Success rate of Saudi Arabia's counter-terrorism measures in comparison with counter-terrorism measures in Algeria

The thesis is focusing on terrorism, which is an issue of global significance. Two Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia and Algeria have adopted counterterrorism measures in order to prevent the spread of this global threat. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether practicing 'soft' or practicing 'hard' counterterrorism measures are more successful. The first part contains of a brief introduction and introduces the theoretical basis, the term terrorism and its form, religious terrorism. Because both of the countries are Muslim, the role of religion, especially Islam, has great impact on the success rate of the adopted measures. The focus point of the bachelor thesis will be the research question, dealing with both the 'soft' and 'hard' measures, is handling with adopted programs and furthermore with the military repressions used against terrorist in Saudi Arabia and Algeria. The final part will summarize the preceding chapters, give a percentage of rehabilitated terrorists and will discuss main research question.

Bachelor thesis "A. Pinochet Dictatorship - rise to power and the end of his career" focuses on the coup in 1973 and the establishment of democratic regime, as well as its downfall and subsequent democratization process with emphasis on the role that General Augusto Pinochet played this period of Chilean history. With respect to the main objective of this work, that is to introduce the method and conditions which onset Pinochet to power and his influence on foreign and domestic policy, major part of the work is focused primarily on the conditions and the course of a military coup, internal and external policies, the constitution of 1980 and the subsequent plebiscite in 1988, which caused Pinochet's downfall. Following part is dedicated to the role of the opposition, the description of campaigns for the plebiscite and developments during the period of democratization, when Pinochet gradually withdraws from the political sphere. The first part deals with the Chilean political system before the onset of dictatorship, including a description of the Allende's government, whose problems caused the military coup and the formal incorporation of Pinochet's regime, according to political scientist Juan Linz. Diploma thesis "Bohumír Šmeral and his influence on establishing and formation of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia (1921-1929)" is fosused on political ideology, which was worked out by czechoslovak politcian Bohumír Šmeral before II. World war. Diploma thesis deals with analyzing of influence of his ideology on a real polical activities of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia and its position in czechoslovak political system between years 1921-1929. The core of the diploma thesis includes especially the position of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia in relation to Czechoslovakia, its political programme focused on position of nationalities in Czechoslovakia and its internal organization that was the point, which emphasizes conflicts Šmeral 's ideology and ideology of Second international. The development of Šmeral 's ideology in the 20's was descibed in a chronological way. The bachelor thesis "Project Revolta - new political direction?" analyses the group Revolta.info. This group tries to create a more complex idea, which called the Third way and defines particularly against communism and capitalism. The group tries to prevent their inclusion in right - wing and left - wing political spectrum. The group defines itself also againts the current political system. The main values that Revolta.info recognize are nacionalism and social justice. The group is profiled by their website, where we can find their manifest, historical roots and specific cases of their activities. To their promotion they are using the new kinds of ways in order to distinguish them from other extremist groups. The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt: causes and consequences

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The main task of this thesis is to describe historical and ideological development of the Muslim Brotherhood. Another task of this work is to describe specific goals and actions of the Brotherhood in the context of political system and civic society of Egypt. This thesis also describes the main characters and events, which influenced course and development of this Islamic movement. In the first part it considers times of Egyptian monarchy, than it moves to description of the presidential regimes of Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak and ends with post-revolution development of Egypt. Besides the whole historical context of the movement thesis also takes on the topic of ideological clash inside the Muslim Brotherhood. This clash, between the more conservative old-guard and young reformist's about the views of the Brotherhood, which was most of the time dominated by the old-guard, eventually resulted in meeting the wishes of the younger generation, which led to the political participation of the Muslim Brotherhood. The bachelor thesis deals with theoretical frame of new far right side of political spectrum which is represented on base of existing research and subsequently applied on "grassroots" of movement English Defence League. Nowadays, that is the most significant representative of this phenomenon in Great Britain and is characterized by its features which are not typical for far right ideological family for example the strong appeal on protection of human rights and tolerance which is showed primarily in the movement's structure where is a large homosexual or Jewish division. English Defence League is also known for its strong Islamophobia and cultural racism which manifests on their march and in the behaviour of their followers. English Defence League is also free member base which is organised thanks to new media, mainly social networks. The target of the bachelor thesis is, thanks to the demarcation of new far right definition, to determine ideological status of English Defence League.
Political terrorism and guerrilla: example of Brothers Mašín resistance group

The aim of work is to aply theory of political terorism and guerrilla to Brother's Masin resistence group activities. This work offers a new view to research issues of Brother's Masin resistence group. Besides the theory of political terorism and guerila we have to account contemporary context. Each group action will be assign to one of the theory. Masin's father had a great influence to resistence group activity. He has to have his own place in this work. It is also necessary to introduce historical context of the time and give the most important reasons to the group activities. Because it is important to look at the contemporary context we have to describe what Czechoslovakia, East German and West German press wrote about it. In conclusion are the most important facts about theory of political terorism and guerrilla. To this theories will be assigned each resistence group activities. The conclusion provides an overview of Brother's Masin resistence group activities using theory of political terorism and guerrilla.
Populist proposals in the Czech political system: Dog-baiting breed of dogs, guns and self defense

This work is focused on the populist bills in the Czech political system, which covers weapons, "fighting breeds" of dogs and self-defense. The work focused on bills and amendments of laws that were designed and discussed in the Chamber of Deputies from 1993 to 2010. At the first place, definition of populist bill is summarized, then work research if bills relating to the topics covered, designed and discussed in a given period Chamber of Deputies, fits into this definition. If yes, then try to identify the petitioner and find their political situation in the time of design of the bill. The aim is to verify the thesis that populist proposals are produced by policymakers at risk of not being re-elected.
Protest Movements in the Czech Republic and Social Networks

In this thesis author deals with the relationships between protest and civil movements in the Czech Republic and social media. The author's aim is to find out the expectations and reasons of leaders of the protest and civil movements regarding social media communication. The second aim is to determine the attitude of social network users to protest and civil movement's communication. This thesis discusses the influence of social media to communicate protest and civil movements and the behaviour of social media users. In conclusion, this thesis proves or disproves earlier claims. Extreme Right Populism in the Netherlands? Case of Geert Wilders and Party for Freedom

The bachelor thesis deals with the Dutch political Party for Freedom (PVV) and its leader Geert Wilders. PVV is basically known as an extreme right party based on its anti-immigration policy and criticism of Islam. Its leader Geert Wilders considers Islam not to be a religion but rather a political ideology which is dangerous the same way communism or Nazism used to be. However Wilders denies labeling himself as an extreme right politician. He argues that his aim is to preserve Dutch liberal values and its identity. He tends to reject deeper integration of the Netherlands to the European Union as well. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether the PVV can be qualified as an extreme right populist party according to the Rydgren's theory, which strictly defines extreme, right and populist aspects of this party family. The second aim of this thesis is to examine the position of the PVV on the current political scene in the Netherlands. The success of the party has started since the Dutch society has radicalized. The main reason for its radicalization was political assassination of Pim Fortuyn in 2002 and murder of Theo Van Gogh two years later.
