Tales of Ancient Mythology in Italian Renaissance Majolica in Czech Collections

The aim of this bachelor work is evaluation of the Italian Renaissance ceramics with motifs of ancient mythology in the context of Czech collections. Work closer related literature in the Czech and foreign art history. The main attention will be focused on the analysis and interpretation of individual exhibits both formal and iconographic page. In connection with the selected collection items will also be reminded of the main production centers of the Italian Renaissance ceramics. Finally, the work will evaluate iconographic themes and their typological comparison with similar parts in foreign collections. Jan Vermeyen - Prague goldsmith at the court of Rudolf II.

This bachelor's thesis "Jan Vermeyen - goldsmith at courtyard of Rudolp II.," is devoted to complicated personality, who Rudolph II. is at first, further his courtyard and his collecting activity. Simultaneously with this are conneted all events which happened in Europe at this period. Further this bachelot's thesis is devoted to biografy of goldsmith, to whom was attributed Rudolph's crown in the beginning of century. Two captures include a summary of his works which was compiled by himself or in cooperation with other Pragues' and Milans' shops, but this artwork was attributed to him in the 20th century. Thanks to this new knowledges crown which is mentioned in final capture.
Chasubles from the period of the Jagiellonian Dynasty on the castle Karlstejn

The aim of the dissertation is to cover brief history of Karlstejn till the 16th century as well as the historical evolution of the castle as such, further detail description and technological analyses of chasubles, their iconography and comparison with relative subjects in European context. Original form of chasubles prior to their restauration in 70s of the last century will be described according to the technological analysis, literature and photos from NPU archive.
Tomb reliquaries and their Czech monument Reliquary of saint Maurus.

Tomb reliquaries and their Czech monument reliquary of Saint Maurus Abstract Bachelor thesis presents tomb reliquaries as a unique group of reliquaries. It describes one of the representative of this group, relifuary of st. Maurus. It pursues its history which began in Belgien city Florennes and continued in Bečov nad Teplou with dramatic process. Reliquary of st. Maurus didn't see daylight for forty years, it was found in 1985. Thesis describes its extensive iconographic program which remindes us life stories of st. Maurus, st. Timotej, st. Apollinaire and st. John the Baptist. It pursues complicated restoration of reliquary st. Maurus which was exposed in Bečov chateau in 2002. Thesis describes Aachen reliquary of Charlemagne and tries to compare these two reliquaries. Marginaly thesis mentions about comparsion with others tomb reliquaries.
"Kaptorgas" in early Middle Ages

Presented BA thesis "Early medieval kaptorga" dealing with metal caskets which were worn on the neck by the women in the early medieval period and called by the archaeologists "kaptorgas".This work summarises available archeological material together with the published finds of kaptorgas from Bohemia and Moravia. Introductional part of the work dealing with questions of origin, purpose and social status of women which worn them. The main part of this work contains typology a complete register of kaptorgas sorted by archeoligical locality. Detailed description and style analysis accompanied with pictures is the other important part of this work. The relevant information are arranged in synoptical table.

The thesis "Proverbs a Series of Tapestries by Jacob Jordaens from the Castle Hluboká nad Vltavou" deals with a series of tapestries created from an artwork by the Flemish painter and designer of tapestries Jacob Jordaens. The aim of the thesis is to include historical context, and importace in schwarzenberg's collection which are part of and primary to write up pieces in detail with an emphasis on original artwork and update outdated literature, represented by studies from Jarmila Blažková. Název bakalářské práce v anglickém jazyce: The Tiled stoves from the nineteenth century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia Abstract The aim of this essay is to detail a masonry stove in neo-gothic style from 19th century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia. I also concern myself with interiors and history of stove-fitting in Czech Republic. All the rooms with the stoves used to be luxurious, comfortable, nice and warm. The main topic of my bachelor thesis is history of stoves in the Prague Castle. I describe the interesting part of Prague Castle including Old Royal Palace with its Vladislav Hall and the House of Lords with a big neo- gothic tiled stove, the only one here. The stove was created between years 1808-1836 at the time of the rule of the king Francis II. (ruling from 1792 to 1835) and the last Czech crowned Emperor Ferdinand V. Dobrotivý (ruling from 1830 to 1848). On the occasion of the coronation, which took place on the 7th September 1836 in the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Vladislav Hall and The House of Lord, the Old Royal Palace was rebuilt and decorated. Silver liturgical tools of various historicist styles forms very interesting chapter of churches artistic handicraft history. But still a bit neglected. Only in recent years this issue is given more attention in some chapters of books dealing with art, artistic handicraft or religious art of that time. In this work, i would to deal to liturgical tools made in 19th century by Prague goldsmiths. It is this century's time, which alternated historical styles in relatively quick succsession. While often developer in parallel and not everywhere with the same intensity. I tried to figure out how all these changes reflected in particular in Prague goldsmith art and handicraft which were formed for the Prague churches, monasteries and chapters.
Bohemian Embroideries from the period of the House of Luxembourg

Ivana Čihánková České výšivky z doby vlády Lucemburků Bakalářská práce Abstract The title of the dissertation: Bohemian Embroideries from the Period of the House of Luxembourg In the second half of the 14th century and at the beginning of the 15th century Bohemian embroidery was on a very high level, embroideries made in the Bohemian workshops were ordered by kings, noble families, church dignitaries and burghers for the churches and cathedrals on the whole territory under the rule of the House of Luxembourg. The aim of the offered bachelor dissertation is to describe the period and environment in which the embroideries were created, techniques and materials then used and connections of the embroideries with the other branches of art in the period. The first part of the dissertation deals with significance and use of embroidery under the Luxembourg rule and presents nowadays known information about embroiderers and embroidery techniques. The other part contains the descriptions of seventeen embroideries which preserved in this country and abroad, analysis of their iconography and historical links with other works of art, especially with panel painting and manuscript illuminations. Renaissance furniture and interior in Central Europe

The aim of the bachelor's thesis about renaissance furniture and interior in Central Europe is the presentation of renaissance furniture-making and the culture of habitation in Central Europe in culturally historic continuities. In defines the specific principle of furniture creations demonstrated by concrete examples in the following catalogue part. The introduction to the probleme is presenting in the first chapter a summary of the preceding development of furniture art and the whole culture of habitation in Europe. In the second chapter there has been mapped the pervasive change, which the cultur of habitation hat gone trough in the territory of Central Europe during the 16th and the half of the 17th century describing the typological extension of used furniture. At the same time i tis concerning itself with the ideological origins and the historical conditions and the impact upon the whole appearance of the interior. The third chapter is briefly characterizing the production of furniture from the point of wiew of technology, the material structure, the construction and means of production.
