Pension system reform in CR

The object of my diploma is focused in the pension system of The Czech Republic and the perspective of it in the future. At present there is still no problem in the financial balance of the pay-as-you-go pillar but due to the ageing of population the Czech dominant pillar will certain face to serious problems in case of no modifications. This conclusion arises from the first part of the analysis which also consists of the possible parameter modifications that could keep the system in balanced in long term. The next part is the analysis of the savings in the pension funds as the main alternative to the PAYGs. Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages which are main objects of both analyses in this diploma. Beside of the ability to keep the system stabled in financial terms I examine also the equivalence of contributions to the level of pensions that is important for the motivation of people to be responsible for their financial security in their old-age. The last part deals with the experiences of the pension systems in Chile, Slovak Republic and Sweden from where we could gain the real results of the reformed systems in different way in each country. From the results of these analyses I also give some possible recommendations for the elementary modifications in Czech system in the final part.

Economic Analysis of Judicial Activity

The thesis deals with the problem of the monopoly structure of the modern justice system and the heavy regulation of most fields of dispute resolution. In this system, judges themselves comprise a self-interested group seeking relaxed regulation and increased rights from the government. The thesis describes inefficiencies and dangers stemming from the lack of market control of the modern justice system and suggests an alternative in the form of a private justice system. The purpose of this paper is to examine both the problem of successful implementation of competition into the current justice system, while describing various models as to how the private justice system could function without state control, with examples from history. This paper further examines the economic differences between private and public justice systems in terms of incentives, efficiency, the process of law creation, speed, and consumers' satisfaction, as well as the conditions under which different systems work best. The main conclusion of this paper is that society should allow all subjects desirous of opportunities to provide goods and services through new enterprises, even in areas currently the exclusive domain of the state, as doing so brings an increase in quality, speed of solution/service, and innovation.

Regulation of access electronic communications networks in the Czech Republic and its impact on the industry development

The thesis deals with the asymmetric ex-ante regulation applied in the electronic com-munications sector in order to strengthen the competitive ability of alternative operators at the expense of incumbent operators' competitiveness with the aim of reinforcing effective competition in the electronic communications markets. The author is concer-ned with the regulatory instrument entailing an obligation on the fixed incumbent opera-tors to open their access networks to other operators. This is called Local Loop Unbund-ling (LLU). The thesis assesses regulatory impacts on the Czech electronic communi-cations market. The market development in the Czech Republic certified the negative regulatory effect on the fixed alternative operators'motivation to build their own access infrastructure. The author tries to find the dismotivating elements of the present-day LLU regulatory form by means of the Czech LLU market analysis. The author adverts to the undesirable regulatory effect on both alternative operators'and incumbent opera-tors'investment motivation. The thesis offers reasoning why the pro-competitive regula-tory policy (inhibiting investments necessary for the sector development) is not appro-priate.

Real estate prices in connection with development of the economy of the Czech Republic

This thesis focuses on the problem of real estate prices in the Czech Republic and its progress in context of economic development of the Czech economy. The real estate prices are an important indicator of economic maturity of the country and its incidental adverse development affect strongly banking sector and consequently the whole economy. In the first part of the work are described and analyzed causations of the economic development of the Czech Republic for providing a frame of conditions of our economy. The second part of the work is focused on the Czech real estate market, its specifics in comparison with other markets. There are summarized starting points of the previous economic era and there are described and analyzed economic influences on the real estate market. Further there is given account of the real estate prices development in detail. Preceding findings are synthesized in the final part of the work and in addition there is sketched out possible development of real estate prices in the near future.

Národná banka Slovenska a přijetí eura

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá měnovou politikou Národní banky Slovenska po vzniku samostatné Slovenské republiky, až po měnovou politiku zaměřenou na snahu o dosažení přijetí eura jako svého národního platidla v naplánovaném termínu, tedy od 1. ledna 2009. Práce dále řeší otázku praktického zavedení eura do hotovostního a bezhotovostního oběhu, spojenou s nutností zabezpečení ochrany spotřebitelů. Na závěr práce uvádím příklady zemí, které euro zavedly v nedávné době. Jedná se o Slovinko, které vstoupilo mezi země eurozóny od 1. ledna 2007 a o Kypr a Maltu, které tak učinily 1.ledna 2008. Na příkladu těchto zemí, které už mají úspěšné přijmutí eura za sebou se snažím ukázat, na jaké oblasti by se mělo Slovensko více zaměřit a naopak z čeho si vzít příklad pokud chce euro zavést stejně hladce jako tyto země.

