Šedová, Kristýna ; Šimíček, Petr (advisor) ; Chmelová, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis thematizes cartels in public procurement in the Czech Republic, their monitoring, detection and penalisation. Based on theoretical knowledge of cartels, public procurement and bid rigging it analyzes and compares value of penalty with economic indicators of companies behaving dishonestly. The Czech Office of the Protection of Competition harmonizes the setting of penalties with European Commission. However, the thesis concludes that the punishments are considerably benevolent. Although the aim is not to get the firm to liquidation, it will be difficult to eliminate breaking the competition without some stricter preventive measures starting with the higher penalties.

Konvalinka, Lukáš ; Kobliha, Pavel (advisor) ; Chmelová, Pavla (referee)
The aims of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the health care reform in the United States from the year 2010 and to answer the following questions, which also represented the objectives of the reform. Did the Affordable Care Act help to reduce the percentage of residents without health insurance? Did the health insurance become more affordable? Did the act contribute to the reduction of the health care expenditure? After answering these questions I should be able to determine to what extent where the objectives fullfiled. The theoretical part of this work is dedicated to the character of the health care system in the United States and problems related to that, which led to the need to reform the current system. Further, the attention is being paid to the Affordable Care Act. In the practical part the data of chosen indicators are being observed. The main indicators are the percentage of the residents without the health insurance, the price of the health insurance and the total health expenditure. Hopefully, I will be able to find a long run trend of chosen indicators from the database in the period before the reform, which can be compared with the indicators' development after the reform.

Voříšková, Kristýna ; Chmelová, Pavla (advisor) ; Prudká, Šárka (referee)
The thesis thematizes the development of costs and the structure of Public Administration in the Czech Republic. Particular attention is paid to the State Administration between years 1993 and 2013. As suggested in the theoretical part, many authors admit that a certain administrative apparatus is necessary for state's smooth functioning. Therefore, the thesis presupposes an increase of Public Administration, as far as number of its employees as well as their wages and other costs are concerned. This assumption was, however, confirmed only partially, because the large number of clerks within the observed period was, according to data provided by the Final Paycheck and by the Czech Statistical Office, declining, whereas their wage fund as well as avarage wages were increasing. Another important point was the comparison of State and Public Administration, whose development of costs displays numerous differences and which was affected by the economic crisis only to a limited extent.

On the basis of the selected macro-economic and statistical indicators examines and illustrates the influence of recession on the given field. The final section focuses on the current condition of the Czech mechanical engineering. This part also examines the nature of the impact present geopolitical conflicts have on the Czech mechanical engineering. Finally, the thesis summarizes the outcomes and draws the conclusion that the Czech mechanical engineering is influenced by the trade cycle to a greater extent than the rest of the Czech economy. However, the influence varies within the two observed periods. The thesis thus offers a new and detailed view on a branch which has not been given sufficient space in other similar papers.
