Response to the threat of demolition of the village: Horní Jiřetín and Nové Heřminovy

The thesis deals with the reaction of the residents of municipalities threatened with demolition in connection with the threat model presented by Dennis Smith. Two municipalities were selected for research - Horní Jiřetín and Nové Heřminovy. In Horní Jiřetín, there is discussion of the demolition of the municipality in connection with the expansion of brown coal mining and, above all, the progress of mining at the quarry of the Czechoslovak Army. It is planned to build a dam in Nové Heřminy, which should prevent floods in the region in the future and at the same time become a water reservoir for the dry season. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the threat model presented in 2018 by Dennis Smith in his book Civilized Rebels: An Inside Story of the West's Retreat from Global Power. In this part of the thesis, this model is described and put into the context of sociological theories of conflict. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of qualitative research, which was conducted in both municipalities using interviews with their residents. As part of the analysis, the residents' reactions were described in terms of strategies for coping with the situation and fears for the future. RECONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTRAL BUILDING PLAVEČ – PREPARATION AND ORGANIZATION OF CONSTRUCTION

This thesis deals with reconstruction of the home for the elderly Plaveč main building. These reconstruction is primarily interior renovation, the rooms of clients and staff facilities, but also the surrounding of the building. All work will be in full operation. Consideration of this factor in the organization of construction is the main subject of this thesis, which shall include traffic contexts, costing, budget, time schedule, equipment of construction site, construction machinery, technology procedure, occupational safety and resources.
Family House

The thesis deals with a project documentation of detached house for a family of four to five family members in Letovice village in Southern Moravia. The building is brick with two floors, without basement, with inclined roof and garage. The house is situated in mild slope on an estate without earlier housing development. The first floor functions as social background with kitchen and technical room. In the second floor there are childern´s rooms, playroom and sleeping room.
Multifunctional Building

This diploma thesis deals with construction of new mixed-used building in Brno at Terezy Novákové street. The relevant estate lies on building plot number 49, which is purposed as building ground. There are existing buidings at relevant estate which will be removed. When the proposition for the building was being drafted, an extra focus was placed on use of public zone of building. The proposed capacity of building consists of 21 living units with its own internal and external parking places. The mixed-used building has five floors, there are one underground floor and four above-ground floors. There are parking zone and technical background of the building in the undergound floor. The first above-ground floor is used for commercial purposes with its own parking zone. Others above-ground floors are used for living purposses. Living area and public area are separated.

Weaving two worlds: A Moroccan Narrative of Adaptation in Prague

Immigration or relocation offers a valuable opportunity to explore the impact of a new environment on the cultural repertoire or identity of a specific group. This qualitative study delves into the adaptation experiences of 17 Moroccan nationals residing in Prague. The focus is placed on their adept navigation of cultural differences, the strategies employed to overcome challenges during the adaptation process, and the revelation of the pivotal role played by social networks and support systems in their transition to Prague life. A carefully designed semi-structured interview protocol was used to gather detailed data. The data analysis followed the principles of constructive grounded theory methodology, aiming to develop a deep understanding and identify patterns in the collected information. Through systematic coding and continuous comparison, several significant themes emerged from the data: Cultural Dichotomy: Navigating Two Worlds (a); Bonds of Belonging: Building Bridges with Fellow Moroccans (b); Chasing Integration: Struggles and Strategies in Prague (c), Unveiling Identities: Negotiating Individuality in a Foreign Land (d).
