The nursing profession through the eyes of a child

Number of pages: 102 Number of enclosures: 2 The year of advocacy: 2015 The key words: children, art, health, nurses, nursing care, drawing The bachelor thesis deals with children's drawings, its development, historical context and the connection with mental development of the child, colors' interpretation and their symbols. Work verified diagnostic possibilities of children's kinetic artwork while recognizing how children see and assess nurse profession. Test group consisted of 60 children between 8 and 10 years. Children's drawings were supplemented by interviews with children about their drawing. Following key aspects were used for drawings analysis: the look of nurses, the look of child and surgery environment. The results show that children have a clear idea about the nurse profession, what nurse job represents and what clothes they wear at work. Children describe nurses and their profession mostly positive.

Quality of Seniors' Life after Total Hip Replacement

The aim of this study "Quality of Seniors'Life after Total Hip Replacement" is to find out the dependence of quality of life on the outcome of the total hip replacement operation. The first - theoretical part of my study - is focused on quality of life (observing, characteristic, conception, measurement and definitions of the quality of life) and on the description of the old age. The second part is devoted to the problematic of the total hip replacement (THR). The third part is the empirical research focused on the patients'health (including pain, function of the hip) befor and after THR, and on the degree of improvement of the quality of life after THR (starting points, aims and methods of the research, sample of the patiens, analysis of the acquired data, discussion, conclusion). Forty five patients (18 men and 27 wifes) completed two scores: 1) the well-known Harrris Hip Score and 2) the Quality of Life Score that I myself had set up (it contains 10 items: 1. Contemporary care about dying patients from the point of a nursering staff view

First degree work characterizes the process of dying and death and nears the contemporary possibilities of a lenitive and hospice care in the Czech Republic. The starting point is the definition of basic ideas and their brief characterictic drawing from get-at-able literature and information from practice. For finding the answer for contemporary level of care about dying patients was chosen the method of a qualitative research in the form of an anonymous questionnaire appointed for a nursering staff of a standard department in the chosen medical institutions. This first degree work isn't the universal instruction how to care about and to behave to dying people. This work contributes to thinking about the question of the death and dying, about own mortality and about the factors that influence this period. It nears the needs of dying people and the opinions of a nursering staff concerning priorities and obstacles in accompanying of the dyings.
The quality of life at patient with colostomy

The paper deals with life quallity of patient with colostomy. It is composed of a theoretical part and an empirical one. In the theoretical part there is global information about colostomy. In the empirical part there is information about research and its outcomes. In research there were explored changes in lifestyle, limitations and other factors that arise from performation of colostomy. In the second part of research there is explored the nursing quallity of multidisciplinar teams in connection with colostomy. And at the end of empirical part there is explored market with stomical aids - there is explored sphere of quallity, accesibility, and suitability of using.
The health Workers' dealing with members of romany community - peculiarities of communication

THE HEALTH WORKERS' DEALINGS WITH MEMBERS OF ROMANY COMMUNITY - PECULIARITIES OF COMMUNICATION The theoretical part of this work informed about history, traditions, values, and the specific communication style of Romany ethnic minority. Lack of understanding to these factors can lead to unnecessary misunderstanding between Romany patients and health workers. The main targets of empirical part were to find out how the health workers dealt with the Roma and what experience they attained with these patients. Further aim of this research were to learn about their foreknowledge of Romany minority. There were 132 health workers who filled in the questionnaire. The hypothesis of applying an equal approach was confirmed. Over 50% of interviewed had predominantly negative experience. The hypothesis of lack of information about cultural customs of Romany minority was confirmed, but only about 20% of interviewed wanted more information. Health workers should applied an individual approach to Roma patients in accordance with transcultural principles. Better foreknowledge could improve mutual communication and reduce amount of conflicts between the members of Romany community and health workers.
Professional stress of operating room nurses

In the thesis I tried to put the clinical practice operating room nurses into the psychosocial context. On the basis of scientific literature I tried to bring three different concepts of stress, show the relationship between stress and human health. Describe the typical history of stress and its external manifestations and characterize the concept of work-related stress. Characterize work-related stress for nurses operating theater and to give an overview of the main stress factors that act on nurses working in operating rooms. With support in the scientific literature summarized practices that facilitate the management of acute stress. In the empirical part of my effort was to determine how often stress acts in occurring of the operating room using a stress situation which the sisters are exposed the most personally. Find out what are the most common ways to approach these situations after working hours. What are the mainframe skills of nurses in the operating theater, how to rank themselves as operating room nurses in their field of knowledge and skills to which should be adopted.

This the Bachelor work deals with the life quality of children with epilepsy. In the theoretical part I mention the very illness of epilepsy its diagnostics and treatment. Further I focus on the quality of life from the general point of view and the quality of life in relation to the children with epilepsy as well. In the empirical part I survey with the helps of questionnaires how the children with epilepsy experience thein illness. eventually I analyse the acquired data.
