Econonomic analyze of library services. Case study.

This bachelor's thesis deals with economic analysis of library services. Theoretical part explains reasons why the libraries are financed by public sector and there are described principles of economic activities of library. There are also specified types of library services as well as possibilities of their valuation by means of using various methods. In practical part of this thesis the main characteristics of the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava are defined. Ultimately the costs of the library are analysed and library services are evaluated in relation to library users during the years 2011 - 2015.
Analysis and Implementation of a System for the Circulation of Electronic Documents in Plzeňská teplárenská, a.s.

The thesis presents an analysis of the ten administrative procedural document flows, by which was developed and implemented a workflow system in the company Plzeňská teplárenská, a.s. Analysis processes are: Purchase requirement, Income invoice, Supply contract, Tender, Investment plan, Customer contract, Decommissioning of property, Travel order, New employee, Output sheet. Analysis of each process contains a description of the process with diagram circulation of documents and table with data that arise in individual steps. Analysis and reengineering of choosing processes took place on the basis of the decision of the company management. During of implementation appear number of problems resulting from the large scale of the project, from the shortcomings in the analysis, the lack of users and small support leadership, which led to the extension of the period projects to double the planned time. Currently, the system is in routine operation and brought all of the anticipated effects. Information support in financial institution

(anglicky) This thesis entitled Information support in a financial institution discusses how information services and resources are currently used internally in an institution focusing on the Czech banking environment. The reader is thus provided an insight directly into the organization and the position it takes towards working with information aiming at fulfilment of its employees' information needs. The thesis also reflects description of the most important information sources. Information needs of employees were analyzed and identified based on their frequency of occurrence and distribution across the bank. The following part of the work covers detailed identification of information services. The reader is hereby given the opportunity to find out where, by whom and to what extent the services are used. The conclusion deals primarily with the information models of the flow of information in the organization and the analysis of various entities affecting the relevant processes.
Basic population register in relation to administration information systems: Data sharing in public administration Czech republic

The work analyzes the current status of the basic population register in relation to agenda information systems. The theoretical part is focused on basic registers in general with a particular attention being paid to the population register. The analytical part examines in detail the current status of all configured and implemented processes that have a direct impact on the functionality of the basic population register in relation to agenda information systems and subsequent data sharing in the public administration of the Czech Republic. Attention is focused on the use and provision of reference data through Web services and information system of basic registers. The paper also analyzes the various approaches of agenda information systems of public authorities to basic Population Register and the implementation of sub-projects that have a direct impact on its operation. Evaluation of individual areas assessed is done using a statistical survey.
Information Support of Project Teams

The aim of the diploma thesis is to outline the possibilities of information support of project teams by an Informational Specialist. The theoretical part introduces different project management methodologies and further specifies the individual project phases as seen by PMBoK methodology. In the chapters focusing on each of the phases of a project, all necessary input sources as well as all output documents that are essential for the project to move on to its next phase are defined and elaborated on. This part is followed by a description of possibilities of information support for working with information sources and creating output documents with regard to competencies, which an Information Specialist should have. Key in this respect is the third and the fourth chapter, including specific proposals on the possibility of information support of a project team by an Information Specialist. The practical part is focused on the role of an Information Specialist in the implementation of a specific project in a company - in particular, a major financial institution on the Czech market. While the theoretical part is based on the study of literature, the practical part is mainly based on personal consultation with a Project Manager of the company.
Cloud Computing in Public Sector - Benefits and Risks

(anglicky) This thesis deals with benefits and risks of using cloud computing in public sector institutions. The thesis focuses mainly on the usage of public cloud deployment model. The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first chapter presents definition and basic characteristics of cloud computing. The second part consists of PESTL analysis that describes the impact of macro-environmental factors (namely political, economical, social, technological and legal factors) on the use of cloud computing in public sector institutions. The third part presents SWOT analysis of cloud computing and its use in public sector. The fourth chapter presents a case study of the implementation of cloud computing services at The Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. The results of the conducted analysis tend to positive effects of cloud computing use in public sector institutions, presuming a proper risk analysis is done before implementation begins. Personal, Professional and Social Qualities of a Project Manager

The MA thesis is divided to two basic parts. First of them is dealing with personal, social and professional knowledge of a project manager and the second one is mapping the education of soft skills at Czech universities where the subject of study "Information Studies and Librarianship" is taught. The theoretical part is devoted to project management. The attention is devoted to basic terms from project management's area, it represents the most well-known project methodologies, it defines particular roles of a project manager and most importantly the part is dealing with particular competences, which should be commanded by a project manager. The last chapter of theoretical part is devoted to an analysis of the three most well-known project methodologies. The practical part is mapping the situation at universities - namely which subjects they offer within the education of soft skills and how the teachers are working with the subject. Other activities of universities within the education and the development of soft skills are also given. Further the examples of subjects with the same topic taught at American universities are listed. In the end of thesis the recommendation how to improve the quality of teaching soft skill at Czech universities are given. And also which topics could be put among optional...
Analysis of the project "Information system of basic registers" and its implementation

This diploma thesis deals with Information system of basic registries and its implementation. The information system consists of four main registries (Registry of Inhabitants, Registry of Persons, Registry of Territorial Identification, Addresses and Real Estates and Registry of Rights and Obligations) and system of ORG. The thesis defines crucial documents which deal with this project and the basic terms of Basic Registries Act No. 111/2009 Coll. and other related acts are explained. This thesis also compares the public administration before and after the activation of basic registries and the most important part is public survey which discovers knowledge about basic registries and responds to determined hypotheses.
M-commerce as a new purchasing phenomenon

(in English): Thesis deals with the phenomenon of m-commerce. History section briefly describes the evolution and significant moments for further development of this segment and its subsequent adaptation. It also discusses the types of transactions that are carried out through mobile devices and also about technologies that allow for a gradual transformation of these devices into multifunctional objects. The fourth chapter deals with the evaluation of practical research, which was carried out by me. The research was focused on the typology of purchases that are realized by Czech users through their mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) in relation to mobile smartphone platform, which they own.
Analysis of the integrated traffic information system of the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis describes in detail the Integrated traffic information system of the Czech republic, analyzes the individual components and their functions. Author presents the history of the system and the legislative basis and introduces the scheme of the system. It deals with the ways in which data are collected by agenda systems, telematics systems and drivers, how are evaluated as traffic incidents and how are transmitted to the National traffic information and control center, where they are processed. After processing traffic information is distributed to customers - public administrative, Internet portals, proffesionals or using modern technology directly to drivers. Reader gets familiar with modern telematics systems which currently helps manage traffic on roads and highways almost in real time.
