The ethics of garden

The goal of this diploma thesis called "Ethics of the Garden" is to introduce the ecological-ethical issue and the closely related question about the role of a mankind in the world. First of all, the main aim is to introduce the ecological-ethical concept of the American author Michael Pollan. In this concept, a garden is viewed as a source of elementary ethical principals that are applicable in the relationship of mankind to nature. That is why it is called "Ethics of the Garden". The practical part of the thesis is dedicated to the individual principles of this concept. It introduces its characteristics and it also gives specific examples of the practical application of the principles of the "Ethics of the garden" within the context of central Europe. Here only very few original ecosystems (untouched by human intervention) have survived and it is hard to find an ideal solution for the coexistence of mankind and nature. Impulses for the Ministerial Priesthood in the Life and Work of Jan Evangelista Urban.

The thesis deals with the life and work of the Prague Franciscan priest Jan Evangelista Urban. Within his writings it looks for the impulses that could help contemporary priests to live their own priesthood authentically. The first chapter introduces Urban's personality, his selected contemporaries and the historical context. The second chapter looks for key topics in relation to priestly life in Urban's speeches and other extant sources. The third chapter is focused on the way how to live the priestly life in everyday conditions; it also presents Urban's idea of a real and authentic disciple of God. The second and the third chapter contain a personal reflection and synthesis that tries to catch the principal message of Urban's thought.

Death penalty and its perception at the Apostolic Church The Diploma thesis deals with the death penalty and its perception at the Apostolic Church. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the concept of punishment, its function and purpose. It deals with the arguments of the opponents and proponents of absolute punishment, their weakness and strengths. It describes the purpose of punishment in the Bible and interprets the Old Testament and the New Testament passages that deal with the highest punishment. The empirical part of the thesis examines the views and opinions of leaders in the Apostolic Church on the issue of the capital punishment. To determine the data of the thesis is used a quantitative investigation.
Influence of leisure activities on the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities

This thesis deals with leisure activities that have an impact on leisure and quality of life of persons with severe mental disabilities. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of people with intellectual disabilities, their social integration, the concept of quality of life and leisure activities for the full use of their free time. The practical part is devoted to leisure activities that are provided to clients with severe mental disabilities in Liberec DH. In this part the processing of his observations in the context of the research. In conclusion evaluates the fulfillment of the objectives of this thesis.
Moral Topics in the First Fifty Years of the Journal of the Catholic Clergy

The thesis "The moral issue in the first fifty years of the Journal of the Catholic clergy" briefly presents the social and religious situation of the Czech Lands in the Austrian Empire. During this period the Czech national movement was being completed: a form of emancipation of the modern Czech civil society from the old feudal structures Estates (Chapter 1). What was happening in the Church at that time has been associated with the pontificate of Pope Pius IX ., who defended consistency in the deposit of faith, in keeping with the spirit of novoscholastika (Chapter 2). The Czech consciousness of its own nationalism was in a state of awakening and this framework naturally suited the Magazine Catholic Clergy (Chapter 3). The main contributors were the Czech theologians and parsons (Chapter 4). Authors in the Catholic Clergy responded very plainly, clearly and pointedly, especially to the socio - political events happening in the Austrian Empire and near Europe at the time. The question is, why they did not react similarly in connection to the events taking place in the Church. In those cases when they did respond, the content of the articles, merely stated the problem rather than reflect upon it (Chapter 5). Jesus Christ is the only one Norm of Christian Moral: Sacramentum et Exemplum and it 's Moral Meaning in the Work of Benedict XVI. Jesus Christ commands the love to his apprentices in The Farewell Speech (John 13,34 and 15,12) but he commands de facto himself, because he is incorporated love. He is the sacrament - Sacramentum, we take him at communion where our being is converted, we are disposed to love. He is also the example - Exemplum, which is teaching us to live in love and to do deeds of love. These aspects are the topic of this work. The first task is to analyze moral meanings both of the aspects in the work of Benedict XVI. The triptych Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus-Buch in Germ. abbreviation) is considered as a key work. Also all the pope's encyclicals are in indirect dialog with Jesus-Buch, mainly the Deus caritas est. The Spirit of the Liturgy is important in the topic as well. "Role of the media in decision-making about charity to help the needy" This thesis deals with the role of media in decision-making of an individual relating to charitable activities in the Czech society. The theoretical part turns attention to both basic topics, ie, the media and charity. The part concerning the media tries to show the linkage and interaction of media, as means of communication, and society, as the object of their action and influence. It deals with means of communication and subsequent transformation of the society. The thesis does not forget to mention responsibility of the media and the related ethics of media. The part relating to the charity presents output data from realized research on the charity work in the Czech Republic, information on donations and on credibility of organizations providing assistance to the needy. Conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on cooperation of the media and charitable organizations in organizing the most significant charitable events. Moral aspects of contraception from the perspective of present catholic couples Most women in productive age choose any form of conception control. Catholic Church accepts only natural contraceptive methods. Fertility awareness-based methods are cheap, ecological but for necessity of managing the method more complicated forms of contraception. It is also little promoted and by doctors mostly considered to be less reliable and that's why it is not often recommended by gynecologists in contrast to widely promoted and used hormonal contraception. The topic of this dissertation is how do present catholic couples cope with this problem. The aim of the work is to give comprehensive description of basic types of in present used contraception and after that bring the view of particular contraception methods from the perspective of the Catholic Church doctrine. By the questionnaire survey in practical part is evaluated what are the attitudes of present catholic coulpes to contraception in comparison with official Catholic Church doctrine. Marriage and divorce in the Czech Republic in light of present morality

The work draws a comparison between different views on marriage and divorce (e.g. from the perspective of the Catholic Church, profane view, the legal system of the Czech Republic). The aim of the study is to compare convictions and development of views on marriage and divorce in contemporary society. The work observes the release of morals under the influence of television and commercials. A question, whether art reflects the reality of people's lives, or determines them, also needs to be asked. Further, it examines if current people are able to think critically and looks at people's motivation. Other question is, how hard it may be to do a right thing when major society became reconciled to wrong. The issues will be answered in questionnaires. It is necessary to note though that the work is not binding as the research does not include a sufficient amount of questionnaires. In the work, the released sexuality and reasons for being "single" will be investigated. Using statistics we will try to predict the future course and to analyse natural and sacramental values of marriage, double indissolubility and unity, the relationship of marriage and society. Environmental responsibility of household and its influence on the social relations

Anotácia v anglickom jazyku: The aim of this thesis is to find out whether there is an interconnection between environmental responsibility and social relations. On the basis of ecological and theological texts we will analyse the issue of individual environmental responsibility in a household and its influence on human relations visible mainly in the families. Do we realize that polluting nature pollutes also ourselves? The first part discusses theoretical background of the issue. Subsequently this knowledge will be applied on actual problems, like separation, energy savings and other activities connected to a life in a household. This issue will also be analysed utilizing sociological research. Is there a difference in perception of environmental responsibility between secularized and Christian population? As a scope for the eco - ethical research, encyclical of Benedict XVI. Caritas in Veritate is used.
