Braumová, Lucie ; Bartůňková, Staša (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: The effects of extreme physical and mental stress on the human body Goals: The main goal of this work was to evaluate the effect of physical stress load in a five-kilometer-long race in cross-country skiing on physical and mental functions of high school students. Methods: The investigated group consisted of 10 boys of the average age of 16 years. To evaluate their level of physical fitness and circulatory responses during cross-country stress, the maximal treadmill stress test was used. Circulatory response before, during, and after the race was monitored by a Sport-tester. To evaluate the mental background and the actual condition under the stress load, standardized questionnaires on ability to cross-country skiing, stress management strategy, degree of physical discomfort and current mental state were used. Results: The reference file tested by a stress test up to the maximum proved an above-average aerobic fitness. The extreme stress situation was a five-kilometer-long race in cross-country skiing. The results were processed and evaluated with a statistical and factual relevance. A number of correlations were made. The average SF values, which were achieved during the race, were getting near the maximum values (96% of SF max.). Even the evaluation by a Borg RPE scale attested to the...

Bendzová, Pavlína ; Levitová, Andrea (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Group exercise with elements of the method Pilates in individuals with ankylosing spondylitis - comparisons with the control group Objective: Find impact of group therapy with engaging Pilates method to movability of axial system, functional status, activity of disease and total health status of individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. Compare this method with compensation group motion program in individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: 26 individuals with ankylosing spondylitis of average age (38,25 ± 9,18) attending Institute of Rheumatology in Prague were chosen. Probands were split into two groups: experimental group, which were doing motion program with elements of Pilates (n=13), and control group, which were attending compensation group motion program in individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. It was empirical quantitative research, exactly comparative quasiexperiment, where was compared individual groups in between (inter-group) and, moreover, influence of individual motion programs (intra-group). Data gathering was executed twice - at the beginning of quasiexperiment (pre-test) and at the end (3 months after; post-test). Those parameters were examined: Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index for axial system region and expansion of chest, Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis...
Comparison of two analysers of respiratory gases by paired examination of the same persons
Moravcová, Martina ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Comparison of two analysers of respiratory gases by paired examination of the same persons. Resource: The basic assumption of laboratory measurements is precision of devices. The aim of this study was to determine if the values of spiroergometric parameters measured at the same load on the same subjects by two different devices are comparable. We compared the respiratory gas analyzer Kardiospirox (Junkalor, CR) and Oxycon Delta (Jaeger, Germany). Methods: We studied 11 subjects on both devices on the same day. The intensity and duration of load were chosen to be repeatable in the same quality after a short rest. We measured the basic spiroerometric parameters at rest, during exercise 20W, 50W, 100W and 150W for men and at rest, during exercise 20W, 40W, 80W and 120W for women, always at steady state. For statistical comparison method we used Student's paired T test. Results: Heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO2.kg-1 ), ventilatory equivalent (VE/VO2), breathing frequency (DF), respiratory exchange ratio (RER) did not differ significantly. Pulmonary ventilation (VE) and expired carbon dioxide (VCO2.kg-1 ) were significantly different. The reason could be that the sensor for ventilation of Oxycon works with inhaled and exhaled air while Kardiospirox works with just exhaled air....

Title: Effect of a comprehensive rehabilitation program of children with asthma bronchiale Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to show the usefulness and necessity of physical therapy in children with bronchial asthma and how does it affect them. Another objective was to summarize the possible available methods with demonstrations of examples of individual exercises that can be used for this disease. The aim was also monitoring and evaluation of the patient's subjective feelings. Methods: In the thesis we carried out a single arm experiment, where we used comprehensive kinesiology analysis of individual subjects and the methods of lung function tests. From the lung function test, we chose the spirometry test by method of curve flow / capacity and also we used the peak expiratory flow monitoring using peak-flow-meter. We compared the subjective feelings of clients at the beginning and the end of the treatment program. In the period we watched the changes of value in individual measuring techniques. Results: We found that a comprehensive treatment of children asthma has a significant impact on their posture and also on the respiratory functions and subjective perception of individual symptoms investigated clients. All clients received the same treatment and each of them occurred in...

Chmelová, Zdeňka ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
ABSTRACT The values of blood pressure and pulse rate in dependence on the human body position. The aim of the study: The pilot study originated within the framework of project "Specific school research 2010-261602" with the aim of evaluation of blood pressure and pulse rate values in dependence on the human body position. Two groups of respondents were involved. Furthermore the comparison of the results in group of regular senior female trainees and the group of non-trainees was folowed by practical use of the acquired findings. The method: Quasiexperiment method for this study was used, since the group selection was not realized on random basis. The collective compiled of 22 senior women divided into two groups, eleven by eleven. The first group consisted of the women with the average age 67,7 (SD±6,8), practicing the sports on regular basis. The second group was represented by senior women agend 74,3 at average (SD±12,1) with no or just occasional sports activity. All the respondents were examined for blood pressure and pulse rate values in eight consecutive position. Pauses were taken in between all the measurements to prevent misrepresented data caused by increased physical activity. Hypotheses: 1. We suggest the measurements in each of the groups of respondents will be different and for the benefit...
