Voříšková, Eliška ; Malá, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kolář, Jozef (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Author: Eliška Voříšková Supervisor: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Consultant: Mgr. Barbora Košťálová Title of thesis: CONSENSUS OF CZECH TERMINOLOGY IN THE FIELD OF MEDICATION ADHERENCE BACKGROUND: The terminology of medication adherence has undergone a vast change over the last 50 years. As individual terms have not become established, they are often misused and interchanged between each other. The aim of this work was to analyze the Czech literature and to establish a consensus in the field of terminology of medication adherence using Delphi round survey. METHODS: For Czech language, a search of literature released before January 6th, 2021 in databases Solen, ProLékaře.cz, BMČ and PubMed was reviewed. There were 122 articles published between 1998-2020, themed on the medication adherence. Based on the review, a questionnaire for three-round Delphi survey was created as well as a list of panelists invited in the survey. The survey was online, anonymous and contained questions about translation of 7 terms and their definitions established by the English document so-called ABC Taxonomy. RESULTS: In the 1st round of the Delphi survey, 106 panelists were contacted, 46 of whom responded. A consensus on...

Analysis of spontaneous adverse events reports of antiepileptic drugs Author: Ivana Šoborová Supervisor: PharmDr. Eva Zimčíková, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction: Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological diseases, which occurs worldwide. Antiepileptic drugs (AED) suppress the onset of an epileptic seizure. Analysis of spontaneous adverse drug reactions (ADRs) analysis is important data source for generating the potential risks signals in pharmacotherapy. Objective: The aim of this work was to analyse spontaneous reports of ADRs from the Czech Central Database of ADRs of the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) in the period from June 2004 to October 2017. The analyses of potential drug interactions of all medicinal products mentioned in the reports and the assessment of the reported ADRs expectability was the secondary goal. Methods: Retrospective analyses of the spontaneous ADR reports of antiepileptic drugs obtained from the SÚKL in the given period. Anonymized data was processed using the descriptive statistics in MS Excel. For example, the patient characteristics or seriousness and expectability of the ADRs were evaluated. The specific adverse drug reactions were divided according to the system...

In the practical part, by performing a questionnaire survey to acquire and analyze the attitudes of seniors regarding self-medication with analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs focused on ibuprofen. Methods: An observational cross-sectional study was carried out in the facilities for seniors of the Trenčín region. The survey was conducted by interview with senior using questionnaire sheets. The research took place in the period July to September 2019. Results: 64.0 % of seniors suffered from almost every day or daily pain, mainly from musculoskeletal pain. The main counselling subject...

ANALYSIS OF DRUG-RELATED PROBLEMS IN A HEALTHCARE FACILITY V. Author: Thu Thao Truongová Supervisor of the diploma thesis: PharmDr. Martin Doseděl, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Veronika Měrková Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy INTRODUCTION Medication errors are one of the most frequent medicinal errors. They affect patient's safety from the long-term point of view.1 The great part of medication errors occurs on the level of drug administration.2 In healthcare facilities mostly nurses are responsible for medication administration.3 AIM To obtain and evaluate medication errors during drug administration by nurses in a healthcare facility. METHODICS A prospective observational study was conducted in the facility Hamzova léčebna for children and adults focusing on medical rehabilitation. Data collection was performed in May 2019 three consecutive days on each ward, where drugs were administrated by nurse. Direct observation was done in morning, noon and evening drug administrations. Obtained data were recorded into prepared form and were compared with physician's medication order on the patient's record. Pulse check in pharmacies I Author: Michaela Frnková Supervisor: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Anna Rejmanová, Ph.D. De artment o ocial an linical Pharmac , Fac lt o Pharmac in ra ec Králov , harle University Introduction: Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common supraventricular disorders of the heart rhythm. Unless properly treated, it leads to higher mortality and morbidity rates. Early detection of such fibrillation, which is often asymptomatic, may prevent further associated complications, especially ischemic stroke, and a sudden cardiac death. Aim: The thesis focused on the feasibility of involving pharmacists in the screening of the patients with heart rhythm disorders. Further increase awareness of the possibilities and meaning of monitoring heart rhythm disorders in pharmacies and ensure that patients can verify their own heart rate at home. Methods: The heart rhythm measurements were carried within four weeks (11/2017; 11/2018; 6/2019; 12/2019), during the global health initiative "Know o r l e". Mea ring took place at the pharmacy in Pardubice; the pharmacy offers individual consultations to patients. Participation in the screening for the atrial fibrillation was offered to all incoming pharmacy persons who were older than 40 years and without chronic...

Study of the flow of immiscible liquids
Malá, Kateřina ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
This thesis explores the topic of flow of two immiscible liquids in horizontal pipeline. For this purpose, the experimental apparatus has been set up, that allows to observe the flow of mixture through the transparent pipe. Moderately viscous oil and water (viscosity ratio: 52,81, density ratio: 0.86, interfacial tension: 41,64 mN/m) have been chosen for the experiment. Both fluids were introduced into the pipe through a T-junction. At the end of the apparatus, a mixture of liquids flowed into the separation tank, where both phases were separated. The separated oil was then reused for further measurements. The oil and water flow rates could be individually changed by use control valves, that led to identification of different flow regimes. These varied from stratified flows to fully dispersed ones as the mixture speed increased. All observed flow regimes were plotted in the flow map, that is a function of the inlet velocities of both fluids. For further analysis, a second type of flow map has been created that displays rates as a function of mixture velocity and phase volume fraction. Selected regime was also simulated using software ANSYS FLUENT. The VOF method was used to simulate multiphase flow. This thesis critically evaluates the results of the study and shows the direction for further research in the field of immiscible liquids flow.

Data were processed by computer program Microsoft Excel. The t-test and Pearson's chi-squared test were used to statistically evaluate the data. Results Average age of the respondents was 17 years and 73.5% of respondents were women. Non- believers (93.5%) and non-smokers (92.4%) predominated among the respondents. Only one of the students did not know the concept of cervical cancer or penile cancer. More than half of...
