Digital oscilloscope with AVR
Stejskal, Martin ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Friedl, Martin (advisor)
The aim was got acquainted with microcontrolers from ATMEL family and study on wthat principes works analog and digital osciloscopes. On base of this informations, block design was made of digital osciloscope with microcontroler ATMEL from family AVR. The following chapters were look for a solution of input circuits with A/D convertor, witch transform analog signal to digital. Then, the digital signal is processed another circuits. Extended part of this work is software, witch must also controll data protocols and data security.
The flow of magnetic liquid with Bingham model application
Stejskal, Jan ; Krausová, Hana (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
Main topic of this thesis are magnetic fluids. These are specific type of fluids which can simplistically be considered as Bingham fluids. Main issues regarding the magnetic fluids mentioned in this thesis are: rheological properties of the magnetic fluids, behaviour of the magnetic fluids and the use of the magnetic fluids in industrial applications. Main goal is to apply Binghams model on the the magnetic fluids assuming that this model can be applied with a good accuracy. Equations which describe behaviour of the Bingham fluids are constructed. Some assumptions which have to be respected to use this analytical equations for magnetic fluids are formulated. Flow of bingham fluid is analytically solved in some simplificated cases with consideration of laminar flow. Analytical results are confronted with numerical ones obtained from CFD software Fluent for the purpose of verification.
Remote control of FPGA-based embedded system
Král, Jan ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (referee) ; Kubíček, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor’s project looks into the development of a part of Digitizer embedded system. The design is focused on the usage of FPGA-based processor managing the remote control operations and on the achievement of the sufficient bitrate for transmitting data to the ethernet network. The project summarizes used solutions and evaluates their applicability in the developed system. Matching concepts of solved problems are designed properly; in most cases they associate positive properties of used solutions. The implementations of MicroBlaze processor system and chosen modules were performed into the target device and the desired characteristics were measured with successful outcome.
The influence of welding parameters on the quality and mechanical properties of the weld joint
Vlach, Jan ; Stejskal, Ondřej (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The Master´s thesis focuses on the possibilities of using MAG welding on carbon steel 1.1221(C60E) without using preheating. It researches the effect of basic welding parameters on the final characteristics with the goal being to find a welding seam without defects, without using preheating.
Compensation for damage caused by wild animals
Tichý, Ján ; Fabšíková, Tereza (advisor) ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (referee)
Compensation for damage caused by wild animals Abstract This thesis deals with the comparison of the institutes of compensation for damages caused by wild animals within the legislation of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic. The common denominator of these institutes is the fact that the object that caused the damage (i.e. the wild animal) has no legal owner, it is res nullius. Therefore, the legislators in the compared legal systems created these institutes in order to avoid the 'unregulated' hunting of the animals in question. The thesis consists of four main parts, in the first part I discuss the theoretical background, definitions used in different legal systems and their equivalents. In turn, I define terms such as animal, animal, game, wild animal, specially protected animal, designated animal, and so on, depending on which term is used by which legislator. The first part is thus the theoretical basis for the following parts of the thesis The second and third parts are largely similar, as I have kept their system of treatment as similar as possible. The second part contains a detailed analysis of the Act on the Provision of Compensation for Damages and the Hunting Act (to the extent that it regulates compensation for damage caused by game). In this part, I analyse the legal regulation of these...
Forensic analysis of handwriting for the Czech environment using artificial intelligence
Stejskal, Jan ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
The analysis of handwriting is an important area of research in modern science. However, it is a very complex process because handwritten text can take on various forms. The use of artificial intelligence for analyzing and identifying text from different authors is nothing new in the world. Research in this area is, however, slightly lagging behind in the Czech environment. For this reason, several convolutional network architectures were proposed and compared in this work in an effort to find the most suitable structure for solving this problem. Of all the trained and tested models, the model based on the ResNet18 architecture achieved the highest accuracy, with a success rate of 92.2 % on a self-made database of 1328 samples with a resolution of 750x256. This result suggests that with a sufficiently large and high-quality database, the problem can be solved even in the Czech environment with its more complicated character set.
Assessment of drought response in local Scots pine ecotypes using anatomical, biochemical, and fluorescence stress markers.
Štěpánová, Kristýna ; Lhotáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Stejskal, Jan (referee)
Global climate change and associated global warming is already a problem for temperate forest ecosystems and will continue to exacerbate the problem in the coming decades. Many species will have to adapt to a multifactorial combination of stresses, with increases in average air temperature, frequency and intensity of precipitation increasing drought episodes and drought-affected areas will enlarge. It is necessary to find ways to help the landscape cope with these intensifying phenomena. The possibility of planting suitable tree species that can manage water efficiently and survive even in periods of intense water scarcity is an option. The drought tolerance of trees is related to their phenotypic plasticity and ecotypic differentiation. Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is characterised by modest ecological demands on the environment and climate of the habitat, is phenotypically plastic and relatively drought resistant. The objectives of this study were 1) to evaluate and compare the response of different Scots pine ecotypes to drought stress due to reduced water availability using anatomical, biochemical, and fluorescence indicators of physiological status, and 2) to determine the biochemical phenotype of selected genotypes within a local Scots pine ecotype in a seed orchard in terms of...
Fumigation methods of wood to control invasive cermabycid beetles from then genus invazním Anoplophora sp.
Stejskal, Václav ; Hnátek, Jonáš ; Vokněr, Jan ; Vendl, Tomáš ; Kadlec, Jakub ; Aulický, Radek
Longhorn beetles Anoplophora glabripennis and Anoplophora chinensis are quarantine pests of woody plants, which are, among other routes, spread in wooden pallets and packaging. The methodology describes the effective application of EDN(R) (active substance ethanedinitrile) in the treatment of wooden packaging and untreated wood in order to reduce the risk of the introduction of invasive species of wood-destroying pests (Anoplophora spp.) into the Czech Republic. Quarantine fumigation with methyl bromide is banned in the EU, and the alternative method of heat treatment (ISMP 15) is logistically demanding and cannot be performed in containers or under tarpaulin. The specific objective of the methodology is to provide a technical description of the procedure for the effective application (under tarpaulin / in a container) of EDN(R) to control longhorn beetles A. glabripennis and A. chinensis; the methodology is also prepared as a basis for the possible need for a rapid emergency regulation (ÚKZÚZ - CISTA) for the use in the Czech Republic of Anoplophora spp. longhorn beetles. Another goal is to give a brief overview and evaluation of methods and used products for phyto-quarantine wood treatment in comparison with the new procedure. The methodology is based on original experimental data, which was the basis for determining effective doses of EDN; the doses were expressed as the so-called Ctproduct of concentration and time. Ct- EDN products were determined to a large extent on the model species of longhorn beetle Hylotrupes bajulus (so-called adequate / analogous model species), and then validated for both target species of quarantine longhorn beetles A. glabripennis and A. chinensis. The methodology presents technical specifications and the use of application equipment for the application of liquefied EDN from cylinders using nitrogen as a propellant.
