Application of physiotherapeutic procedures in conducting physiological childbirth
Šimánková, Marie ; Ježková, Martina (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
This bachelor thesis explores ways physiotherapeutic procedures and concepts can be used to effect the proceedings of physiologic childbirth. The beginning of the theoretical part describes anatomical structures relevant to pregnant women, the stages of labor, pain and pain medication. The thesis then deals with ways of influencing changes in the mother's body during pregnancy. With physiotherapeutic interventions we can achieve positive impact on the pregnant woman's body and her physical condition. Through these interventions the expectant mother is better prepared for labour. The topic of the main part of the thesis is the application physiotherapeutic methods and concepts during childbirth. The selected exercises and techniques to be used at each stage of labour can reduce labour pain and shorten the whole delivery process. The last chapter discusses exercise to be done during the puerperium. The practical part of the thesis contains a case report of an expectant mother, her kinesiological analysis in pregnancy and after the labour, description of her labour, a therapeutic plan and a description of her therapy sessions. The practical part also includes a questionnaire research of 51 women after vaginal delivery.
The anterior cruciate ligament injury dependency on the menstrual cycle phase in young women
Posekaná, Pavlína ; Pešicová, Lucie (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to summarize the topic of the anterior cruciate ligament (LCA) injury dependency on the menstrual cycle phase of young women with regular sport activity. The general part describes basic knowledge about connective tissue, LCA, issues of LCA injury and related risk situations. Large chapter is dedicated to sex hormones and menstrual and ovarian cycle, which is crucial for understanding the whole topic. The main part is focused on impact of sex hormones and hormonal contraception on connective tissue, but also on muscle and nervous tissues, which might be as well important for LCA injury incidence. Next part of the thesis consists of a questionnaire survey. 52 respondents aged 15-35 with rupture or partial rupture of LCA answered the non-standardized questionnaire compiled specially for this thesis and the results were statistically processed. 14 respondents were using hormonal contraception, remaining 38 had physiological menstrual cycle. Based on the theoretical findings we expected highest incidence of LCA injuries among women without contraception in phases of menstrual cycle with highest levels of oestrogen (10th -15th day). That was confirmed (P-value: 0,0218) as well as overall lower incidence among women using contraception (P-value: 0,0006). Expected higher...
The effect of body position on pressure in anus during relaxation and contraction of the pelvic floor muscles. Pilot manometric study
Burianová, Eliška ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
This Research thesis is focused on the influence of body position on the function of pelvic floor muscles (PFM). Anatomical structures, kinesiology and neurophysiology of the PFM are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. It also discusses the methodology used for objective evaluation of the PFM. For the practical part of this thesis, 30 healthy subjects (aged 20 - 30 years, 15 male, 15 female) where chosen via a questionnaire. The subjects were examined via the method of anorectal manometry. The goal of the examination was to measure the distribution of a) resting pressure in the anal canal in selected positions, b) pressure during voluntary maximal contraction of PFM and sphincters in selected positions, c) pressure during 20 seconds of voluntary contraction. Selected positions are: lying on the back; lying on the back with legs elevated and held in "three flexion"; kneeling on all fours with palm support; kneeling on all fours with elbow support; squatting, and standing. Results: a) The resting pressure is influenced by the body position. Highest resting pressure was observed in squatting and standing positions, lowest resting pressure was measured on subjects while kneeling on all fours with elbow support. No significant difference was observed between male and female subjects in...

Čermáková, Eliška ; Geržová, Eliška (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
In the Czech Republic, floorball is becoming popular sport for people across all age and social groups. The expansion and quality improvement of floorball should be accompanied by specific medical attention due to a high injury occurrence. Hence, this bachelor thesis is focused on the injury rate and it`s influencing factors in top-level floorball league. Methodology: 182 athletes (99 women and 83 men) from 20 floorball teams participating in the Czech top-level league were interviewed. The injury incidence as well as its occasion and consequences were investigated through non-standardised questionnaire. Concurrently, the research was focused on team`s options for regeneration, the form of corrective exercise and the level of physiotherapy provided by floorball teams. Results: The ankle sprain was the most common type of injury for men and women (p=0.0133) and presents 20.1% of all observed injuries. Women sustained more injuries than men 2.5 and 1.8 injury per person respectively. The difference of the injury rate between defenders (84.3%) and offenders (73.2%) wasn`t statistically significant (p=0.082), thus it doesn`t imply which post is more prone to injuries. The availability of physiotherapist significantly decrease the injury rate of athletes (p=0.0367). 72.6% of athletes with...
