Image processing using Android device
Korchakov, Sergei ; Richter, Miloslav (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
This master’s Thesis focuses on image processing on Android platform and development of an application, that is able to do face detection and recognition in real scene. Thesis gives highlight of modern algorithms of face detection. It first examines and compares the standard features of Android platform (FaceDetector a FaceDetectionListener) and JJIL, OpenIMAJ, OpenCV libraries experiment, and presents the results. For purposes of face recognition was selected OpenCV library. Three different algorithms of identification were tested: FisherFaces, EigenFaces a Local Binary Patterns Histograms. Based on performance comparison best methods were implemented in developed application.
Image processing using Android device
Hortai, František ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and workflow of creating an image processing application in Android system, and what are the possibilities in choosing development environment and how to implement them. Then I am writing about my solutions of creating applications, graphical user interface and an interface for Android. I am describing my approach in the design and functionality of the application, communication with the camera, storing and retrieving data. Further I explain which algorithms were implemented for image processing and image evaluation. Product of this thesis is a functioning application that allows to its user to capture images and video stream. The algorithm evaluates the entering data and shows the location of the number plate. The application also allows recognizing texts and numbers from images. There are other various practical features and options implemented within the application.
GPU accelerated stereo image processing
Polák, Jaromir ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Richter, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with 3D reconstruction using stereo cameras. This work is to show the usefulness of GPU acceleration for sophisticated algorithm
Face detection and recognition methods
Zbranek, Miroslav ; Horák, Karel (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to explore methods of face detection and recognition in the picture. The method for face detection and the method for face recognition will be chosen according to literature survey. Both methods will be implemented using the OpenCV library and a program language C/C++. The result of this project is creation of graphic interface which use programmed function for face detection and recognition from a picture and also a camcorder.
Visual detection of electronic devices

This thesis describes application of image processing for precise distance measurement in self acting production of a tip for AFM microscopes. The main goal is to measure distances between assembly parts during fabrication process. The purpose is to acquire a data for self acting assembly line which have to substitute inaccurate and nonrecurring manual assembly process. The assembly process consists of three technological steps. In first two steps the tungsten wire is glued to the cantilever. Distance measurement is necessary in all axes for proper alignment of parts. In third step the sharp tip is etched by KOH solution. The right distance between liquid level and the cantilever must be kept. A camera with high resolution and macro objective is used to acquire an image. Camera image is then calibrated to suppress distortions and scene position with respect to camera position. Length conversion coefficient is also computed. Object recognition and distance measurement is based on standard computer vision methods, mainly: adaptive thresholding, moments, image statistics, canny edge detector, Hough transform… Proposed algorithms have been implemented in C++ using Intel OpenCV library. The final achieved distance resolution is about 10µm per pixel. Algorithm output was successfully used to assembly few test tips.
Adjustment of scene for electronic devices detection
Hynčica, Tomáš ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
This work describes development of control hardware and software for automatic production of tuning fork with tip for atomic force microscopy (AFM). A specialized device implementing the problem is developed and tested. The advantage of the proposed solution is the ability to produce the tuning forks with constant parameters, which is an important condition for successful work with the microscope.
Traffic image sequence classification
Vomela, Miroslav ; Janáková, Ilona (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
The article introduces a general survey of concepts used in traffic monitoring applications. It describes different approaches for solving particular steps of vehicle detection process. Analysis of these methods was performed. Furthermore this work focuses on the design and realization of complex robust algorithm for real-time vehicle detection. It is based on analysis of video-sequence acquired from static camera situated on highway. Processing consists of many steps. It starts with background subtraction and ends with traffic monitoring results, i.e. average speed, number of cars, level of service etc.
LED detection using SSE instruction set
Stachera, Tomáš ; Janáková, Ilona (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
The themes of this work is to make an instruction set for detection and counting LED in power supply control panel, with using SSE instruction set algorithm. The goal will be to compare function time for optimized and not optimized functions. The first part focuses on SSE instructions introduction, as well as on introduction of some functions using SSE instructions. The second part is dealing with algorithm for detection and counting LEDs and possibility of those algorithms optimizing with SSE instruction set. Next part introduces user interface for developed functions testing. On the very end I compare results of all functions and evaluate these results.
Videodetection - traffic monitoring
Kozina, Lubomír ; Beszédeš,, Marián (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
In this master’s thesis on the topic Videodetection - traffic monitoring I was engaged in searching moving objects in traffic images sequence. There are described various methods background model computation and moving vehicles marking, counting or velocity calculating in the thesis. It was created a graphical user interface for traffic scene evaluation in MATLAB.
LPR detection and OCR
Krajíček, Pavel ; Horák, Karel (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
The theme of this thesi’s deals with the detection and recognition of car license plate from pictures made of screening machine situated on a crassing or inside a car. The thesis si divided into two basic parts. First deals with searching for presence of licence plate in the picture. If the marque was found, we continue the second part of the program which identificates the found license plate. The first part of program aspires to find the licence plate by the edge detectors. The second part classifies characters by the method based on an analytical description.
