Legal gender change in the Czech Republic
Voráčková, Barbora ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
1 Annotation This bachelor's thesis deals with the process of legal gender change in the Czech Republic. Legal gender change is very important for many people inside the transgender community. The goal of this thesis is to describe this process and find problems and barriers that make completing it harder and longer. This thesis is supported by the street-level bureaucracy theory by Michael Lipsky because these workers are important part of the process and have big impact on it. These workers are mostly doctors and state officials that change names. For the purpose of this thesis two interviews with experts and six interviews with transgender people were made. The interviews were semi-structured depending on the story the respondent decided to tell. The shortest one lasted about 20 minutes and the longest one had 2 hours. They were analyzed by the thematic analysis. Problems mentioned in the interviews were unclear conditions like neutral name or being or not being necessary in the real life test. Also, sterilization and divorce being the law stated conditions were found a problem.

Parenting skills of mothers with psychiatric diagnosis in the context of family policy
Pavlíčková, Karolína ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of parental competence of mothers with psychiatric disorder, with an emphasis on the difficulties such diagnosis can have on the family's functionality. The most severe, in practice, seems to be the necessity to place the children in institutions, away from their families, in cases where no other family member can take care of these children during the mother's absence as a result of the attack. Due to the nature of the disorder, periodicity can be expected, which significantly disturbs the child's development and relationships within the family. The real impact was observed in the empirical part via a case study focusing on six families that have a mother diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder. The needs of these families were mapped through interviews and were later compared to the current offer of non-profit organizations. The results were used to find out, which services are offered and in which areas do these families require support. Due to the nature of this problem and the necessity for systematic solution when it comes down to the provided psychiatric care, I reached out to the current Minister of Health, who commented on the present situation. The presumption that the biggest impact is observed in families with single mothers proved to be right,...
Inclusive Education in the context of the Election Programs of Political Parties
Veselská, Kateřina ; Mouralová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Inclusive Education in the context of the Election Programs of Political Parties" examines how the topic of inclusive education is used in election programs of political parties and political movements in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2017. At the same time, thesis also focuses on linking this topic to the public-political cycle. The work draws data from election programs of individual political parties and from the pre-election debate held on Czech Television. The main finding is that inclusive education has become an up-to-date topic for elections in 2017 - inclusive education does not take place in electoral programs for elections to the Chamber of Deputies in 2013. Another finding is that 6 out of 9 political parties that got to the Chamber of Deputies after the 2017 elections were against inclusion and 3 for inclusion with adjustments. Most political parties see the problem as a whole in the current form of inclusive education.

Poláková, Alžběta ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Smidová, Michaela (referee)
This thesis is focused on homelessness problem, particularly on documents of counting of people hit by this problem of public policy. Aim of this thesis is to identify and evaluate analytical approaches used by fourteen big cities in the Czech Republic, in the process of counting homeless there. At first this paperwork brings information about policy analysis and its ways of use in our country, with focus on advisory documents, which documents of counting belong. Further, I discuss problem of homelessness and the ways of understanding it in context of this thesis. Other chapters are dedicated to two disciplines from social sciences field - Public policy, and Social and Cultural anthropology. These served as optics for identification of analytical approaches via their key characteristics. I also mention interdisciplinarity as "canopy" for my own approach towards this topic. By using method of content analysis this work elicits in detail the ways in how the counting in above mentioned cities done in 2007-2017 and how these results may contribute to interdisciplinary solution of the given problem. The last chapter gives outcomes based on analysis, which implicates diversity of concepts used in these documents, their aims and methods, and also possible suggestions for applications of the achieved...
Social housing in municipalities of the Czech Republic: policy design and target populations
Broklová, Tereza ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Nekola, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with setting of a system of social housing in the municipalities of the Czech Republic. It is based in particular on the Concept of Social Housing of the Czech Republic 2015-2025, as the legislation on social housing in the Czech Republic has not yet been approved by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The system is very fragmented for the above reason, there is no consensus in the definition, not even in determining to whom and under what conditions social housing should be allocated. The thesis builds on Schneider and Ingram public policy theory, the theory of social construction of target populations ("TSKCP"). The two main concepts of TSCTP - target population and policy design are the optics and subject of analysis. The most important research activity could be described as an analysis of the availability of social housing in 2nd level municipalities, which was implemented in the form of survey of 388 municipal webpages in order to find out the mention and methodology of providing social housing. Additional interviews with social and housing commissioners took place within one region of the Czech Republic, where we can presume similar socio-economic conditions, but due to anonymity, it cannot be specified more precisely. From the methodological...

Gender inequalities in the Czech labour market from the perspective of women in managerial positions - a case study
Holubová, Šárka ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Hondlíková, Kristýna (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with gender inequalities in the Czech labour market. More specifically, it focuses on women in managerial positions and tries to find out from what perspective we should look at the issue. The choice of this specific group of women is as follows because they are the ones who have gone through the entire career process to the highest management positions. An important partial objective is the related factors that can influence the participation of women in the labour market. The bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical and concerns the issue of vertical gender segregation. It introduces the basic concepts, substantial statistics, and previous research on the subject. The second part outlines the basic and partial aims of the bachelor thesis and related research questions. The third part deals with methodology and method of data analysis. It also contains individual stories of respondents. This is the last practical part that focuses on specific results and findings. These are interpreted in connection with the theoretical anchor and extend the previous research on the subject.
Pre-primary education: relations between kindergarten and family
Konrádová, Kateřina ; Mouralová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This diploma thesis concerns the topic of pre-primary education in the Czech Republic with a special focus on the school-family relations. The general aim of this study is to examine and describe the relations between kindergarten (principals/teachers) and family (parents of children) in the contemporary reality of these schools. Moreover, this text deals with the relations between mentioned stakeholders from the perspective of partnership and accountability which constitute its theoretical background. The objectives are fulfilled via qualitative research, particularly twelve semi-structured interviews with principals/teachers of public kindergartens, and analysis of relevant public policy documents. Based on the qualitative research among these respondents, it concludes that the relations between the actors involved correspond more to the concept of accountability than partnership. The text also indicates that accountability and partnership are rather contradictory concepts. The principals/teachers feel accountable to the parents and they also declare very strong responsibility towards the children themselves. The research findings also show in more detail the discrepancy between the strongly reflected interest of respondents in a partnership and its absence, with a particular attention paid to the reasons...
