"They say I'm a poet - oh wonderful, thanks". Rap Lyrics of Prago Union as a Poetic Work with Didactic Potential
Bartošová, Anna ; Vojtíšek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the literary analysis of the work of rap lyricist Adam Svatos (performing since 2002 in the hip-hop group Prago Union under the artistic pseudonym Kato) and on its possible application in a didactic context. Therefore, the goal is not only to capture the poetic uniqueness of these texts, but also to declare its educational applicability at the level of primary or secondary school literary education by constructing own didactic materials (four worksheets). Firstly, the basic genre-specific characteristics of the Prago Union rap text are outlined in the light of literary theory. The transcription of the texts (primarily fixed only in sound) is then supported by the theoretical conclusions. The set of four analyses more deeply considers the texts "Rapviem", "MĚ100", "Olympionik" and "Smrt žije", so that the findings from these analyses become the starting point for specific worksheets intended for teaching poetry in literature classes in the last part of the work. The work is also supplemented in the appendix with eight transcriptions of the texts that are most often mentioned in the bachelor thesis. Key words Prago Union, Kato, Adam Svatos, lyrics, rap, word play, lyrical subject, didactics of poetry
