SMV-2015-29: Multichannel Bioimpedance Monitor
Jurák, Pavel
Impedance monitor measuring 18 independent channels from the human body. Among these channels is determined by pulse wave velocity, which is graphically and numerically recorded beat per beat during the entire measurement.
SMV-2012-22: Data processing in cardiology
Jurák, Pavel ; Halámek, Josef ; Vondra, Vlastimil
Contracted research has been focused on data processing in cardiology. It includes specialized analyzes of large polysomnographic records mainly from long-term sleep studies. Research involves advanced techniques for detection and analysis of heart rate, heart depolarization and repolarization and hemodynamic changes during different sleep stages. Detected numerical parameters were further processed and analyzes by different statistical methods

Institute of Scientific Instruments (ISI) was established in 1957 to develop diverse instrumental equipment for other institutes of the Academy of Sciences. ISI has long experience in research and development of electron microscopes, nuclear magnetic resonance equipment, coherent optics and related techniques. Nowadays the effort concentrates on scientific research in the field of methodology of physical properties of matter, in particular in the field of electron optics, electron microscopy and spectroscopy, microscopy for biomedicine, environmental electron microscopy, thin layers, electron and laser beam welding, electron beam lithography using Gaussian and shaped electron beam, nuclear magnetic resonance and spectroscopy, cryogenics and superconductivity, measurement and processing of biosignals in medicine, non-invasive cardiology, applications of focused laser beam (optical tweezers, long-range optical delivery of micro- and nano-objects) and lasers for measurement and metrology. ISI works both independently and in cooperation with universities, other research and professional institutions and with private companies at national and international level.
Endosonography of anal sphincters
JURÁK, Pavel
Endosonography of anus is an ultrasound method which provides a full image of external and internal anal sphincter and its defects, gaping of free edges, weakening or degenerative changes. There are many expressions denoting the mentioned examination, some of them can be even misleading as to the instruments used (endoscopic ultrasonography is not the same as endosonography). After studying domestic and foreign literature and articles in medical journals, I found out that the concrete examination can be denoted by different names but it is just the matter of differently viewed terminology. Thus the anal sphincter can be examined by endosonography, endoanal sonography, endoanal ultrasonography, transrectal ultrasonography, rectal sonography. However, all of these terms relate to the examination of rectum or anus with the use of a rigid high-frequency ultrasound probe. The thesis deals with injuries to anal sphincter and their diagnostics. Apart from the examination based on endosonography I also describe other related methods. It was necessary to mention some anatomical structures of the pelvic floor, the knowledge of which makes it possible to interpret the ultrasound records. The objective of the thesis was to evaluate the quality of anal sphincter imaging in dependence on the technical standard of the ultrasound devices. I elaborated questionnaires and sent them to chosen workplaces. Each workplace is thus represented by a questionnaire with replies and a supplement which includes the pictures of technical equipment and a concrete image of anal sphincters. These images were described and assessed subjectively, on the basis of obtained parameters and personal experience. According to the results of the thesis it is possible to state that the technical standard of the equipment considerably influences the quality of anal sphincter images. The contribution of the bachelor thesis can be seen in providing the professionals as well as the public with more information on the theme in question.
Korelační analýza EEG signálů
Janeček, J. ; Halámek, Josef ; Chládek, Jan ; Jurák, Pavel
The coupling among deep brain structures was analyzed by correlation algorithm. The resulting couplings and properties of correlation algorithm are discussed.
Ověření metod pro detekci QT intervalu
Kičmerová, D. ; Jurák, Pavel ; Halámek, Josef ; Provazník, I.
In the paper we propose a QT interval verification technique presented by two methods – the wavelet method and the least square optimized time shift of the regression model. We verified them by QT time series comparison and the by proposed graphical semiautomatic method – multiple segmentation technique.
Dvoukanálový, komplexní, bioimpedanční signál pro vyhodnocení hemodynamiky
Halámek, Josef ; Vondra, Vlastimil ; Jurák, Pavel ; Verner, Petr
The complex bioimpedance signals measured in the aortal and pulmonary artery directions simultaneously are discussed with respect to the information about the heart activity. All four signals carry some information about the blood flow, this information is partly equivalent (only SNR improvement and some artefact minimizations may be achieved by processing all signals) and partly non-equivalent (different behaviour according to excitation of the cardiovascular system). The more detailed analysis of time evolution of signal parameters according to the used excitation may contribute to new information about the hemodynamic system.
Evaluation of cognitive ERP, ERD/ERS from intracerebral electrodes during the testing of executive functions, the time – frequency analysis
Chládek, Jan ; Bočková, M. ; Halámek, Josef ; Jurák, Pavel ; Nestrašil, I. ; Rektor, I.
In the present paper we describe the procedure of evaluation repeated EEG signals obtained from deep brain structures. Data are processed using the time-frequency analysis, which helps to determine individual frequency (IF) bands and afterwards are processed using complex demodulation technique to assess power envelope of IF band. We analysed phase-locked (Event-Related Potentials) and non-phase-locked (Event Related De/Synchronisation) signals obtained during different task conditions. Because of low signal to noise ratio, statistical tests of credibility and significance were used.
The detector of vagus nerve stimulation
Vondra, Vlastimil ; Jurák, Pavel ; Kára, T.
This paper concerns with detection of activity of the vagus nerve stimutation. The method for measuring and instrument design based on analogue signal processing is described. The results are presented on the measured data.
Short and long time blood pressure, heart beat and respiratory oscillation control analysed by XYt graphs
Jurák, Pavel ; Halámek, Josef ; Kára, T. ; Lanfranchi, P. ; Souček, M.
The paper deals with the different blood pressure and heart interactions caused by breathing. The aim is to obtain a better insight into the quality of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) regulation resulting from mutual interactions between blood pressure, hart beats and respiration. The importance of respiration monitoring is discussed.
