Use of photography in a dental hygienist's office

Main topic of this bachelor thesis is the use of photography in a dental hygienist's office. The usage range is quite wide. Photography can be used as a documentation and legal protection instrument and also as a medium for patient motivation, personal presentation and publication purposes in the academical field. Theoretical part of bachelor thesis introduces the history of photography, photographical concepts, manipulation with and the set up of a digital single lens camera. Further presents accessories for dental photography, types of shots, the range of usage of a dental photography and postprocessing of images. Practical part of bachelor thesis consists of exemplar photos taken with the use of knowledge presented in the theoretical part of this thesis. Photographs were taken with digital single lens camera Nikon D3400 and additional dental accessories. Patients who were also the figurants for the photoshoots were chosen randomly. Photoshooting took place mostly in the area of the university hospital Královské Vinohrady and in a private dental office in Spálená street, where the author of this thesis serves her practical training. Parodontopaties and Patients With Heart Diseases

Aim: To summarize a basic knowledge of relations between oral health and heart diseases. And further to approach an issue of focal infection of odontogenic origin. Introduction: There is a considerably high occurrence of parodontopaties and heart diseases at the present time and society. Parodontopatie caused by the action of plaque is a source of focal infection in our bodies. A risk of infective endocarditis emergence is pretty high, the risk of atherosclerosis emergence and complications related is much higher. Controls and method: My research work was conducted in two ways. 1/ First way of using two types of questionnairs: one type designed for dental hygienists and second type designed for dentists. This "questionnair" research work consisted of questions focused on focal infection of a dental origin. 2 / Second way using clinical examinations. I worked with a group of patients with a certain heart disease. There was a need to exclude the presence of focal infections by a dentist before their heart surgeries. Esthetic Procedures at the Dental Hygienist's Office

This bachelor's thesis is focused on esthetic procedures provided by the dental hygienist. There is summarised information about the main esthetic procedures (airflow, polishing, teeth bleaching and application of dental jewellery) in the theoretical part. Two questionnaires were provided in practical part. The first one was targeted at patients of the dental hygienists and the second one targeted at dental hygienists, whose responses represent experience and opinions of dental experts. The result of questionnaires: The vast majority of patients is interested in the appearance of their teeth, they're willing to invest their time and money into them. Dental hygienists are responsible for individual professional care about the patients' teeth and for motivating patients to take care of their oral cavity. 75 % of DH said that they use more often airflow than polishing for removing extrinsic stains. 70 % of patients, who know airflow treatment were also treated by airflow. More than 80 % were satisfied with the result and they would undergo this procedure again. Only some patients were bleached, in spite of interest in bleaching teeth. Physical fitness and physical activity of dentistry students of the Charles Universtity in Prague, First Faculty of Medicine

This thesis deals with a question of physical fitness and physical regime of first-year dental students at the Charles University in Prague, First Faculty of Medicine. Results of a research on physical fitness and physical regime of first-year students of physical education on Faculty of Education of the Charles University will serve us as a comparision. Furthermore, this thesis analyzes to what extent the dentistry students are acquainted with difficulties of their profession, whether they know how to compensate inappropriate physical stress with a physical acitivy and what is their attitude to a physical activity in the present and their outlook for the future. The physical fitness was tested by using modified Unifittest 6-60, for the questionnaire survey was used a questionnaire consisted partly of questions from International Physical Activity Questionnaire, partly of questions created for purpose of this thesis.
