Computational tasks for solving parallel data processing
Rexa, Denis ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Mašek, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this diploma thesis was to create four laboratory exercises for the subject "Parallel Data Processing", where students will try on the options and capabilities of Apache Spark as a parallel computing platform. The work also includes basic setup and use of Apache Kafka technology and NoSQL Apache Cassandra database. The other two lab assignments focus on working with a Travelling Salesman Problem. The first lab was designed to demonstrate the difficulty of a task where the student will face an exponential increase in complexity. The second task consists of an optimization algorithm to solve the problem in cluster. This algorithm is subjected to performance measurements in clusters. The conclusion of the thesis contains recommendations for optimization as well as comparison of running with different number of computing devices.
Quality of Service in Cellular Networks
Spiššák, Filip ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
This thesis deals with the quality of service (QoS) mechanism in Evolved Packet System (EPS). The basic architecture and characteristics of the EPS are introduced. The concept of QoS is defined. Furthermore, QoS related entities, their functions and corresponding procedures are described. The methodology for measuring and evaluating of end-to-end QoS as seen from a user’s point of view is designed. This methodology is used to measure QoS of experimental cellular network at UTKO FEEC BUT. Finally, configuration change for optimizing the QoS support of experimental cellular network is designed.
Generator of Harmonic Sounds and Chords
Bednář, Jan ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
Major aim of this bachelor’s thesis is creation of VST plug-in module, that is able to generate sound for more tones in the same time. This thesis describes a brief theory of music acoustics which aims to show basic relations between tones, their higher harmonics and impact on the sound color. The function of temperament system of tuning, relations between intervals and way of making chords is described. Next things mentioned in this thesis are basics of VST technology, how to programme with VST SDK and basic MIDI messages for implementation in VST plug-in.
PLC simulation using TwinCat tool
Krátký, Martin ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Mašek, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor project is about options in TwinCat 2 for programming the programmable logic controller (PLC). As part of the work will be described the principle of the PLC and PLC uses nowadays. The principe of developing tool TwinCAT will be described and an overview of the programming languages that standard IEC / EN 61131-3. The main contribution of this work is to create a program description in TwinCAT development tool in version 2. The main result will be a simulation of robotic arm created in TwinCAT version 3 and for this simulation will also be created graphical interface in Visual Studio in language C#.
Processing of statistics from network operation generator IxChariot in OPNET Modeler simulation environment
Malina, Karel ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Bartl, Milan (advisor)
This thesis "Processing statistics generator IxChariot network traffic in an environmentsimulator OPNET Modeler" is focused on collaboration solution simulation tool OPNET Modeler with IxChariot traffic generator and the principle of their connection. The goal is to display the statistics generated in IxChariot software by OPNET Modeler. In this thesis is described procedure of settings inside simulation environment OPNET modeler which are necessary for correct functionality of simulation.
Automatic Machine Learning Methods for Multimedia Data Analysis
Mašek, Jan ; Chromý, Erik (referee) ; Vozňák, Miroslav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
The quality and efficient processing of increasing amount of multimedia data is nowadays becoming increasingly needed to obtain some knowledge of this data. The thesis deals with a research, implementation, optimization and the experimental verification of automatic machine learning methods for multimedia data analysis. Created approach achieves higher accuracy in comparison with common methods, when applied on selected examples. Selected results were published in journals with impact factor [1, 2]. For these reasons special parallel computing methods were created in this work. These methods use massively parallel hardware to save electric energy and computing time and for achieving better result while solving problems. Computations which usually take days can be computed in minutes using new optimized methods. The functionality of created methods was verified on selected problems: artery detection from ultrasound images with further classifying of artery disease, the buildings detection from aerial images for obtaining geographical coordinates, the detection of materials contained in meteorite from CT images, the processing of huge databases of structured data, the classification of metallurgical materials with using laser induced breakdown spectroscopy and the automatic classification of emotions from texts.
Estimating performance of disk arrays using predictive analytics
Vlha, Matej ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
Thesis focuses on disk arrays, where the goal is to design test scenarios to measure performance of disk array and use predictive analytics tools to train a model that will predict the selected performance parameter on a measured set of data. The implemented web application demonstrates the functionality of the trained model and shows estimate of the disk array performance.
River trainning design of the Valšská Bystřice river in Bystřice
Mašek, Jan ; Uhmannová, Hana (referee) ; Julínek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the evaluation of river capacity and regulativ of river imide the village Valašská Bystřice. For making a model of part of interest was used computational program HEC-RAS. In the next part was developer theoretical suggestion and its assessment in chozen endangered localities through the lenit of the area of interest.
Warehouse modeling using graphical user interface
Rajnoha, Martin ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
Master’s thesis proposes a new algorithm which enables efficient conversion of graphical representation of warehouse into graph theory representation and consequently accelerates estimation for route costs. The proposed algorithm computes route distances between any places in warehouse based on Breadth first search, image processing „skeletonization“ and Dijkstra algorithm. Using the proposed algorithm it is possible to search routes in a warehouse effectively and fast using precomputed routing table. Searching time is less then milisecond using routing table and even size of warehouse doesn’t affect it significantly instead of using Dijkstra algorithm.
System for 3D data visualisation in virtual reality
Kalafut, Oliver ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Kolařík, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the imaging of medical models, for example human body organs, in virtual reality via Oculus Go. Oculus Go is an all-in-one device with a powerful processor and high-resolution display that is ideal for this bachelor thesis. The main goal is the conversion of 2D and 3D medical data formats, including formats such as DICOM and NIfTI, into 3D formats usable for virtual reality and then create the application. The first part of this work is devoted to the theoretical introduction and introduces the issues of virtual reality and 3D modelling to the reader. Then in the practical part, there was implemented a standalone (offline) application for display and interaction of used medical models with users in the virtual reality environment. In total, eight models of different parts of the human body were processed and converted to a uniform 3D Object (.obj) format. Subsequently, they were imported into program Unity, in which I created the entire application environment called Model Preview VR. The application enables viewing, zooming, rotating, and cross-section features of individual objects and is suitable for the presentation of simple models. This application can be helpful for development of not only medical imaging, but also for getting quality photos for publishing.
