Advantage and disavantage of the development of pre-mathematics literacy in "wood kindergarten"
Šmejkalová, Petra ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Radka (referee)
This Diploma Thesis deals with possibilities of developing pre-mathematical literacy at Wood Kindergarten. The Thesis submits a proposal of Kindergarten Education Programme concerning this aspect. The proposal is the result of a detailed theoretical part which precedes. The concept of this Educational Programme aimed at pre-mathematical literacy in a specific environment focuses primarily on the development of manipulative motor skills connected with special orientation and the child's individual body scheme. The practical part verifies suitability of selected activities related to the specific environment of forest and other kindergarten surrounding environment. This Thesis is based on 'action research' combined with qualitative research elements. It introduces a new perspective regarding the issue of preparing children for school mathematics.
Correctif processies of structured wholes
Kašová, Štěpánka ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Radka (referee)
The main objectives of the thesis Correctif processies of structured wholes are to find out whether and under what conditions is the child able to identify an error in a structured whole in the last year of pre-school education and whether her is able to correct the identified errors. To meet the objectives, there was used the qualitative research to select 30 children from two pre-school classes. The research included five activities focused on different types of structured wholes, but also on different correction processes. The observed phenomenas were recorded in tables and graphs that are part of the work or listed in the appendix. From the series of created tasks, observation of children and subsequent data recording and analysis, the child in the last year of pre-school education does not have the experience of identifying and correcting errors and the approaches of childer to solve the tasks are in different ways.
Analysis of critical situations at solving verbal tasks for pupils in first grade of elementary school
Chudík, Jan ; Havlíčková, Radka (advisor) ; Kloboučková, Jaroslava (referee)
The aim of this document is to familiarize first grade elementary school readers with the critical points in solving word problems in mathematics and to analyze various problem- solving strategies in concrete tasks. Primarily, the document is focused on determining pupils' difficulties and acquiring information about the problem-solving process through a written record of the solution and subsequent in-depth interviews. The theoretical part is divided into six sections dealing with terminology (e.g. word problem) and the areas influencing success in the solution of word problems and partial processes. The practical part contains an analysis of each pupil's solutions and a description of phenomena found in them, together with the grading teacher's help. KEYWORDS Word problem, pupil's solutions, analysis of interviews, questions, solution process
The construction of polygons with the didactic aid
Průšová, Adéla ; Kloboučková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Radka (referee)
This thesis deals with construction of polygons with use of a didactic aid a geoboard at primary education. I have done analysis of three series of mathematics books in order to know, if they include possibility of mechanical work during construction of polygons. Based on study of professional literature related to teaching mathematics, mainly geometry at primary education, I have created patterns that can be used altogether with geoboard in mathematics. The patterns had been used in three classes thank to this I could have assess their practical use. Then I have corrected wrong instruction of patterns in order to be clear. Next I described three stages of beginning to work with geoboard that I have personally done and that are written in details in protocol. I have concluded didactic potential work with geoboard and theoretical obstacles while geoboard is using.
Hundred table in mathematics teaching in primary school
Loulová, Jana ; Slezáková, Jana (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Radka (referee)
The Hundred Table environment is one of the mathematical environments created by the authors of mathematics textbooks published by FRAUS using the Hejný Method, and this paper investigates it further. The theoretical section looks at the current teaching of mathematics and theories of pupils' cognitive process. It further defines the term 'table' and looks at work with it within FRAUS mathematics textbooks using the Hejný Method. Key here are tasks using the Hundred Table environment, which are further described according to type. The objectives of tasks using this environment are also stated. The theoretical section also gives a description of how Hundred Tables appear in various textbooks, materials and other mathematical situations. The experimental section describes three experiments which I undertook to find an appropriate method for implementing Hundred Tables within teaching. I created a number of new tasks for these experiments and investigated what methods pupils used to solve these tasks. KEY WORDS Hundred Table environment, motivation, pupils' cognitive process, table, task solving methods, mathematics textbooks for Primary School, ways of Hundred Tables, sum of centrally symmetric figures, rectangles in Hundred Tables
Using MIM in time perspective diagnostics
Havlíčková, Radka ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; Štech, Stanislav (referee)
This Diploma thesis thematizes the problem of students' time perspective and its diagnostics. The whole text is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical with emphasis on the theoretical part. The theoretical part will look upon the conceptions of time perspective. Ideas of time perception, the influence of time on human behavior and a connection of time pespective with an achievement motivation are presented. The personality-motivational concept of time perspective by European expert of motivational psychology Jopeph Nuttin are analyzed. From the domestic authors I describe the concept of perpsective orientation by Isabella Pavelkova. These theories are completed with information gained by Rayner, Gjesme and Fraisse. The important section is a chapter where diagnostics and specifics methods are presented. The empirical section contains the results of research provided by 5 classes of high school students with an eight year (or four year) study plan in April 2012 in Caslav. Using two questionaries (Motivational Induction Method and Perspective Orientation Questionary). Motivational Induction Method investigates objects of students' time perspective and summarized these themes into exact time frames. The Perspective Orientation Questionnaire helps investigate external validity. Key words:...
Astrid Lindgren: The Brothers Lionheart literatury work by way of drama education
Havlíčková, Radka ; Marušák, Radek (advisor) ; Tomková, Anna (referee)
Diploma work is intented on evaluation literatury work of The Brothers Lionheart, looking for (and finding) ways that the work is possible to compile by methods of dramatic education and shift contents into experience of the pupil. It is the way how to take advantage of topics which are compiled in the work for form value orientation of pupils. Work contents analysis of literatury work and analysis in term of dramatic education and description and reflexion of project that results of literature text. The diploma work contents also principle developmental psychology and psychology of children reader.
