3%) in the clinical phase, most often after lameness (69.6%). The main cause of hoof approval in our questionnaire survey was a nutrition error (82.6%). From the point of view of breeding, the disease was most frequently observed in the pony (73.9%).

Beránková, Hana ; Kovařík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Patková, Anna (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Author: Hana Beránková Supervisor: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, PhD. Title of the bachelor thesis: Use of biomarkers for the diagnosis and prevention of preeclampsia and eclampsia Aim of the thesis: The aim of this thesis was to gain an overview of preeclampsia, to summarize the findings of laboratory examinations for the diagnosis of this disease and to focus on the biochemical markers necessary to recognize the disease. Main findings: Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disease, which today is a major complication of pregnancy. Because of the undetermined etiology, neither the prediction nor the diagnosis of this disease is simple. The levels of some biomarkers, measurable in both blood and urine, make it easier to recognize the approaching disease before the first clinical manifestations. However, there is no factor that would reliably determine whether it is preeclampsia. Therefore, combinations of different markers are currently used. Conclusion: The number of markers shown here proves that it is not easy to define the most reliable ones. Today, physicians choose methods to investigate angiogenic factors and the ratio of soluble fms like tyrosine kinase to placental growth factor...
