Elastic proton-proton collisions at high energies
Procházka, Jiří ; Kundrát, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Sýkora, Tomáš (referee) ; Dubnička, Stanislav (referee)
The proton, one of the basic constituents of atoms, was discovered around 1920. Its structure has been intensively studied since that time mainly with the help of proton- proton collision experiments. Main progress has started when corresponding experiments at the world's first hadron collider ISR at CERN which ran from 1971 to 1984 were performed. The understanding of the structure and interactions of this subatomic particle protons has been, however, rather incomplete. Only some very general models have been available especially in the case of higher collision energies when very different kinds of collisions have existed. Some very simplifying assumptions of unclear physical meaning have been then involved in models concerning elastic processes. The influence of these assumptions on physical interpretation has started to be studied and some progress has been made when the eikonal model has been proposed, i.e., the dependence of elastic collisions on corresponding impact parameter values has been taken into account from the beginning. However, even if some new results have been obtained many unanswered questions have remained. For example, the collision process has been denoted generally as probabilistic but corresponding probabilities have not been sufficiently defined and determined. The given thesis contains,...
Mobile Robot Localization in Indoor Scenarios
Sýkora, Tomáš ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
The goal of this project was to create a software for an autonomous mobile robot capable of navigation in indoor scenarios and of detection and recognition of the objects on its way. An important condition that the final software had to meet was to find the cheapest solution possible. I achieved the given goal and its conditions using an open source software framework Robotic Operating System (ROS) and its tools. The final system is a set of ROS modules communicating with each other, using a single sensor as an input data stream and a small motor which is able to send information about its velocity and rotations to the control part of the system. This mobile robot can, without any significant problems, navigate through a mapped area while trying to find trained objects. Such a robot could be easily used (after adding specific mechanical parts) to help retired or disabled people, to cooperate with industry workers or in many other fields.
Foreign exchange reserves and their influence on performance of Czech National Bank
Sýkora, Tomáš ; Koderová, Jitka (advisor) ; Šíma, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on foreign exchange reserves, which are closely related to performance of central bank, namely Czech National Bank. Theoretical part sketches out general concept of foreign exchange reserves and how to understand them in a balance sheet. Additionally, it shows their purpose in foreign exchange rate systems which are more detailed described bellow and what influence they have on performance of national bank. Practical part shows a development of foreign exchange reserves of Czech National Bank since 1993. First, due to fixed foreign exchange rate and then since 2013 due to intervention of Czech National Bank, it accumulated a huge amount of foreign exchange reserves in its balance sheet. That was the cause of open foreign exchange position. The thesis analyses the relation between foreign exchange reserves and performance of Czech National Bank, which hugely depends on revaluation differences of foreign exchange reserves. It also focuses on a dilemma, whether it truly is a problem for Czech National Bank to suffer a loss from expected appreciation of Czech Koruna after leaving the intervention obligation.
Implementing technology visualisation in COMES
Sýkora, Tomáš ; Pásek, Jan (referee) ; Kaczmarczyk, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with visualization of laboratory tasks in the COMES production information system from Compas automatizace s.r.o. The first part describes the COMES system and its individual parts. The second part deals with the description of the laboratory task. The third part describes the program part of the work with a detailed description for easy extension of the task. And the final part is dedicated to the documentation of the created application.
Role of the external information for the decision processes
Sýkora, Tomáš ; Papík, Richard (advisor) ; Basl, Josef (referee)
The work is focused on determination of relation of strategic management, decision processes and information systems. The emphases are put also on the role of external information in the business environment and determination of related concepts. The goal of the work is to describe the mentioned relevant factors which determine the common relation not only in the business environment, those which leads to the achievement of the competitive strength. The work is further focused on external information from the business and competitive intelligence point of view. Part is also focused on the theoretical aspects of knowledge management and work with knowledge. There are presented two outputs of opinion study, first focused on strategic management and information management in enterprise and society, second focused on decision processes in an enterprise.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HARMONY AND TIMBRE IN ORCHESTRAL COMPOSITIONS BY MARIA SCHNEIDER AND TRISTAN MURAIL
Sýkora, Tomáš ; MRKVIČKA, Ladislav (advisor) ; HOŘÍNKA, Slavomír (referee)
Actual music theory and practice in contemporary classical music and jazz are closely connected with the matters of creation various harmonies and timbres. The works by the most respective composers such as Maria Schneider (in jazz music) and Tristan Murail (in contemporary classical music) are crucial for their aproach to this theme. The analysis of both compositional aproaches and consideration of a possibility of connecting them is the main topic of this paper.
