Řehořková, Michaela ; Strejcová, Barbora (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
Title: The energetic cost of middle aged women during zumba lesson measured by indirect calorimetric method Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess energy cost of the middle aged women during zumba exercise. Methods: A group of 6 women (age range 27-37 years) volunteered to participate in this study. To assess the maximal oxygen consumption, we used the running test to individual maximum. Each subject took part in six lessons of zumba in commercial fitness gym. Each subject was measured during 60 min long lesson. Results: The oxygen consumption of the whole zumba exercise was 19,5±2,2 ml.kg-1 .min-1 that is 68,4 % of the maximal oxygen consumption 40,1±7,4 ml.kg-1 .min-1 measured during running test. That exactly means a caloric expenditure 404,8 kcal (or 1692,2 kJ) during one lesson of zumba. The intensity of whole class reported by HR was covered by 67,5 % from HRmax and by Borg's rates of perceived exertion (6-20) with rates 14±2 from 18±2 immediately after the maximal running test. The highest energetic cost (336, 3 kcal, resp. 1405,9 kJ) was during the main part of the lesson. Zumba can be classified as moderately challenging type of exercise, which is good for fat burning; this statement is based on values of the heart rate measured during lessons of zumba. The influence of specific and non-specific training on finger flexors and shoulder girdle muscles strength in sport climbers Aim To assess the effect of the specific and the non-specific training on the finger flexors and shoulder girdle muscles strength in sport climbers. Methods Six climbers of the same performance took part in the study. This group of climbers was randomly devided into two groups. Each group was doing different exercise. The exercise was changed in the half time of the study programme. The climbers had to go through the training units focused on the stimulation of strength abilities using bouldering and exercises on the campus campus board during twelve weeks, which were devided into two periods of six weeks. Results The non-specific training had the biggest effect on the overhang length on campus board and on the Michailov's test. The average pretest overhang length on campus board for the right hand was in one of the groups 68,3 ± 8,5 cm, after the nonspecific training, the overhang length incresed by 20 cm, after specific training by 11,7 cm. In the second group, the pretest overhang lenght on campus board was 70 ± 8,2 cm, after the non-specific training, the overhang length incresed by 19 cm, after the specific training by 6,7 cm. The biggest change in the hand strength...
Individula movement program to influence fitness and affect body weight
Kupr, Pavel ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
INVIDUAL MOVEMENT PROGRAM TO INFLUENCE FITNESS AND AFFECT BODY WEIGHT Aims: The main aim of this thesis is to influence the fitness assumptions and to affect the body weight of a chosen person on the basis of an applied intervention program. Particular aims involve creating the intervention program, its fulfillment and practical verification, confirmation of defined hypotheses, stating and particulary explaining the differences between measured dates before and after the intervention and formulating relevant conclusions and recommendations.. Methods: The research method used in the thesis was an experiment. Its basis was creation and especially application of the six months lasting training program and further testing in laboratory conditions before and after the intervention. Results: The controlled person fulfilled the training program without complications and in a full scale. The created interventional program involved aerobic activities (running), bodybuilding and other activities (fitbox, cycling, in-line skating, swimming) without adjusting nutrition habits or an eventual diet. The feed-back tests showed/proved that the condition assumptions of the controlled person distincively improved in all chosen function parameters. Requested weight reduction though was not achieved. The validity of climbing specific tests to the climbling performance
Řehoř, Marek ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
Name The validity of specific tests of flexibility toward climbing performance Goal To attest the validity of specific tests of flexibility in climbing Method 202 subjects were measured, of this number 136 were men 176,8 cm ± 8,9 cm tall and weighing in at 68,9 kg ± 12,0 kg and 66 were women 168,2 cm ± 15,2 cm tall and weighing in at 62,8 kg ± 13,1 kg. Specific flexibility was measured through three tests: bent knee foot raise test, straight knee foot raise test and foot loading test. The degree of validity of tests has been expressed by the correlation between the climbing performance and the results of the specific flexibility tests. Results All the tests were showing medium dependence to the climbing performance with the correlating coefficient values being: bent knee foot raise test r=0,49, foot loading test r=0,49 straight knee foot raise test r=0,44. These correlating coefficients were calculated from the relative values of test results by averaging the left and right foot results and dividing the resulting number by the height of the subject. Summary Tests used are a suitable indicator of climbing specific flexibility. Keywords Validity, flexibility, sport climbing