Zlatý standard, svobodné a centrální bankovnictví; porovnání myšlenek ekonomie hlavního proudu a rakouské školy

První část této práce má za cíl představit téma zlatého standardu, některé jeho varianty a téma svobodného bankovnictví tak, jak byly pojaty v pracích Ludwiga von Misese a Murrayho N. Rothbarda. Také stručně uvádí obecný pohled ekonomie hlavního proudu na toto téma, jak je předkládán v současných učebnicích pro bakalářský stupeň studia. Poté, co je představeno téma, je práce zaměřena na modely klasického a čistého zlatého standardu, přičemž je krátce zmíněna možná kombinace těchto modelů se svobodným bankovnictvím, a následně je nabídnuto srovnání se současným monetárním uspořádáním. Na závěr je předložen názor o tom, které z představených uspořádání je nejvhodnější pro naplnění proklamovaných cílů současné monetární politiky.

Ekonómia a trh drog

Čierne trhy, medzi ktoré patrí bez pochýb aj trh drog, vznikajú vtedy, keď štát umiestni nejaké obmedzenia na výrobu alebo distribúciu tovarov alebo služieb. Tieto trhy sú veľmi prosperujúce, pretože štát ich nedokáže svojimi opatreniami zlikvidovať. Kým tu bude existovať strana dopytu, tak čierne trhy budú prítomné v ekonomike. Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je ekonomická analýza dopytu po drogách. Hlavná pozornosť je venovaná spotrebiteľom drog, t.j. jej konzumentom. Konkrétne sa zameriam na preferencie spotrebiteľov. Na to, čo ich vedie ku konzumácii drog, na ich úžitky z konzumácie. Nezameriavam sa na to, či je správne užívať drogy alebo nie, lebo ekonómia je neutrálna disciplína, ale zameriavam sa na to, ako ľudia uspokojujú svoje potreby a uskutočňujú svoje rozhodnutia pri hľadaní tej najlepšej alternatívy. Ďalej sa zameriam na postoj konzumentov na to, že trh drog patrí medzi čierne trhy a súvisí s trestnou činnosťou a nad tým, že jednotlivé krajiny nedokážu efektívne bojovať proti týmto trhom.

Investment Incentives and Their Effect on Czech Labour Market

Práce se věnuje dopadu investičních pobídek na trh práce v České republice. Analyzuje efektivnost institutu investičních pobídek jako nástroje hospodářské politiky k stimulaci investiční aktivity a tvorby nových pracovních míst zejména v regionálně-politickém kontextu. Formou hospodářsko-politických opatření nabízí alternativní řešení tvorby nových pracovních míst v případě zrušení klasických investičních pobídek.

The Pension Systém Reform in the Slovak Republic

Diplomová práca predstavuje reformu dôchodkového zabezpečenia v Slovenskej republike, ktorá bola zavedená do praxe v roku 2004. V súčasnosti prebieha diskusia o jej prípadných zmenách do budúcna. Cieľom práce je zhodnotiť pozitíva a negatíva zmien v dôchodkovom systéme, dopady reformy na obyvateľstvo Slovenska a dôsledky navrhovaných zmien. Dôležitým bodom práce je sledovanie demografického vývoja Slovenskej republiky, ktorý je významným faktorom pri posudzovaní vhodnosti priebežného financovania systému dôchodkového zabezpečenia. V závere sú zhrnuté výsledky analýz prevedené v samotnej práci. [sk]

Ochrana konkurence na bankovních trzích

Bankovní klienty zajímá vedle fungování a bezpečnosti bankovního sektoru především kvalita služeb a výše bankovních poplatků. V minulých letech začaly být banky kritizovány v českých médiích právě kvůli výši jejich poplatků. Antimonopolní úřad proti velkým českým bankám zahájil šetření, zda neomezují konkurenci na bankovním trhu. Cílem této práce bylo zhodnotit vývoj konkurence na českém bankovním trhu a jak s ním souvisí efektivnost. Výsledkem analýzy je konstatování ve prospěch sílícího konkurenčního prostředí.
