Design of Brněnská street - Miroslav
Veselý, Petr ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the elaboration of documentation for the issuance of a joint decision (DÚSP) for the project Modernization of Brněnská Street in Miroslav. The reason for the modernization is the emergency condition of the existing road and its unsatisfactory technical solution. The communication of functional group B (collection) is located in the urban area of the city. As part of the modernization of Brněnská Street, modifications of intersections, exits, sidewalks and parking spaces are also addressed.
Dependency of Asphalt Mixtures Low Temperature Properties on Binder Properties
Veselý, Petr
The paper deals with results of tests for low temperature properties of asphalt mixtures in correlation with results of tests on low temperature properties of the bitumen used in those. Properties of materials used in temperatures, which with changing climate keep approaching the critical value, are still very current topic, which cannot be overlooked. The aim of this paper is to point out the extent in which we can affect these properties with different binders. For this purpose, low temperature tests were carried out which include the thermal stress restrained specimen test to set critical temperature of asphalt mixture, Fraasse breaking point and the bending beam rheometer.
Effect of a dummy on behaviour of Yellowhammer and Chiffchaff males in playback experiments
Kubátová, Hana ; Petrusková, Tereza (advisor) ; Veselý, Petr (referee)
A playback experiment in which a recording of vocalization is played to the tested subject and its response is observed, is a widely used tool for examining bird song and its functions. Most often only acoustic stimulus is used, but sometimes a visual stimulus is also provided in the form of a dummy. Taxidermic mounts or models made from different materials are used as the dummy. It is discussed among researchers, whether it is or is not necessary to use a dummy in experiments and how does its presence affect behavior of the tested individuals. However, only few studies directly focus on this issue and test the effect of dummies. The best way to test the effects of a dummy on passerines in playback experiments is to test the same individuals in both situations (with a dummy and without a dummy) and compare the reactions. The aim of this theses was to perform such experiments on Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) and Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella) males and to find out whether they would behave similarly in both variants of the experiment, or if their reaction would be enhanced in the presence of a dummy. Chiffchaffs reacted significantly more aggressively in the dummy experiment. The biggest difference was time spent by attacking the dummy and staying close to it. In Yellowhammers, the dummy...
Legal Doctrine and Case Law Related to the Act on Protection Against Unfair Competition (1927) and Their Influence on the Current Law Against Unfair Competition
Veselý, Petr ; Patěk, Daniel (advisor) ; Hurychová, Klára (referee)
The subject matter of this thesis is the analysis of the Czech pre-WW2 legislation on unfair competition as laid out by the Act on Protection against Unfair Competition 111/1927 Sb. and the vast body of work concerning its interpretation and application as contained in both doctrinal works and especially the case law of the Czechoslovak Supreme Court. The thesis then attempts to thoroughly compare these to the relevant contemporary Czech case law and theoretical works. To achieve this goal, after a thorough preliminary analysis and selection of the relevant sources (especially applicable case law), the thesis lays out the most crucial legal questions and areas of interest in which the current legal doctrine and case law have been influenced by the pre-war era. The thesis contains thorough analysis of provisions containing vague legal terms, such as "good morals of competition", "business relations" or "average consumer" and attempts to put these into the context of legislation, legal doctrine and case law of the first Czechoslovak Republic. Considerable attention is also paid to the relationship between industrial property law and the law on unfair competition. The focus has been put on providing an analysis of the foundations that had shaped the legal thinking of the first Czechoslovak Republic in...
Low temperature properties of asphalt binders and mixtures
Veselý, Petr ; Koudelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
Today’s society is highly reliable on a working road infrastructure, which is because of collective efforts already built in terms of main net of roadways, and the attention is now paid to its service life primarily from a point of view of a climate change which is causing more frequent temperature extremes. This thesis sets its goal to perform basic tests for bitumen, especially ones dealing with low temperature properties, on types of bitumen usually used in out day to day world and asphalt mixtures made with those types of bitumen. The theoretical part talks about the basic definition of bitumen and studies performed on the similar issue. Practical part of the thesis is focused on performing the tests of bitumen and asphalt, which include but are not limited to, penetration test, softening point test, critical temperature detected by method by Fraasse and the bending beam rheometer and the test to set critical temperature of asphalt by using TSRST. At the end of the thesis the evaluation of results and its mutual correlation is performed.
Islámský fundamentalismus v Bangladéši
Veselý, Petr
This bachelor thesis is focused on Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh. The work is based on a case study that uses the qualitative research method and the amount of rele-vant data needed to analyze the issue after gaining independence in 1971. The first part is devoted to an explanation of technical terms, which are mentioned in the next section of the thesis. The second section of the thesis is focused on the analysis of the presence of Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh. The connection of Islamic fundamentalism with the political sphere follows the second section.
Study of the bypass Neslovice, road II/394
Veselý, Petr ; Efenberk, Tomáš (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is to prepare a case study of the bypass around village Neslovice. The reason for building the bypass is to ease the existing traffic and increase safety in the village. The road has a proposed category width S9,5 / 90. For the smoothness and safety of traffic, an flyover variants was also examined at the crossing point. Of the five variants created, one was chosen and is further elaborated.
Study of statistical decay in well deformed rare-earth nuclei
Valenta, Stanislav ; Krtička, Milan (advisor) ; Pospíšil, Stanislav (referee) ; Veselý, Petr (referee)
The γ decay of highly excited nuclear levels can be described within the statistical model of nucleus in terms of the level density and a set of photon strength functions. The knowledge of these quantities enables more accurate calculations of reaction rates in many different reactions which are important especially in nuclear astrophysics and in the development of advanced nuclear reactors. Despite the fact that the photon strength functi- ons have been studied for decades, there are still contradicting experimental results regarding the low energy behavior of dipole strength. One of these ca- ses is the shape of electric dipole photon strength function and the strength of the scissors mode in well-deformed rare-earth nuclei. In this thesis the ana- lyses of γ-ray spectra measured by two different experimental setups are pre- sented. The two-step γ cascades measurements with odd gadolinium targets were performed at the research reactor LVR-15 at the Research Centre Řež. In the multi-step γ cascades experiments the γ rays following resonance ne- utron capture on 161−163 Dy targets were measured with the highly-segmented γ-ray calorimeter Detector for Advanced Neutron Capture Experiments in the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center at Los Alamos National Labora- tory. Experimental spectra were compared...
UV signs in coloration of common leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius)
Baranová, Veronika ; Frynta, Daniel (advisor) ; Veselý, Petr (referee)
The presence of ultraviolet patterns on body, as well as perception of ultraviolet spectrum by special photoreceptors, is part of sensory ecology of many animal species, including reptiles. Most current research discusses the importance of ultraviolet signs in coloration of diurnal species. The aim of our study was to find out what character have the reflective signs in ultraviolet spectrum in overall coloration of common leopard gecko (Eubplepharis macularius) through a digital photography. The reflective pattern is present in both adults and juveniles and passes as well as the rest of the coloration by significant ontogenetic changes. Another aim was to evaluate the role of ultraviolet reflecting signs in the biology of this crepuscular-nocturnal species. We expect that the pattern contributes to their antipredatory strategies during their first few months of life, and also a white reflecting surface is preserved in adulthood, especially on their tail, which is differently coloured than the rest of the body.
