Contemporary art in kindergarten

The purpose of the thesis is to describe how common objects are used in contemporary art and consequently in art classes for children in the kindergarten. The theoretical part of the paper outlines the importance of creativity in education, introduces art activities boosting development of creativity and describes what makes projects such an outstanding learning tool. The last chapter overviews contemporary Czech artists whose assortment of creative courses and methods has been used as inspiration for various art assignments in the practical part of the paper. The practical part of the paper is in the form of a project designed for a particular kindergarten. Photo documentation and the author's pedagogic reflection of the applied activities are enclosed.

Title of bachelor work: Influence and use of art education on the development of mental and social skills, knowledge and habits of children diagnosed with autism Abstract The bachelor thesis named "The use and impact of art education on the development of mental and social skills, knowledge and habits of children diagnosed with autism" is elaborated as a participatory probe where the core is the analysis of artistic tasks for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders, with a focus on analyzing the impact of creative duties on development of key competencies in accordance with RVP and individual IVP, drawn up for each individual student, in collaboration with SPC Most. The thesis contains a set of individual artistic tasks, the methodology used to work on individual activities, analysis of the impact of activities to develop the skills, knowledge and habits of students, documentation and critical evaluation of a series of creative tasks and results of the probe.
Camera Obscura as an Unique Tool of Recording Reality. Possibilities of its Application in Contemporary Art Education

Marie Nováčková Bachelor thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education Camera obscura as an Unique Tool of Recording Reality. Possibilities of its Application in Contemporary Art Education. The thesis follows camera obscura as an unique medium for artistic work. Forms of camera obscura are described through the cultural and historical context, focusing on contemporary visual culture and pinhole photography. The pinhole camera is seen as a tool for artistic work, which can be subject to the author, can cooperate with him or can be artistically autonomus. These theoretical findings are reflected in the conception of an educational program connecting learning about the development of photographic images with the individual perception of their stories. A pinhole photography and the related story from the practical part is a comic strip created by using photographies made by pinhole camera, which storyline supported by a drawing. The comic strip is called The Ravens Player and its format is structured as Bach's composition Toccata a fuga in d-moll. It is focused on using and changing both analog and digital photography including photomontage, collage and animation. Theoretical principles discussed in the thesis are then converted to the project for elementary school students. The practical part is also based on the above mentioned theoretical principles. Title: Evaluation of wheelchair adjustments and their impact on proper propulsion pattern upper extremities and sitting posture in patients with spinal cord lesions. Objectives: The objective of this work was to evaluate the adjustments of wheelchair and to determine their impact on the work of the upper limbs and posture while sitting. This work was done on a group of patients with spinal lesions with their own wheelchairs. Another objective was to assess how education of proper propulsion pattern and form and type of a grip of handrim affects the correct propulsion pattern. Methods: In the group of 26 patients with spinal cord injuries in different levels of the spinal cord, I tested the adjusments of wheelchair, in particular the centre of gravity and maximum seat height from the ground. I also investigated what education on correct propulsion pattern the patients received, and observed any home-made adjustments to handrim, as well as patients' techniques of handrim grip. Finally, I examined how the subjects drove his/her wheelchair. During all the tests, I recorded video and photo documentation. The results were statistically evaluated using the Fisher test. Kinesiological Bases of Ancient and Present Rehabilitation Medical Practices

The thesis deals with kinesiological conceptions of Galen of Pergamum and present day science, which it examines from the pespective of philosophical hermeneutics. The research question of the thesis is following: Is there a conception of man and movement in the writings of ancient doctors especially of Galen which can enrich present scientific positions? And the hypothesis is that ancient kinesiology is able to inspire present rehabilitation medical practices and ordinary clinical praxis supports this. Chapters 2.1 to 2.3 sketch out Galen's physical basis, where he follows Aristotele, his psychology, massively influenced by Plato, and therapeutics that belongs to hippocratian tradition. The outcome of these chapters is the teleological character of motion, it's therapeutical as well as originary link to soul and holistic conception of man. Chapters 3.1 to 3.3 analyze corelatively the kinesiological basis of present day science. It is based on biomechanics, genetic conceptions and neurophysiology and understands health and disease through bio-psycho-social prism.
