Journeys - A Comparison of Journeys to Exotic Places and the Every-day Journey Home

The thesis compares everyday ways home and the exotic travels as an original way of human knowledge. In the theoretical part, the reader is offered a selection of contemporary Czech artists whose work is inspired by simple motifs of everyday life and a research concerned with the influence of the art of the Far East and Africa on the artistic development in Europe in the 20th century. These topics are transformed into the art education project. The supplement contains two authorial books reflecting both topics {WAY HOME and TRAVEL to Syria and Jordan).

Master thesis is a theoretical and practical study of choosen topic. It contains part of text and diary from pilgrimage realizated by my self completet by photograph. There are creative workes designed by children according to suggest which you can find in text part. Subject of theoretic part is a study about religion pilgrimage in past and today. There is comparson with unique Hájek pilgrimage too. In didactic part suggest creative projectes for basic school and university of art. Deal especially with religious and usual thinges in world today. The practical part and today in my graduation thesis I did try to show theoretical and in picture new look on pilgrimage.

A Book in Two Languages

The dissertation contains as a basic analysis of bilingual book, which is one of the book form with already crucial position on the Czech book market. It describes its major functions and categories that are indicated from one-language book and contains information about bilingual books production in the time of communist period of the Czech Republic history (samizdat). Work consider as a first bilingual textbook Orbis Sensualium Pictus from Jan Amos Komenský. Final part of theoretical investigation is trying to answer a basic question if this book form can be used in multicultural/ intercultural education in the Czech Republic and Europe. Part of the work is disclosing outcomes of analysis, which aim was to find out what is the standing and prediction of bilingual book in publishing houses and also talking about usage and position of the bilingual book as an education tool in schools in the Czech Republic. Education part offers methodology and conclusions from two art themes realized at basic school and one proposal of education procedure, where book (bilingual book) could be used as a tool in intercultural education. Writing in the Streets - a Comparison of Danish and Czech City Planning

annotation: Hubáčková B.: Signs in the streets - Comparison of Danish and Czech city design. (Graduation theses) Prague 2006 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, department of art. Signs in the streets - Comparison of Danish and Czech city design is a desk study which is concerned with history and forms of visual communication in public area and its position in the early 21st century. The target of these graduation theses was compare the position and level of visual communication in Denmark and in the Czech Republic. Information and orientation systems are incorrect in both countries but the errors come from different reasons. The big differences were noted at the level of processing of advertising which is at an even higher level in Denmark due to of stability and tradition of craft. keywords: street development, graphic design, visual communication, design, orientation system, advertising, poster, graffiti.
