Identity construction of young migrant generation on the example of Bulgarians in Prague

Goal of the thesis is to describe identity of young generation of imigrants on the example of Bulgarian minority living in Prague. Thesis shows in which way are the bulgarian traditions kept including language and popularization of bulgarian culture in Prague. The first part of the work is focused on basic terms that are relevant for the subject. The terms are: etnicity, identity, nationalism and nation, integration and acculturation, ethnical space, minority. In theoretical part you will be also acustomed with a composition of minorities in Czech Republic. Following that the focus will be placed at bulgarian minority in Prague and its main cultural specifics. Goal of the second part is to give an idea of young Bulgarians in Prague and reveal in which way their identities are shaped. Practical part is based on research conducted by author. Research consists of semistandardized interviews with members of bulgarian community, aged 18-29 years, who live in Prague.
Creating relationships to readers based on ELLE magazine

The Bachelor thesis "Creating relationships to readers based on ELLE magazine" aims to learn which way printed and periodic media obtain and keep their readers, primarily lifestyle magazine ELLE. Theoretical part serves for understanding the media, explaining the terms like marketing, advertising, media product and other areas closely related to the media and their activity. One section of the theoretical part is also formed by the introduction of the way of research which is put into effect in the practical part. In the practical part magazine ELLE is introduced from its history up to its launch in the Czech Republic and its success in recently sold copies, as well. In this part the content analysis of 13 copies of ELLE magazine from September 2014 to September 2015 has been accomplished. The pages of the magazine are divided on the basis of their contents into beforehand created categories and examined in depth in terms of contents. In the practical part there are also analysed interviews with the respondents who read ELLE magazine. Their answers are compared and the reasons for their reading ELLE magazine are found out. In the practical part there is also comparison of the archival magazine with its current copies. Using the content analysis, interviews and learning the development of the magazine, the picture of formation of the relation to readers has been formed.
Roma people and Velvet Revolution

This thesis approaches life of Roma people during communist era, and subsequent changes in their everyday life caused by the velvet revolution. First part approaches explanation of terms such as minority, nationality, integration and acculturisation, totalitarian regime and racial discrimination. The practical part deals with how Roma people dealt with changes inside regime. Testimonies of narrators were divided into larger groups such as everyday life before 1989, the velvet revolution era, life after 1989 Roma language and Roma identity. Thesis uses qualitative research in form of semi-structured interviews with 9 Roma people living in various parts of The Czech Republic.
The Influence of Media on Leisure Activities of the Youth

This bachelor thesis is dealing with the topic of the influence of media on the leisure activities of the youth and it aims to discover how much time young people are spending with media and how they influence their leisure time. For the better understanding of the topic the thesis is analyzing the activities that young people are doing on their computer or the tv shows that they are watching on television. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is explaining the meaning of certain terms that are used into the thesis such as media, types of media, functions of media, media theory, youth or free time. Theoretical part serves as a knowledge base for the better understanding of the topic. Due to the large volume of data that are required to get all information needed, the quantitative research is used in the practical part. For the data collection the thesis is using a questionnaire through which the thesis is trying to answer the research questions.
The Identity and Status of Women in Islam on the example of Muslim Women in the Czech Republic

Goal of the thesis "The identity and status of women in islam on the exaple of muslim women in the Czech Republic" is to describe how muslim women who live in the Czech Republic perceives their identity and status and how they look on women who live in some muslim surroundings. The theoretical part is describing islam like the second most widespread religion in the world, the use of faith in everyday life and then this part is describing the situation of women in connection with their socio-legal status. In analytical part of the thesis is used qualitative research methods in the form of half-structuralized interviews. This interviews were recorded with ten muslim women who was born in Czech Republic or they live here for a long time. Questions were divided into four groups, which largely concerned the status of women and men in family, the status of women on Qur´an and islam and also by life itself of muslim women in the Czech Republic. Also, this part aims to describe how converting women perceive the role of women in the muslim surroundings.
Changes of Customs and Traditions on the Example of Vietnameses in the Czech Republic

Task of this thesis is to chart changes of customs and traditions on the example of Vietnameses living in the Czech Republic. Aim is also to find out if Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic is more influenced by Vietnamese culture or by local culture. In theoretical part, important concepts related to this theme are described. It is primarily migration, integration and cultural specifics of Vietnameses. Analytical part interprets results of research which are classified into several areas, these areas include both point of view at the Czech Republic and Vietnam as well as customs, traditions and Vietnamese culture in general. The thesis is based on qualitative research during which half-structuralized interviews with 15 Vietnameses living in the Czech Republic were accomplished.
Forms of international labour migration on example the Portuguese living in Great Britain

The goal of this thesis is to describe the process of international labour migration on young Portuguese living in Northwich, Great Britain. The first part of my thesis concerns a theoretical summary and description of already known migration theories. In the first part are also defined terms of migration, transnationalism and diaspora. The goal of the practical part is to determine the possible reasons that led Portuguese people emigrate to Great Britain. The thesis also describes the life of Portuguese nationals abroad and their way of preserving identity. The thesis uses qualitative research methods in the form of ethnographical research taken in Northwich in 2015. Field notes are supplemented by semi-structured interviews with ten long-term living Portuguese in Great Britain.
Propaganda and media image of right–wing extremism

The aim of thesis "Propaganda and media image of right-wing extremism" is analyze media activities of right-wing extremism and find out what image of Czech right-wing extremist scene was created by two the most read Internet news portals, Novinky.cz and iDNES.cz. The theoretical part defines the concept of propaganda, media, introduces the Czech right-wing extremist scene and history of right-wing extremist groups. The theoretical part allows orientation in the topic. The practical part uses the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis. By quantitative methods is explained what attention is dedicated to Czech red-wing extremism by internet news portals. The method of qualitative analysis determines what is the media image of the Czech right-wing extremism groups and how was that image changed since 2011 until the end of 2015.
Popularization of history at the example of Lidice and Terezin

The essence of bachelor thesis Popularization of history at the example of Lidice and Terezín is to define the methods of presentation and popularization of Lidice Memorial and Terezín Memorial. The aim of the theoretical framework is mainly to outline the topic of collective memory in it´s basic forms. The topic continues with definitions of collective memory products as are collective trauma and politics of memory. The separate chapter is dedicated to the bearers of memory among which are museums, memorials, books, movies and internet. Last part is focused on historical context. The purpose of the practical framework is to apply the theoretical base on the mentioned memorials and to analyze their activities, which are helping to popularize history. The thesis presents form and appearance of the both memorials Terezín and Lidice, their projects, education programs and also movie and book production.

The aim of the thesis Propaganda and Documentary Photography in 1950s in Czechoslovakia is to find out how the communist regime affected public via documentary photography published in its printed media Rudé Právo. The theoretical part explains the terms included in the name of the thesis such us propaganda, documentary photography, 1950s and printed media. The practical part of the thesis uses both of the analyses. The quantitative analysis presents numbers of photographs according to perspectives of time and toppic. The qualitative analysis reveals what the documentary photography contents in connection with Propaganda. Years that are compared are 1950 and 1959.
