Network design support
Zemánek, Martin ; Fojtová, Lucie (referee) ; Pelka, Tomáš (advisor)
The work is focused on support of computer networks. It contains basic information about the network elements and possibilities of their involvement. The steps are described so that all procedures were intelligible. The work contains various thoughts on various options for integration of network and end elements to be as effective as possible. Shown are various examples of design documentation, which should serve primarily as a good springboard. We can see the lists of VLANs, IP addresses, calculations of energy consumption and cooling requirements. The introductory section also presents a variety of topology and characteristics of networks and network elements. We deal with various technologies such as QoS, PoE, EteherChannel, Trunking, and more. We are also stacking switches and effective involvement of network elements. All these information was collected and on the basis of these applications have been developed, which should serve as online network documentation. The application is writing with Nette Framework, which also has support for Czech, so it is much material available, which relieved the work in an environment of PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS. The result is a basic version that is ready to further develop and to be as user friendly as possible and ease the job of designing the network.
SAN data storage
Pružinský, Ján ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Pust, Radim (advisor)
The main goal of this project is a familiarization with the protocol iSCSI and with its implementation into the SAN network. Firstly, the focus is aimed towards a theoretical analysis of the SAN data storage, description of its individual parts as well as its realization within the network. In the second part, the description of the protocol iSCI includes an explanation of particular abbreviations and terms. Every possibility of securing this protocol is fully processed and, moreover, the implementation in OS Linux and OS MS Windows Server is deeply explained. The practical part is devoted to configuring iSCSI Target in OS Linux and configuring iSCSI Initiator in OS linux and OS Windows. The last part is devoted to creating a Web interface to control the iSCSI Target.
Wireless Communication in Fire Sport
Pelka, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work describes the design of wireless timer for fire sport disciplines. Its aim is to replace long wires with wireless communication while preserving equal or better reliability. Important part is the need for clock synchronization between wireless modules. Related topic is selection of suitable synchronization algorithm and communication protocol. The proposed system was realized in form of prototype using Texas Instruments's development platform LaunchPad EXP 430 FR4133 and wireless modules with Texas Instruments's chip CC1101. Parameters of designed system (especially the accuracy of time synchronization and measurement) were verified in laboratory.
Advanced filtering operation in the Linux operating system
Janura, Dominik ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Szőcs, Juraj (advisor)
This thesis is oriented on the subject of advanced filtering operations and network security under Linux operating system. It explains the procedure of creating a simple packet filtering firewall using the netfilter framework and verifies its efectivity. It further examines the options of user identification in peer-to-peer networks using L7-filtering. It contains design of a system that detects traffic in the most used P2P networks. This system’s function is attested by simulating a P2P traffic inside the local network.
File exchange on the internet
Tropp, Peter ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The main aim of my thesis was the TCP/IP protocol issue and the data transfer over the internet using FTP protocol. The thesis is demonstrating the main settings of a server, his functionality and it further describes the development and use of HTML and PHP protocols in my created application. The final chapter of my thesis explaining the resolution of web application interfaces for complex work with and portability in virtual environments.
Secured access for web applications
Humpolík, Jan ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Doležel, Radek (advisor)
This thesis mainly concerns often neglected security part of each web application, but also secure access users themselves. Describes theoretically and practically modern security technology, on a web application being tested and shows a possible way of defense. Gives instructions for installing its own web server.
Network design support software
Špidla, Aleš ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Pelka, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is aimed at supporting of designing of computer networks. The thesis describes the steps which follows to successful propose of computer network. Furthermore, it discusses errors which should be avoided, the various recommendations from the positioning of devices in the patch panel, to allocating the address space of IP addresses. There is also mentioned three level hierarchy of networks, QoS, problems of VLANs and switches cascade connection. A large part describes the benefits of stackable switches, their inclusion in the network, and then describes the advantages of different kinds of PoE (Power over Ethernet) devices. Also noteworthy is the chapter, which deals with IP networks. It points out how to allocate IP addresses and it also describing the most frequently used method for allocating subnets which is reverse binary method. The last part is devoted to the description of the application, which allows users to learn about different variants of switches, VoIP phones, find out the advantages and disadvantages of different transmission media, or the difference between software or hardware firewall. The output of this application is form, which can serve as network documentation.
Continual helicoidal mixer
Pelka, Tomáš ; Malach, František (referee) ; Malášek, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma project works out and is focused on the continual mixing process of the particular matters. The project is divided into following chapters. Chapter 1 includes mixing theory and information of the experimental work of the particular matters for blade using. In chapter 2 there is Evaluation and calculation of the technical parameters for the mixer. Chapter 3 deals with the engine proposal and chapter 4 includes calculation and design work of the gear transmission. Chapter 5 includes the stress analysis of the shaft and blade with the I-deas software. In attachment there are also the mixer arrangement drawing and detailed drawings of the key parts and groups for the mixer.
Laboratories with CCENT Network Visualiser
Kadlčík, Michal ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
This work describes design and practical realization of three laboratory works for students of MNSB. These works are aimed to practice basics of computer networks, especially the configuration of LAN, IP addressing and routing. Local desktop simulator of computer networks CCENT Network Visualizer is used as a training program. Networks are created with the help of several graphical objects, which are configured and diagnosed as a part of this lab work. Additionally there is software that supports studying in the form of web pages, where the lab tasks are mentioned with correct results and some examples. Also the possibility of taking included tests and evaluation of answers. The simulator combined with the software is run by students on VMware virtual machine, so the work deals as well with the implementation on computer workstations.
Principals, switching functions and routing techniques in computer networks
Dvořák, Pavel ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis consider main principles and function of active network components. Mainly is intent to component working on the third level of referential model ISO/OSI, router. There are described its main parts and more closely charactered routing protocols. Then is verified the ability of dynamic routing to react to failure in the network and there is measured the reaction time of crossing to secondary route when using different routing protocols. Another part of the thesis is focused on the questions of Quality of Service (QoS) and its support in computer networks. There are explored various ways of the QoS configuration on the routers and the proper of them is chosen and applied to the test network.
