Zabývá se také otázkou budoucnosti tanečníků a přípravy na ni.In the first part of this diploma thesis, we discuss the definition of the concept of "musical", and explore its development in the world and Czech environment. We also touch on other genres and the musical´s predecessors. As well, we focus on the development of the musical before and after 1989 in Czech. The second part is composed of a qualitative research on Czech musical dancers. It goes over questions about their preparation for a dance career and their relationship to dance, but mostly emphasizes on their association with musicals. Additionally, it clarifies the reasons for a musical career, production quality, and advantages, disadvantages and prestige of the job. The thesis is concluded by discussing the time of leaving a career in dance.
