History of University Artistic Company
Kolda, Martin ; Němečková, Elvíra (advisor) ; Kubicová, Ivanka (referee)
The University Company of Modern Dance (hereinafter referred to as VUS) was founded in September 1961 and originally arrised from a folk dance group of the University. This amateur company was initially composed of students and teachers whose aim was to find new and innovative forms of artistic expression. With the arrival of František Pokorný to the company, the group began to work with dance students from dance conservatory. But those all droped out when Pokorny left his post as Artistic Director. Sylva Zackova, next to be appointed as an Artistic Director, was trying to keep the company active. With the arrival of Jiri Rebec, the structure of the company changed. In addition to the main company, there was also created a foundation group, which suppose to prepare new members for VUS. At that time, the group experienced a great significance from working with 2 teachers / choreographers: Ivanka Kubicová and Jan Hartmann, who returned to Czechoslovakia from studies at the London Contemporary Dance School. In 1977, the remaining two components of VUS (singing and dancing departments) came under the auspices of The Charles University and the group performed under the name VUS UK. After the separation of the dancing and singing department, VUS began to use the name Dance Center UK, which continued to operate as a modern dance group. Another change occurred on the 18th May 1989, when the modern dance group changed its name to the Dance Theatre Prague, effectively extinguished the original company.

Kalousková, Hana ; Kubicová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Wiesner, Daniel (referee)
My diploma thesis is focused on a French education system with a special view of dance education and education of dance teachers. I tried to compare this special education system with the Czech education system. Thesis is divided into tree parts. In the first one I summarize the current form of the French education system. I mentioned the major laws that govern its present form and general organisation. In the next under-chapter I described the most important point in the French education, which is ?baccalauréat? ? graduation. In the next one I analysed the current form of the French dance education. I have focused on a semi-professional level of dance education, which is provided by ?Conservatoire à rayonnement régional? and ?Conservatoire à rayonnement départemental?, as well as on institutions that educate future dance professionals. Creation of the diploma DNSP was one of the most important moments in the French education system. DNSP should provide assurance and public awareness of the dance profession. Further I have described in detail the conditions for the study of the dance pedagogy and for obtaining the diploma dance teacher, which is essential for teaching dance at the French schools. In the second part of my thesis I have focused on a Czech education system. I mentioned the significant historic moments, its current form and in the special under-chapter I described the Czech dance education, which is provided on a semi-professional level by the primary arts schools and I also analysed the professional Czech dance education. In the last part I compared both of the education systems. I have highlighted the positives and negatives and I tried to identify possible steps that would contribute to build the ideal system of dance education.
Dance in basic school
Ratajová, Olga ; Kubicová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Eliášová, Bohumíra (referee)
In my graduation thesis I focused on different ways of integration of dance into elementary school education. One of the ways is integrated elementary school and the basic school of arts where children can get after passing the talent exams and they are obliged to attend dance lessons for next nine years. This kind of schooling is for hand-picked children only. The second possibility is the Dance for schools project of "Tanec Praha" organisation and Dance and Motoric education - new subject in Framework Education Programme (government education framework). Those are the two ways of education of children from the first to the fifth grades where all children are attending Dance lessons. Main aim of my graduation thesis is research into beginnings and raelization of both ways. I interviewed not only dance teachers but also elementary schools headmasters. I was interested in teacher´s work with children and their contemporary results.

During my studies at the Duncan Centre Conservatory I took thanks to Eva Blažíčková many interesting information and gained new stimuli for my further activities in the dance area. So I have tried to do a small research about creative meaning of Eva Blažíčková and her pedagogical activities at the Duncan Centre Conservatory.
