Ekologicky šetrné budovy - identifikace perspektiv pro zvýšení poptávky po dřevě a dřevařských výrobcích
Jedličková, Tereza
This bachelor thesis focuses on comparing and evaluating the certification systems BREEAM, LEED, SBToolCZ, and WELL in relation to the use of wood and wooden products in building constructions, and their potential impact on the assessment coefficient. The thesis describes how each system evaluates the use of wood, and the requirements for its sourcing and processing. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the basic properties of wood and wooden products, their advantages and disadvantages, and the ecological aspects associated with their use. The thesis also focuses on the ecological commitments of the Czech Republic, which increase emphasis on more sustainable construction and could support the hypothesis of the potential for increased demand for wood and wooden products in this area. In the practical part of the thesis, the individual certification systems are described, as well as the evaluation method and criteria for awarding certificates. Furthermore, the results of the comparison of the certification systems in terms of requirements for the use of wood and woo-den products in buildings are presented. In the conclusion, the results are summarized, and the ways in which the use of wood and wooden products can increase the chances of obtaining a certificate within each certification system are discussed.
Teaching geology from the point of view of the general public
Lacina, Martin Jakub ; Jedličková, Tereza (advisor) ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (referee)
Within the didactics of natural sciences, research on personal attitudes primarily focuses on the attitudes of direct participants in education, namely students and teachers. The opinions of the general public are often overlooked, even though they play a significant role in shaping students' attitudes. As part of a master's thesis, a questionnaire survey was conducted focusing on the attitudes and opinions of the general public towards geological sciences and their education. Additionally, students from the first and second year of secondary school and teachers of natural science subjects, were approached. The collected data was evaluated using selected statistical methods, which allowed, among other things, the comparison of responses from different target groups of respondents. A total of 727 respondents participated in the questionnaire survey (414 respondents from the general public, 201 students, and 112 teachers). The results indicate that the attitudes of the general public are generally positive. Geology is not considered a difficult and boring subject. Despite all three groups rating geology as an unpopular subject, they regard geological sciences as part of general education. Enthusiastic and motivated teachers, mineral and rock samples, field trips, and excursions are considered the...

Distance practical teaching and learning
Zdobinská, Helena ; Janštová, Vanda (advisor) ; Jedličková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis describes practical activities and related topics during forced distant education due to COVID-19 pandemic. In the theoretical part of thesis, the distant education is defined. I also described some of its features, which includes absence of physical contact, use of communication platforms, synchrony and asynchrony form of lesson, need for some degree of independence and digital competence. Anonymous questionnaires were made to collect the data from students and their science subjects' teachers (biology, chemistry, and physics). The questions were with free answers, closed answers with choices or scale values. Respondents consisted of 543 students and 24 teachers from Prague and Central Bohemian Region. The answers were categorized and frequencies calculated. The values of numeric answers such as mean, median, minimum and maximum were measured. The relationship between data was analysed by Pearson's chi squared test of independence. This study shows that teachers used practical activities such as experiments, observation or creating something less in distance lessons, compared to their face to face lessons. On the contrary tasks based on text work were used more often. The analysis showed that students preferred tasks containing creating something. Most teachers taught in both...
Local referendum
Jedličková, Tereza ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor) ; Kryska, David (referee)
Resumé The thesis examines local referendums, a form of direct democracy that is used the most in the Czech Republic. Nowadays, it is a standard part of municipal politics. The goal of the paper is to provide a complex analysis of the legislation, based primarily on relevant case- law, including the newest rendered in fall 2014. The thesis is composed of an introduction, nine chapters and a conclusion. The order of the paper largely follows the composition of the Act on Local Referendum. Chapter One examines the relevant constitutional and international legislation. Chapter Two describes the scope of topics that may be subjects of local referendums in general and also looks at the most frequent ones. Chapter Three concerns itself with the preparative committee - a body that puts forward the proposal to hold a local referendum - and examines its assembling and operation. Chapters Four and Five explores the review procedure of the committee's proposal conducted by municipal authorities and by municipal councils that render the final decision to hold a local referendum. Chapter Six focuses on the conditions that need to be fulfilled in order to achieve a valid and legally binding decision in a local referendum. Chapter Seven describes all four types of judicial review procedures that relate to local...
Pupils' Attitudes Toward Natural Science Lessons
Mastíková, Lucie ; Hlaváčová, Lucie (advisor) ; Jedličková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to find out satisfaction of lower secondary school pupils with science lessons, science classroom equipment, environment and topics in science that are missed by the pupils. Their requests regarding improvement and variegation of science education are also determined, which could contribute to increasing their motivation and interest in science. This diploma thesis maps, which topics of science or tools are mostly lacked by pupils. Their opinions are determined using questionnaires, which were filled by 221 pupils of Elementary school in Uhlířské Janovice in Central Bohemian Region. The results show that pupils would like to include more field work, science outings, excursions, group work, laboratory work, science documentaries, work with a microscope and they would also like to include some real animals. Some of the respondents wouldn't change anything regarding the science lessons. With respect to the results of the research, a daylong project with environmental studies, field work, collection of natural products and their processing was suggested for the particular elementary school.

Historical Evolution of Earth and Organisms on Earth in Textbooks for Secondary Education
Lacina, Martin Jakub ; Jedličková, Tereza (advisor) ; Matějka, Dobroslav (referee)
Teaching geology at lower and upper secondary school level in the Czech Republic consists of several compulsory thematic units established by the Framework Educational Programmes. Nevertheless, some topics are often not taught, despite they are included in textbooks. One of them is e.g. The Evolution of the Earth's Crust and Organisms on Earth. In this bachelor thesis the available textbooks are analysed according to this topic. The topic is discussed in terms of educational content, namely the occurrence and explanation of key concepts, selected subject matter and individual geological periods. Furthermore, the clarity of interpretation of this topic, cross curricular and interdisciplinary relations and additional information and questions for pupils were analysed. Based on the obtained information, one block of lessons was designed. It follows constructivist approach to learning and respects the current requirements for the modern concept of teaching. Main aim of the proposed lessons is to support the interest in chosen topic and to convey it to pupils and teachers in a more attractive way.

Comparison of the Integrated and Separated Approaches to the Natural Science Education at the ISCED 2 Level of Education in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway
Vožehová, Lucie ; Jedličková, Tereza (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
The present diploma thesis compares integrated education of natural science in the Norwegian Kingdom and education in the Czech Republic where natural science education is divided into a few separate subjects on the ISCED 2 educational level. The thesis summarises these two different approaches to science education, compares curricular documents and approaches to science teachers' education in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. The main objective of this work is to find the impact the different concept of science education has on a teacher's ability to answer students' complex questions integrating knowledge from different science subjects. To meet this objective, I chose to use qualitative research in which teachers were asked open-ended questions as part of a structured interview. The outcome of the research was that there are some differences in how the complex questions are answered based on the different approaches to science education. In many cases, however, the answers varied depending on the teacher. The research also discovered personal preferences of science teachers on the ISCED 2 level of education. Also, the strengths and weaknesses of both approaches are, to some extent, viewed differently. The comprehensive, research-backed, text may be used for discussion about...
