Effect of Hippo Rehabilitation od the Biological, Psychological and Social Components of Children with a Health Handicap in Relation with the Impact on School Success

The aim of this thesis is to map the effect of hippo rehabilitation on a change in school evaluation, interpersonal communication, behaviour and skills of the pupils with a health handicap. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part summarizes necessary information about hippo rehabilitation as a whole and its usability in treatment of disorders and diseases. In the first chapter, a brief history of hippo rehabilitation and its emergence as a treatment method is presented; followed by definitions of terms, division and characterization of the individual disciplines. The following part is devoted to the healing effect of hippo rehabilitation on both physical and psychological components of a human being, through the impact of specific and non-specific factors of the therapy. The third part describes the way the hippo rehabilitation is carried out in practice, as well as the conditions necessary for its performance. The healing effects and mechanisms of the individual disciplines are also dealt with. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with hippo rehabilitation in terms of its effect on human functions and characteristics that influence school success. Psychosis and school reality, how to learn with psychosis

The subject of this thesis is difficulties with return to studies and the strategies of coping these situations of young people with serious mental illness. The theoretical part introduces the issue schizophrenia. It describes the difficulties and the deficits that arise in the person's life due to the illness. In detail, I explain the coping strategies of these people, the concept of early prevention and therapy of mentall illness and the international examples of supported education of people with schizophrenia. The practical part consists of five case studies of young people with psychosis who decided to return to their school life. The main issue of interest is finding the difficulties, that can appear in the process of the return, and especially tracking the strategies of coping the sdifficulties. As following, there is a wider picture of coping strategies discussed, the similarities and differences between the strategies of these five people explored and described strategies are related to the individual's studying success. Aggression and self-esteem

In the research we focus on problems of self-esteem and aggress. The aim was to discover and describe if by university students an important relation between self-esteem and aggress exists, if there are some differences in self-esteem and aggress between women and men and individuals with pedagogical and non-pedagogical professional polarization. The self-esteem was followed on different levels- general, low, medium and high level as well as aggress levels. Besides general aggress we followed the relation of self-esteem towards physical aggress, verbal aggress, hostility and anger. The results confirmed among others the presumption about relation between self-esteem a'id aggress, especially between self-esteem and hostility. The results of the research also subsidize the presumption about an existence of significant difference between women and men in self-esteem and aggress, they do not subsidize the presumption of difference between groups with pedagogical and non- pedagogical professional polarization in self-esteem and aggress. The influence of school on pupils with hearing impairment

A change of a school and its influence on pupils with grave hearing impairment is the topic of this thesis. For these pupils, a transfer to a different kind of school (i.e. from an ordinary to a specialized one or vice versa) can be a source of serious consequences influencing their entire personality. Many things differ at these schools - the environment, the type of communication, the classmates. A child that is integrated to an ordinary school is usually the only hard-of-hearing pupil in the school. On the contrary, all the students at a specialised school are similar and the teachers are experienced in treatment of such children. Specific needs of disabled students are met in communication and the whole process of education. The disadvantage of these schools is that they are only in big towns and children from distant villages and towns are often at a boarding house during the week. The aim of this thesis is to describe how a change of school was retrospectively perceived by those who had experienced it themselves. I have focused especially on the following areas: how the respondents went through the change of a school, how they felt at both schools and how the change has influenced their identity.
Mother Teacher

This final paper is focused on finding out how being a mother affects working as a teacher and vice versa. The thesis revolves around the question: Does the role of a mother have some influence on being a teacher? Another focus of this paper is the satisfaction of women in teaching positions and a variety of other aspects of teaching professionally. This paper also demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of teaching and a woman's satisfaction of the career they have chosen. The methods employed in this paper are interviews of four teachers whom are also mothers of grammar school students. These interviews showed how these respondents perceive a connection between their private and professional life and also illustrate the positives and negatives of teaching. During this discussion all of the answers of respondents are compared to each other. The results of the research is explained in the summary.
Pupils' causal attributions after success and failure

The topic of this dissertation is the attribution tendencies of secondary school students in situations of success or failure. The process of attributing causes was examined by inquiring into past experience (attribution in the past) in the context of students' school activities. Grades were chosen as the criterion of success and failure. Attribution tendencies were examined in all subjects taught at the secondary school. Attitudes to individual subjects were sought to constitute specific attitude constellations and the attribution tendencies ot students were re-examined in these constellations. The study also partly focused on teachers. We wanted to know their views on the possible causes of success or failure of the students they taught.
Perception of Education in a Family with a Drug-Addicted Child - The Influences of Family Education

The thesis deals with a problém of drug abuse by children and adolescents and monitors the factors which can play a role in the origin of their addiction. It especially focuses on the role of family background which is observed as a part of the broad environment that influences the whole family systém. Besides this the personality factors which affect the occurance of addictive behaviour are also monitored; particularly the ones which are specific for the drug addiction of young people and which distinguishes it from the drug addiction of adults. It points out such changes in character and behaviour of the youngsters that can be signals for the others that something is wrong. It mentions the influence of their peers and searches for the reasons why the young people tend to simulate the actions in a socially deviant community. Analysing the family background we can understand how the different lifestyles of families can influence a tendency of the adolescents to hunt for drugs. The interest is aimed at a socially psychological organization of the family, a family typology and the qualities of family systems, especially their problematical fiinctioning. Obesity in childhood

The main goal of this essay called "Obesity in childhood" deals with introduction into this relevant question. The main part will concentrate on the obesity above child and adolescent population. This essay should give the basic global information about the problem, possible accesses of therapy and today critical state of the theme too. One chapter of this study will deals with meaning of breastfeeding. The next part of thesis will be about the development of individual's lifestyle and boarding behaviour throughout early childhood. I would like to point out the main preventive and interventive approaches as well. One of significant parts of the thesis, the practical part, will conduct outcomes of an empirical probe about meaning and attitudes about obese individuals and obesity itself and about individual's fat phobia. The results of today's boarding and lifestyle of the population of Czech children will also be mentioned. I would like to show actual characterisation of Family Weight Reducing Course clients. All these characterisation will lead into valorisation of our situation here in Czech Republic. This will lead into possibility to propose some further preventive, interventional and therapeutic progresses in the fight with child and adolescent obesity. Primary prevention of drug use focused on minority groups of inhabitants in the context of foreign experience with special emphasis on inspiration drawn from Dutch-speaking countries,particularly from Belgium

The thesis deals with the theme of primary prevention of the use of addictive substances, and of specifically primary prevention of the use of addictive substances focused on minority groups of inhabitants. In the theoretical part of the thesis, there are assembled both foreign and Czech studies relating to the theme of primary prevention of the use of addictive substances. On the basis of these studies there are introduced and described basic thematic groups that can be referred to while dealing with primary prevention of the use of addictive substances. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis discusses concepts relating to minority groups of inhabitants, explains basic conceptions connected with the theme, pays attention to minority groups of inhabitants living in the Czech Republic, and characterizes research focused on drug use and prevention of drug use among diverse minority groups of inhabitants in various parts of the world. The practical part of the thesis illuminates concepts used by experts on primary prevention of the use of addictive substances to explain the essence of primary prevention. Included are also conceptions and opinions of people engaged in primary prevention, which should be realized in a group of children coming from minority groups of inhabitants. In conclusion...
