Regularity of solutions of systems describing generalized Newtonian fluids

We investigate properties of solutions of systems of nonlinear partial differential equations describing evolutionary flow of certain class of generalized Newtonian fluids including in particular various variants of the power-law models. We study the problem with perfect slip boundary conditions. The nonlinear elliptic operator, which is related to the stress tensor, has a p-potential structure. We focus especially on the case p = 2. The main part of the work deals with regularity of second space derivatives and overcoming new di±culties connected with usage of considered boundary conditions.

Selected Findings in Industrial Toxicology

V návaznosti na cíle této diplomové práce uvádím tyto závěry: 1. Toxikologie tvoří nedílnou součást širokého vědního oboru chemie. Proto se domnívám, že by ve výuce na základních a středních školách neměla chybět. Je však nutné zařadit do výuky na výše zmíněných školách, vzhledem k obsáhlosti vědního oboru toxikologie, jen nejdůležitější toxikologické pojmy a toxikologicky nejvýznamnější látky, s kterými se studenti mohou setkat v běžném životě. Je důležité, aby si studenti uvědomovali rizika spojená s manipulací a zacházením s nebezpečnými látkami a přípravky. 2. Studenti gymnázia prokázali dobré znalosti základů toxikologie. Téměř všem studentům je pojem toxikologie znám, dokáží jej definovat a jmenovat jednotlivé jedy, toxické látky a přípravky. Studenti dokázali jmenovat těžké kovy, tolik nebezpečné pro životní prostředí a poradili si také s otázkou první pomoci v případě poleptání kyselinou. 3. V žádném případě bychom neměli podceňovat problematiku škodlivých účinků látek. S důležitými toxikologickými pojmy a zásadami zacházení s nebezpečnými látkami a přípravky je nutné seznamovat studenty již na základních školách, aby nedocházelo k případným zraněním a nehodám z nevědomosti a podceňování opatrnosti manipulace s těmito látkami.

Surface acoustic wave filter

The theoretical part of this thesis deals with principles and characteristics of the surface acoustic wave filter. It explained the principle of magnetostriction and piezoelectric effect, which uses a filter. In the practical part in the program Comsol Multiphysics are made three simple models of SAW filter. Some modes are founded and are compared to previously known results. In the next phase of project is further studied using the parametric analysis. In the last phase of project is applied global optimization PSO at admittance characteristic from simple 2D structure. The results are compared with the commercially produced devices.

Heating in lossy waveguide

This thesis deals with modeling of a waveguide with the rectangular cross-section in Comsol Multiphysics and optimization with PSO algorithm in MATLAB. The practical section describes electromagnetic wave excitation at different frequencies; and the influence of changes of basic characteristics, proportions and the location of an inserted dielectric slide on passing electromagnetic wave in a single-mode band. In next phase of the project, changes of basic characteristics on heating structure at electromagnetic field excitation by this waveguides are discussed. The last part deals with optimizing waveguide filter with particle swarm optimization and research his new electric and thermal character. Modeled phenomena are illustrated by pictures of a waveguide from the axial upper projection, and on rectangular charts.

Advanced video post-production and distribution methods using IT

This thesis deals with advanced methods of digital video postproduction and distribution using broadcasting technologies and internet protocol. Describes and compares the distribution methods, using information technology and discusses the current problems. Describes digitization methods and methods that can save bandwidth for distribution. Deals with the possible practical implementation of distribution od three dimensional video to upcoming standards and analyzes the possibilities of their future development. Discusses the overall problems of transmission standardization and advanced video coding. In a conclusion, based on a comparison of methods and practical experience of the author, thesis recommends certain procedures to implement to the standard and specifies the direction of the technological solutions.
