The aim of the study was to evaluate the results of the asp population development in relation to the current fishery management and to develop proposals for the management of this predatory species in the future.
Complex ichtyological investigation of the Lipno Reservoir in 2017
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Kubečka, Jan ; Bartoň, Daniel ; Děd, Vilém ; de Moraes, Karlos Ribeiro ; Jůza, Tomáš ; Souza, Allan T.
The aim of the study was to monitor the overall status of the fish stock of the Lipno reservoir in the key year 2017, when the fishing rules were changed. The catches of multimesh gillnets, fry trawling, seining and electrofishing, and the assessment of European catfish were evaluated. The species composition and relative abundance of fish in all significant reservoir volumes were found, and the year class strength of all species 2017 was quantified. The report also contains recommendations for further fishery management of the reservoir.
Assessment of asp reproductive population in Švihov Reservoir in 2017

The aim of the contract was to capture reproducing asp by electrofishing and tag fish individually using individual marking technique (PIT-tags). Estimate of asp reproductive population in the Švihov Reservoir was performed on the basis of mark-recapture methods. Furthermore, the length and weight increments were computed for recaptured asp individuals. Tagged individuals were monitored using passive telemetry systems on the tributary of Švihov Reservoir.
Health and advertisin in a tabloid of the First Republic
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Vošahlíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
Main topic of the diploma thesis is advertising related to health in press of the First Republic in former Czechoslovakia, especially in tabloid newspapers from the press group called Tempo of Jiří Stříbrný. It deals with advertisements related to medical devices, aids or medicinal and dietetic products, as well as health care. It shows that there has been no consistent or consistently observed legislation with regard to such advertising. There were many complaints by doctors or pharmacists about dry-selling advertising in newspapers, about quack advertising and offering charlatan's products. The thesis brings insights into individual thematic types of health-related advertising, describes those that were most often imprinted, which products and services were the most targeted. All this in connection with current medical, pharmacy, or legal discourse about quack advertisements in daily papers or charlatanism as such.

Fish stock assessment of the Petrusplaat Reservoir in 2016, Fish stock assessment of the Honderd en Dertig Reservoir in 2016, Fish stock assessment of the De Gijster Reservoir in 2016
Jůza, Tomáš ; Soukalová, Kateřina ; Kočvara, Luboš ; Prachař, Zdeněk
In 2016, the aim of the complex ichthyological surveys of Petrusplaat, Honderd en Dertig and De Gijster reservoirs was the description of fish community composition and succession with the emphasis put on the abundance and biomass estimates. All important littoral/benthic and pelagic habitats were sampled using the well-established methods (benthic and pelagic gillnets, shore seining and pelagic fry and ichthyoplankton trawling, benthic traps) aiming particularly on the improvement of abundance estimates of gobiid fry.
Rumour and its change in historical sociological perspective
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Šubrt, Jiří (advisor) ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (referee) ; Havlík, Radomír (referee)
Thesis focusses on the phenomenon of rumour. This specific means of unofficial communication is widespread. Amongst academic scholars, there is no consensus regarding the definition of rumour, so thesis works with a sociological definition: rumour is a kind of unverified information that is developed in situations which are important to individuals, on one side, and ambiguous on the other. But this definition is quite new (considering the long history the phenomenon of rumour) and was developed according to theories which were tested in the twentieth century. Thesis illustrates how this phenomenon has changed throughout human history. Although the research into the field of rumours has been relatively systematically developed, a historical-sociological comparative work deal which deals with changes in the perceptions, definitions, and conceptions of rumours is still missing, so aim is to describe these changes from historical-sociological point of view, focusing on questions including where and how the concept of rumour emerged, what it originally meant, and how the concept of rumour was historically transformed.
Possible World of Rumour
Soukalová, Kateřina ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Šubrt, Jiří (referee)
This thesis describes and explains rumours as sociological phenomenon. It deals with circumstances under which rumour arises, how it spreads and how it persists in society. It also deals with the prerequisites for understanding the transmission and any believing in rumour. Emphasis is placed on understanding the rumours without negative connotations which is mostly attributed to it. The theory of fictional worlds brings idea that rumour should not be always fictional, fictitious and a priori negative, but rather should be considered as possibly true, especially in terms of the phenomenon, which it refers. It does not matter how many different variations of the rumour story exist, since all create a frame of reference through which is better spread the rumour; adoption of the rumours is not a sign of fiction, but rather a prerequisite to embed among people. The thesis promotes the view that a rumour is spread mainly due to its content and message, which is mainly a warning. The aim is not to pass the exact story, but to warn about a phenomenon that occurs in society. It is not important wheather the rumour is true in each detail, because the only important aspect is truth of phenomenon which the rumour refers to. Keywords Rumour, theory of possible worlds, conspiracy theories, contemporary legend,...
Ichthyological surveys of the Nýrsko and Karhov reservoirs and investigations of abundance, age composition and spawning dynamics of asp population in the Želivka Reservoir in 2015.

The species composition and the relative abundance and biomass of fish communities in the Nýrsko and Karhov reservoirs were evaluated by means of standardised multimesh gillnets. The spawning stock of asp in the Želivka Reservoir was individually marked using PIT tags and the density and behaviour of tagged fish at the main spawning grounds were examined through the whole spawning season. The total number of reproducing individuals in the asp population was estimated. The sex-specific length and weight growth rates of adult asp in the Želivka Reservoir were also calculated. \n\n
