The use of human-oriented approaches in the elderly losing communication skills

My bachelor thesis is aimed on a comparison of two man-oriented approches. It is a psychobiographic model of care according to professor Böhm and reminescence. The intention is to compare the possible use of these models from the view of the workers in the direct daily care in senior houses for clients who are gradually loosing their communication skills. For the comparison, I used a semi-structured interview as a tool of qualitative method. The primary source of information was intently selected respondents from a specific facility, i.e. senior house.

Strengthening intergenerational relationships in the family through reminiscence

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of the method of reminiscence specifically to boost intergenerational relationships in a family. It discusses especially the possibilities of strengthening relationships between grandparents and grandchildren by means of common thinking back and of time spent together. It works on the conviction of importance and uniqueness of the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren. The thesis introduces a reminiscence pilot project "Treasury of memories" for pupils of fourth year of primary school, discusses its signification, evaluates its contributions and concerns areas which proved to be insufficiently functional.

The effect of family cooperation on quality of life of a senior with dementia at the Home and Short Stay Hospital of St. Agnes the Czech

This bachelor thesis entitled "The effect of family cooperation on quality of life of a senior with dementia at the Home and Short Stay Hospital of St Agnes the Czech", is focused on the discovery of the significance of the cooperation between a senior's family and the personnel of the relevant social facilities. The level of this cooperation gets reflected in different areas of the senior care, and finally into the quality of seniors' lives. The term "senior dementia" is being discussed, as well as some other relevant terms and topics. Further on, the bachelor thesis reports on various methods of senior care suitable for cooperation with the seniors' families, as are used by the employees of the Farní Charita Beroun Hospital. A project by this institution is also focused on here -the foundation of a supporting group which helps to encourage and cooperate the liaison between the employees and the families. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on how the employees of social facilities perceive the cooperation with the users' families and how they can make the care, as well as the seniors' life quality, better. Seniors with dementia and Psychobiographic model prof. Erwina Böhma

The main objective of this theses is elderly people suffering from dementia and a Psycho-biographical Erwin Böhm care model. The thesis is divided into three theoretical parts and one practical part, which focuses on the the theoretical process of acceptance elderly people into a non-profit organization that works with the above mentioned model. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the terms of aging and all the difficulties brought by this stage of life. The second chapter firstly clarifies the terms of dementia and Alzheimer disease and secondly it explains the different sorting and alternatives in therapies of these diseases. The third part focuses on the Erwin Böhm care model and clarifies all the care principles. The final chapter describes the non-profit organization elderly home Sue Ryder, z.ú. and it also creates an overview of two different ways on how to accept a client into this organization.

The theme of my thesis is entitled "Effect of reminiscence therapy on the adaptation process in a residential facility Seniors Center Melnik". The aim of this thesis is to determine whether reminiscence therapy has a positive effect on the adaptation process. The text deals with the many terms that relate to the topic. The first deals with terms associated with aging, old age and signs and deals with social services for seniors, residential facilities, adaptation process and reminiscence therapy. The last section is devoted residential facility center for the elderly Melnik. This part contains basic information about the device, but also a specific insight into the adaptation process and methodology reminiscence therapy at the Center of seniors Melnik. Protection of Seniors Rights in Residental Facilities

This thesis deals with the protection of human rights of seniors in residential social institutions. The thesis describes the development of social care of the elderly people. The importance of the law on social services, social services quality standards and related quality of social services and its control are stressed. The thesis is further focused on experience in protecting the rights of older people in residential facilities. Thermal Convection in Terrestrial Planetary Mantles

In this thesis, we present results of a numerical modelling study focused on the thermal evolution of the Earth and terrestrial planets. We focus particularly on two problems: I) constraining the internal structure of Venus and Mercury using their geoid and surface topography data and II) evaluating the effects of a rhe- ologically distinct post-perovskite on the secular cooling of the Earth. In part I, we performed simulations in a broad group of models of the Venusian man- tle, characterised by different rheological descriptions, and we compared spectra of their geoid and their surface topography with the observed quantities. Our analysis suggested that the geoid and the surface topography of Venus are con- sistent with a radially symmetric viscosity model with a strong 200 km thick lithosphere, without an asthenosphere and with a gradual viscosity increase in the underlying mantle. In the case of Mercury, none of our models was able to predict observed data, thus suggesting other than a dynamic origin of observed geoid and topography. The bachelor thesis Social agriculture: innovation for social work presents social farming as a tool to promote and develop physically and socially disadvantaged persons which is based on agricultural activities. The purpose of social farming is to create within farms or through agricultural activities conditions that enable the integration of persons with special needs into mainstream society while ensuring improvement in their physical and mental condition and promoting the quality of their social relationships. The thesis describes the concept of social farming, defines its users and its providers. It deals with its history and status in some European countries and focuses in more detailed way on the current state of social farming in the Czech Republic. The author confirms its quality and limitations by introducing foreign research studies in this area, and in her own research on the two social farms in the Czech Republic. Coping with Loneliness in Old Age

The aim of my thesis is to describe how do the older adults cope with loneliness, which coping strategies do they use. Loneliness is natural part of life and is interwoven in older age with many changes and losses. The method to achieve goal of my thesis was processing theoretical literature, outlining the determinants of loneliness and categorizing chosen coping strategies including their description and illustration on concrete cases. Two main approaches were used for categorizing of coping strategies in my thesis: problem-focused coping and emotional-focused coping. Problem-focused coping of older adults included for example those coping strategies: engaging the social support network and helping those who are in need.
