South Czech Philharmonic (former South Bohemian Philharmonic) Change of Management

The goal of bachelor thesis is to analyse changes after appointment of Otakar Svoboda as director of South Czech Philharmonic. The analysis is based on expert interviews with director Otakar Svoboda, marketing director Kateřina Kyselová and painter Jiří Votruba as well as on annual reports, yearbooks and organizational orders. Thesis summarize most important changes in the fields of marketing communication, organizational structure of management and dramaturgy.
Management of Professional Ensembles Engaged in Historically Informed Performance of Early Music

This thesis is focused on current situation in historically informed performance of early music. The aim of the thesis is to describe this issue from a theoretical and practical perspective. First, the thesis focuses on the definition of historically informed performance and its development. Below it is mentioned the theory of management in cultural organizations. The practical part of the thesis is a descriptive analysis of professional ensembles Collegium 1704 and Collegium Marianum which describes its overall functioning. In the conclusion are mentioned not only answers at research question, but also there is expressed an attempt of prediction of future development of these ensembles with the entire field of historically informed performance. For this thesis were used information from professional publications, articles and other publicly available data and also from expert interviews with managers of ensembles, who also provided many internal documents.
Management of city theatres in Kladno and Mladá Boleslav

The thesis analyses activity of Městské divadlo Kladno (City Theatre in Kladno) and Městské divadlo Mladá Boleslav (City Theatre in Mladá Boleslav). It focuses mainly on their management and its price strategy. The first part aims on history, management, current situation, dramaturgical profile and attendance rate of both theatres. The second part focuses on marketing mix 4P, aiming on their price strategies. The conclusion of the thesis evaluates the influence of management activities on economic situation of the institutions. Part of the thesis is also an evaluation questionnaire regarding visitors of city theatres in Kladno and Mladá Boleslav. The survey was created and implemented by the author of the thesis.
Attendance at Classical Music Concerts by Young People

This thesis is analysing attendance at classical music concerts by young people. First, therefore theoretical part is about marketing and specifics of marketing in arts. Furthermore comparison of two Prague wellknown orchestras, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the PKF-Prague Philharmonia, and their financial and marketing situation is included. The second part which is practical is dedicated to the experiment of dependence of attandance at classical concerts on age, which was made by quantitative method, and the sample marketing plan of an organizer of such concerts focused on young poeple.
Marketing communication of the Czech Centre Berlin

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of marketing communication of Czech centre Berlin, which is one of foreign branches of contributory organisation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its main purpose is to analyse each area of communication activities of Czech Centre Berlin in last few years and to suggest recommendations leading to improving marketing communication of organisation and to optimization of specific tools. The thesis characterizes theoretical background issues, deals with concepts as marketing, marketing communication, while attention is paid to specifics of their use in cultural sector. It further defines terms related with area of cultural diplomacy and its main involved persons. The thesis analyse the activity of Czech centre Berlin, its communicational activities and marketing communication of competitive institutes. In the end it evaluates individual elements of communicational mix of Czech centre Berlin and states recommendations for its improvement, compared to competition of organisation.
Analysis of Management of Leading Orchestras in Prague

This bachelor work deals with the problems of management of the leading Prague orchestras. It explains the words management and art management.The work characterizes types of different non-profit organizations, which include most orchestras and their financial planning. It also deals with organizational structures used in these organizations. The goal of this work is survey of common and different features in management in concrete orchestras coming from their various legal forms. Another goal is comparison of functional, economic and personnel indices. The work should be used as the source of information for those who are interested in this topic regarding the limit of sources connected with management of orchestras. At the same time it should be inspiration for current orchestra managers who could find there a comparison with other orchestras management.
Nation branding of the Czech Republic and its effective presentation in the European area

The thesis focuses on relationships, structures and processes that fundamentally influence the implementation of the nation branding mechanisms to the scope of activities carried out by Czech republic´s institutional actors; on the mutual communication between the state and the European cultural environment; and on the role that the Czech republic´s institutional actors play in the communication with the external environment of the country. The thesis elucidates the extent of involvement of relevant actors in the process of nation branding of the Czech Republic and its position in the international relations on the European territory. It critically interrogates models and approaches towards the nation branding and brings detailed insights into the matter through the perspective of supranational, national and local actors (both formal and informal) that contribute to the creation of a country´s image. It provides an insight into the institutional framework of the nation branding in the Czech Republic and identification of the sources of double-track processes in the distribution of agenda and a level of involvement of public diplomacy actors and other institutions responsible for the presentation of a country. Based on the analysis of the formal and informal level of such relationships and interactions, it brings a plan of formal simplification of the implementation process of the nation branding strategy in the Czech Republic.
Internal communication as a part of the National Gallery communication strategy

The thesis deals with the issue of internal communication at the National Gallery in Prague. The first part is focused on theoretical concepts, historical development and definition of the substance and means of internal communication. The essence of the work consists of situational analysis of current conditions at the National Gallery in Prague in terms of internal communication, with an emphasis on conceptual changes and communication strategy. The conclusion of the analytical part is dedicated to the evaluation of questionnaire survey, formulation of the strategy and design of communication plan, concrete activities and recommendations in the internal communication according to particularity of public cultural sector.
Intentional using of overtones in vocal composition

The thesis maps possibilities of using overtones first from the performer's point of view and then from position of a composer writing vocal music. It is concerned primarily with overtone singing, in which the singer accentuates a concrete pitch which is then distinctly perceived not merely as colour. The other focus of the work is singing on vowels in which the singer accentuates certain "zones of resonance" through altering the sung vowel. These "zones of resonance" consist of several overtones that aren't perceived as pitches, they are perceived as colour.
Project management of baroque ensemble

The aim of the thesis is to specify baroque ensembles project management, eventually find a space for effective functioning. The thesis also serves as an inspiring material for managers, both advanced and beginners, of smaller project teams in culture domain. Ensembles that were researched are Collegium 1704 and Musica Florea. In the thesis, I qualitatively observe effectivity of project management of all the ensembles. I use information that I found in specialized literature, public data, interviews with crucial members of project ensembles and my personal experience that I gained while preparing and implementing my own project called Mezisvěty. In the conclusion of the thesis, I make comments on ideal structure and appropriate forms of communication of smaller project teams, the causations of conflicts and a requirement of evaluating of the thesis.
