Štancl, Michal ; Ludvíková, Iveta (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The thesis deals in its first part with the urban design of the brownfield site in Brno in the Old Brno district. The analytical part deals with the issue of the zoning of urban plan and the results of the Mendel Square architectural competition. The proposed urban solution is based on a traditional block of flats combined with a solitaire and defines various public spaces. In the second part, the architectural design of a typical block and four multifunctional apartment buildings in it is proposed.

NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner
Urminská, Barbora ; Mikulášek, David (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
It was one of main points of the project to design a viable building which would fit in the locality on the corner of Bratislavská and Stará street. Project of a polyfunctional but mainly residential object is a logical result. Shape of the building flows from two ideas: to close blank space on the corner but also to keep a part of place open, to be used as a public space which the locality lacks. That is why the height and front facade position links to both neighbouring objects. Yet on the corner, in front of the theatre, the building rises to height of two storeys so the corner stays free and usable as a public space.

There is very atractive view from the site towards the castle and old town of Přerov. I came up with two main masses - horizontal and vertical. In the vertical mass there are offices, horizontla contains luxury housing. Under theses two masses is commerce.
