Comments of Patočka's lectures on Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit

The aim of this diploma thesis is to offer a comprehensive commentary of Patočka's unpublished lectures on Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit, which he gave at the Charles University during the summer semester of 1949. These lectures remain unfinished and the exposition of the Phenomenology of Spirit ends before the chapter on morality. Patočka is influenced, to a considerable degree, by the unorthodox reading of Hegel that Kojéve presents in his Inroduction à la lecture de Hegel (1947) and also by a somewhat more conservative commentary by Jean Hyppolite, published in 1946 under the title Genese et structure de la Phénoménologie de l'esprit de Hegel. This thesis follows their influence on Patočka's commentary, in an attempt to discover Patočka's own interpretative stance. Patočka places the Phenomenology of Spirit into a wide context and tries to illustrate its genesis. Following Kojéve, Patočka's interpretation remains nested within an anthropological perspective, considering the master-slave dialectic to be the centerpiece of Hegel's philosophy.

Tato publikace, která je určena pracovníkům pověřených k plnění úkolů v oblasti prevence rizik, shrnuje nejnovější poznatky z oblasti ergonomie pracovního místa získané jak výzkumem v této oblasti, tak i převzetím řady zkušeností ze zahraničí. Práce srozumitelným způsobem rozebírá jednotlivé prvky pracovního systému, hodnotí je, uvádí do kontextu s požadavky současných právních předpisů a předkládá praktická doporučení pro zlepšení nedostatků často se objevujících na našich pracovištích. Účelem této publikace je tedy umožnit zavádění ergonomických zásad týkajících se pracovního místa do praxe, upozornit na jeho podstatné prvky, jako jsou například pracovní stůl, sedadlo či pomůcky, a z hlediska pracovního prostředí blíže upozornit na faktory, které zásadním způsobem ovlivňují pracovní podmínky (např. mikroklimatické podmínky, osvětlení, ale i psychická zátěž a další).

The concept of existence by Karl Jaspers

EN: Jaspers came to philosophy from medicine and psychology. Unique personal situation, authentic life experience, unrepeatable faithful self-respect turned psychopathologist Jaspers from psychiatric physiology of soul to the thesis of ciphers of transcendence, borderline, edge and horizon. He constituted his own pattern of the thinker not only as an explaining teacher, but also as co-creator of original ethics, based on deep comprehension of the other, importance of encompassing communication between man and man. First section of my work deals with the concept of Border. Our attitudes and picture of the universe and its evaluation are limited by borders. The holistic complex being remains behind the horizon The second part is dedicated to border-line situation as an phenomenon of possibility, as seen from the point of view of Jaspers own existence, as presented in his Philosophy, including commentary based on new translations by Vaclav Nemec Closing part deals with existential communication and holistic transition from possible to new horizons of transcendence. My interpretation of chosen excerpts comes mostly from "Allgemeine Psychopathologie" "Psychologie der Weltanschauungen." Quotations appear in my own translation. The Phenomenon of Scouting from Philosphical Perspective

The presented historical-philosophical diploma thesis depicts the scouting phenomenon, which demands a specific type of morality and produces specific individuality. We interpret a scout human through the following themes: the personˈs relation to nature and to God. We will demonstrate that contact with nature is closely related to the demand placed on versatile personality development in the sense of the Ancient Greek term kalokagathia. Using the writings of J. J. Rousseau, E. T. Seton and H. Thoreau, we will focus on an idealized form of the return to nature. We will further delve into scoutsˈ attitudes towards the first Scouting principle: Duty to God. Last, but not least, we will demonstrate that only mature consciences establish free and responsible action. This action is, however, conditioned by a dialogue with a higher force. A scout human is therefore defined by both; their specific attitude to nature and their acknowledgement of spiritual life. Only a life in harmony with those two constants leads scouts towards meaningful humanity.

Thematic Atlas of Vineyards of Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to design and create thematic atlas of the winery named Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora. In the theoretical part, there is carried out a research on the creation of cartographic outputs on a similar topic. Based on the research and concept defined by Voženílek and Kaňok (2011), which is focused on creation of maps and atlases, in ArcGIS and Inkscape software is made a draft of thematic atlas including map key. Robert Burton: Melancholy in Early Modern European Society

The aim of this thesis is to provide a close reading and a philosophical and anthropological interpretation of Burton's understanding of the concept of melancholy (as well as the concept of the human being and the world) as it is presented in his work The Anatomy of Melancholy. The primary objective will be gradually to respond to the following questions: How did Burton perceive the concept of melancholy? How did he make use of it within his notion of the melancholic world? Based on this, his vision of a remedy to the melancholic disease afflicting the whole world, together with the form of this treatment presented in The Anatomy of Melancholy will be thereafter shown and explained. This task will be preceded by an analysis situated on the edge between the history of ideas and intellectual history, cultural history, and philosophical anthropology with a small overlap with the history of mentalities. This analysis will firstly reveal the diversity and rich history of the concept of melancholy and, subsequently, open up the intellectual milieu and ideas which form the basis of Burton's notion of the problem of the melancholic world and its treatment.
