Práce analyzuje postavení dopravní soustavy České republiky a její význam pro ekonomiku našeho státu a společnost se zaměřením na železniční a silniční dopravu. Na základě provedené analýzy a z ní získaných poznatků je poukázáno na současné problémy a nedostatky, které negativně ovlivňují naši dopravní soustavu. Těmi nejzávažnějšími jsou shledány především nedostatečná harmonizace přepravních podmínek mezi železniční a silniční nákladní dopravou, nedostatečná dělba přepravní práce a nutnost urychlené dostavby a modernizace dálnic a rychlostních komunikací. V poslední části práce jsou navržena autorská doporučení k urychlenému odstranění současných nedostatků, které limitují českou dopravní soustavu v jejím rozvoji. This thesis analyses position of the Czech transport system and its importance for Czech economy and society. Based on conducted analysis and derived findings, this thesis highlights current problems and imperfections that adversely affect our transport system. In particular, these three are found the most serious ones: a weak harmonization of terms of transport between rail and road transport, an insufficient modal share and a need of fast completion and modernization of motorways and dual carriageways. Author's recommendations for a swift remedy of current imperfections, which limit the Czech transport system in its development, are propounded in the last part of the thesis.
