ASEAN and challenges of its external integration
Svoboda, Jan ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Hnát, Pavel (referee)
This paper is focused on an analysis of current regionalism in Asia-Pacific region and on evaluation of creation of relatively wide and relatively deep regional integration. Possible benefits of this integration concept can be exemplified by development of Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) whose member states have substantially different interests due to historic and socioeconomic reasons. However, ASEAN was able to overcome these different interests by a specific integration model which is based on mutual trust, consensual decision-making and gradual changes. As a result, natural suspicions were eliminated to some extent and member states were able to deepen their integration. Main powers in the region noticed its success and they began to strive to develop closer relations not only with ASEAN, but also with other regional powers through ASEAN structure.

Organofosfonáty kovů a jejich interkalační sloučeniny jako anorganicko-organické hybridní materiály a nanomateriály
Zima, Vítězslav ; Svoboda, Jan ; Melánová, Klára ; Beneš, L.
We prepared several new phenylphosphonates and 4-carboxyphenylphosphonates of alkaline earth metals and copper and characterized them by powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, elemental analysis and infrared spectroscopy. For four of these compounds, their structure was determined from their powder X-ray diffraction patterns using an ab initio FOX program. The prepared alkaline-earth phenylphosphonates with general formula MeC6H5PO3yH2O (Me = Ca, Sr, Ba) were found to be suitable hosts for intercalation reactions.

Multivalentní glykokonjugáty ve studiu interakce lektinových receptorů NK/NKT buněk
Vannucci, Luca ; Pospíšil, Miloslav ; Rossmann, Pavel ; Chernyavskiy, Oleksandr ; Kubínová, Lucie ; Křen, Vladimír ; Luptovcová, Martina ; Svoboda, Jan ; Kuldová, Markéta ; Bezouška, Karel ; Fišerová, Anna
The events following the administration of GN8 in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo, lead to increased expression of CD69. The CD69-dependent IFNg production is modulated by co-activation of NKG2D and Ly49 receptors. Glycodendrimers can assist the dissection of activation network of NK/NKT cell lectin-like receptors in rat and murine models
