Awareness of girls aged 16-18 about the risks of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and caffeine use in pregnancy

This diploma thesis addresses the awareness of a selected group of girls aged 16-18 about the risks of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and caffeine use in pregnancy. The aim is to find out their knowledge of this topic and on the basis of the obtained data to create a suitable pedagogical output. It should supplement and deepen their knowledge. Girls' awareness of the risks of using selected substances in pregnancy is determined by means of a questionnaire survey of a knowledge nature of 85 respondents. The results show that their knowledge is 59% and therefore it is appropriate for them to supplement it with the help of pedagogical output. KEYWORDS Awareness, girls, addictive substances, pregnancy

Comparison of living standards of the elderly in retirement homes and in households

This bachelor thesis deals with the satisfaction of the elderly in the retirement homes - with respect to their services in three institutions of this kind. For this purpose, a quantitative method of the personal interviews has been chosen (12 clients in total, 4 from each home). The primary aim of this research (as well as the work itself) is to describe and interpret the situation and eventually to suggest proper changes in order to improve the seniors' quality of life. The first, theoretical part consists form three chapters. First: aging, life stages, old age. Second: human needs, quality of life, satisfaction (well-being), ageism. Third: welfare services, social (welfare) workers, associated laws, institutions and activities. The practical (analytical) part states the research questions, the method and the aims of the research. Also, it introduces the respondents, presents the results of the research and assesses its outcomes, which are the following. The elderly gladly accept "non-institutional" environment and put emphasis on their private. They preferred varied and tasty diet rather than nutritious or "healthy". Agression and bullying among pupils in chosen elementary school

The thesis consists two parts. The first part is an introduction into aggression, risky behavior and bullying phenomenon. This part is also dealing with the problematic of deviations. The aim of the practical was to detect and defined bullying in 7th grades in chosen elementary school. In this part I prepared a questionnaire for the target group and based my analysis on it. Then results were compared between the classes and the next step was an interview with school employee, which is responsible for preventing methods. This interview helped me to understand which cases of bullying occurred, how the school managed it and the future preventing measure. The main question, I tried to answer in my work, was "Is there bullying among pupils in 7th grades?" The result of my research was optimistic. Just 1/3 of the respondents had been bullied or knows someone who was. The rest 2/3 of the pupils did not encounter with bullying. The second part of my research focuses on bullying kinds and there effect. Most of the responders consider that emotional bullying is worse than physical. Familiarity of young women about menstruation

The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the menstrual cycle and the sexual development of a woman. First chapters provide general information about anatomy and physiology. Next chapters deal with menstrual hygiene and practical tips for women during menstruation. Menarche - the period of the first menstruation is also included in theoretical part. The emphasis is on the clarity of the text and its benefit in the practice of teachers and parents. The practical part consists of the results of the quantitative questionnaire survey, that was focused mainly on the knowledge about the menstrual cycle and about the practical experience of women during the menstruation. Part of the research is devoted to the period of menarche in life of questioning women. The results show that women tend to have a basic knowledge of the menstrual cycle. 16 % of women can describe the cycle correctly and 40 % describe all the female internal organs. Informing of young woman about lifestyle change during pregnancy

The thesis focuses on the issue of informing young women about lifestyle changes during pregnancy. The main goal is to find out how informed young women are about lifestyle changes during pregnancy. The presented work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, there are described the possibilities of finding pregnancy and the overall development of the mother and child throughout the pregnancy. It builds on the care of a pregnant woman, where the importance of a counseling center for pregnant women, all the examinations a pregnant woman is expecting and details of a pregnancy card and its importance are discussed. Following is a section about appropriate nutrition and sports for a pregnant woman and about risk factors in pregnancy. The final part of the theoretical part of the thesis deals with the financial situation during pregnancy and after childbirth and the change in the psyche of a woman during pregnancy. All theoretical knowledge is based on available literary sources. The practical part of the thesis, there is described the preparation, implementation and results of interviews.
