Towards implementing the instruments of Bologna process in the area of recognition of foreign diplomas in the Czech Republic

This study perceives the implementation stage of a policy cycle as an area, which may influence whether the policy has the intended effects. The author focuses on the implementation of the instruments of the Bologna Process in the field of foreign diploma recognition in the Czech Republic and asks, what can one learn about the implementation of a policy in general from studying this specific policy area? To answer this questions the study develops a conceptual and research framework, based on which the author presents propositions as tentative answers to the research questions. The conceptual and research framework is then used to analyze the sources of data, which include a questionnaire survey, analysis of documents and semi- structured interviews. Based on these the author presents recommendations for the implementation of the instruments of the Bologna Process in the area of foreign diploma recognition in the Czech Republic. At the end of the study, the shortcomings and benefits of the application of the conceptual and research framework are evaluated. Stakeholders' attitudes towards policy of cost- sharing in Czech higher education institutions

The topic of my diploma thesis is a policy of cost- sharing in the Czech higer education system. Discussion of the cost- sharing policy implementation in the Czech higer education system has taken place for almost twenty years. Yet no form of tutition fees at higer education institutions was introduced. The cost- sharing seems to be a controversial element in the effort to reform the system of Czech higher education financing. The Czech higher education system needs a reform. There are many problems: worsening financial situation of higher education institution, a low efficiency of the system, inequitable access to higher education etc. Policy making is a complex process, which comprise of many factors. In this process, stakeholders plays a very important role. Stakeholders are those, who are interested in the policy or those who are influenced by it. In my thesis I want to clarify a dispute about the policy of cost- sharing in the Czech higher education. To reach this goal, I try to describe the attitudes of higher education policy stakeholders to the cost- sharing in the period of 1992- 2012.

Implementation of a culture policy project of new building of National Library of the Czech Republic and its failure

The thesis focuses on a chosen public policy issue, as a part of cultural policy, namely on an implementation of a project of new building of National library of Czech Republic in Prague, arisen from an international architecture competition. This thesis has a form of a case study paper and investigates all relevant events and circumstances of the case, as well as interested stakeholders. They were characterised to disclose their possible role in implementation deficit, which occurred in the case. The aim of this thesis is to provide complex insight into the case, to find the point of implementation deficit in the process and to identify the values and hidden motivations of stakeholders. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, there is a summary of theoretical knowledge about public policy and implementation process and its analysis. The author describes three possible approaches to implementation analysis. Second chapter focuses on culture and its specifics, in the forming of culture policy. The third chapter is a complete analysis of the case, including event analysis and stakeholder analysis. In the conclusion, the author sums up the identified causes of implementation deficit and gives recommendations for possible future implementation of a similar cultural project.

Parents as an Educational Policy Stakeholder: Parental Strategies of Influencing the Children's Educational Career in Prague

Bakalářská práce "Rodiče jako aktér vzdělávací politiky: rodičovské strategie ovlivňování vzdělávací dráhy dětí v Praze" se zabývá strategiemi a rozhodnutími, které rodiče činí při výběru základních škol pro své děti. Jejím cílem je popsat a pochopit, jak rodiče ovlivňují vzdělávací dráhu svých dětí a co stojí v pozadí jejich voleb a rozhodnutí. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na rodiče v Praze. Práce nahlíží na rodiče jako na aktéry vzdělávací politiky a zkoumá, jaké jsou jejich možnosti vzdělávací politiku ovlivnit a jak těchto možností využívají. Práce popisuje současnou podobu a cíle povinné školní docházky, její zařazení do českého vzdělávacího systému a zachycuje, jaké v současné době existují odlišnosti mezi základními školami. Druhá část práce vychází z rozhovorů s matkami dětí, které jsou právě v první třídě a analyzuje jejich názory a postoje ke škole a strategie, které při výběru školy uplatňují. V závěru analýzu je navrženo rozdělení rodičů do dvou skupin, podle jejich názorů a postojů, strategií, které volí a možností, které mají při ovlivňování svých škol.

FM Transmitter on Rasberry Pi

Aim of this bachelor thesis is to desing and implement player, which will be able to play its own files in FM band. The player consists of transmitter based on Rapsberry Pi and mobile application that allows wireless control of this player. Technical report is divided into three main parts. The initial part describes technologies for transmission of audio signal in FM band. Followed by description of suggested solution and its implementation. Concluding part describes the designed prototype and assesment of its parameters.

Strain stress analysis of proximal femur with dynamic hip plate

The presented Master’s Thesis aims at determining stress and strain distribution in proximal femur with applied PCCP and DHS systems. The DHS system has been widely and successfully used for treating intertrochanteric fractures of proximal femur; in some cases, however, complications concerning implant cut-out and excessive fracture collapse occur. To minimize the risk of stabilization failure, the PCCP system was designed. In the Thesis, the process of creating the numerical model is described and the results obtained by employing Finite Element Method are presented. The 3D models of implants’ geometry were created based on the real objects. The model of proximal femur geometry was built by utilizing a series of CT scans and divided into two bodies with respect to the AO classification afterwards. The loading was obtained by solving the static equilibrium equations for the loose lower extremity. The computation was run in Ansys Workbench v13 software. In the hip screws of the PCCP system, lower values of equivalent stress can be found when compared to the DHS system. However, the equivalent strain generated in the proximal fragment is 3-times higher when the PCCP system is employed than in case of DHS system which may be due to the self-cutting design of PCCP screws. By employing PCCP system, the risk of implant failure is decreased. On the other hand, the bone tissue of the proximal fragment in close vicinity of the implant screws seems to be overloaded and prone to collapse.

Creating geometrical models of selected implants of hip joint

According to the specification, the concept of the thesis is a research study, which is supposed to present global overview of the hip joint arthroplasty. It involves a short summary of basic methods used in biomechanical measurements of bone tissue and provides a comparison among isotropic homogeneous, isotropic inhomogeneous and orthotropic inhomogeneous material models and their impact on the results of the stress-strain analyses. In the thesis, there is also a short list of popular implants used in present times as well as a few examples of creating geometrical models of some prosthesis.

Comparison of selected insurance premiums by insurance companies in selected

The topic of my thesis is "Comparison of selected premium life insurance products in selected insurance companies. Work is focused on the private life insurance, namely life insurance investment product. At the beginning of the work describes the general concept of unit-linked life insurance, its advantages and disadvantages and possibilities for negotiation. Another part of this work is focused on a comparison of the market represented an investment in life insurance, individual insurance companies and compare insurance quotations in the country. This comparison is conducted at 6 selected insurance life insurance companies. In the last part of this work is to compare the investment life insurance products with alternative recommendations and target customers.
