Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá spokojeností klientů domovů pro seniory s poskytovanými službami ve třech vybraných pobytových zařízeních tohoto typu. Pro tento účel byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná metoda osobních rozhovorů s dvanácti klienty (po čtyřech v každém z daných zařízení). Hlavním cílem výzkumu i práce samotné je zmapování a interpretace situace a navržení možných změn, které by vedly ke zlepšení kvality života seniorů. Teoretická část má tři kapitoly. První se zabývá stárnutím, fázemi lidského života a stářím jako společenským fenoménem. Ve druhé kapitole jsou definovány základní pojmy: lidské potřeby, kvalita života, životní spokojenost (well-being), ageismus. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na sociální služby, příslušné právní předpisy, instituce a pracovníky. Praktická část sestává ze tří základních kapitol. V první jsou popsány cíle a metody výzkumu, položeny výzkumné otázky a představeni respondenti. Ve druhé podkapitole je popsán průběh a výsledky výzkumného šetření, rovněž jsou zde zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky. Závěr praktické části předkládá následující poznatky s ohledem na cíl práce: Senioři vítají "neústavní" prostředí a velký důraz kladou na své soukromí. This bachelor thesis deals with the satisfaction of the elderly in the retirement homes - with respect to their services in three institutions of this kind. For this purpose, a quantitative method of the personal interviews has been chosen (12 clients in total, 4 from each home). The primary aim of this research (as well as the work itself) is to describe and interpret the situation and eventually to suggest proper changes in order to improve the seniors' quality of life. The first, theoretical part consists form three chapters. First: aging, life stages, old age. Second: human needs, quality of life, satisfaction (well-being), ageism. Third: welfare services, social (welfare) workers, associated laws, institutions and activities. The practical (analytical) part states the research questions, the method and the aims of the research. Also, it introduces the respondents, presents the results of the research and assesses its outcomes, which are the following. The elderly gladly accept "non-institutional" environment and put emphasis on their private. They preferred varied and tasty diet rather than nutritious or "healthy".
