Kotoulková, Leona ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Sobotka, Jindřich (advisor)
This work contains technical drawings, architectural design and architectural detail of the Multifunctional house in Brno, Líšeň district. Basis for this design was taken from my student work of 6. semester. The design is mainly inspired by construction system - module frame container system by Intecom company. The intent is to make the best use of the profile of the terrain, which descends steeply. The building also responds to surrounding prefab developement and to the Novolíšeňská road, which stands for one of the busiest in Brno. The acces to the plot is situated on the opposite side from the road. This driveway is separated from the ascending main road by the supporting wall. A few parking places are situated there. There is also a bus stop in near vicinity, thanks to which is possible to reduce automobile transportation. The building is divided into three blocks. Main two with flats and third, ground-floor, between them serves as a pastry shop. These two main blocks are identical and each of them is axially symmetrical. Each block has four floors, three above and one under ground. A block contains four maisonette flats, four garages, two offices of individual use and shared middle connecting part. The middle connecting part is inspired by a greenhouse. The pavement here is reduced and mostly replaced by grassed floor, which can be used for growing plants. This whole part is sheltered by semipermeable fiberglass. The front-side of the building is covered by light facade Polycon, which also covers the whole front slanted part of the roof. The rest of the building is covered by galvanized trapezoid sheet of tin.

In my bachelor´s study I deal with a new building for Multifunctional House in Brno on the Táborska´s street in Brno Židenice. The design comes out from filling the gap on the Táborská street and Letní street, urbanist regulatives, and the needs of the people living in this part of the city. The object´s form is designed to tie together with the local residental houses. My effort went towards using the structural gap to its full potential. The facade of the object is formed by wooden slats from Siberian larch which enhances the feeling of a compact mass. The object also contains public functions with were non-existing in the area until now: cafe and fitness centrum. Parterre in the 1st LVL allows the passage to the court part of the building where outdoor terrace cafes is. The rest of the overground floors are used as housing space. The housing itself is made by flats the maisonettes. This is why we was able to save part flooring covering for housing.

Polyfunctional Building is situated on the corner of Milady Horákové street and Francouzská street in the city district Brno-Zábrdovice. Building has three main functional parts – commercial and gallery spaces on the street level, office spaces on the second floor, which are accessible from the inner courtyard and housing part which is situated on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. The most important part of the design is the creation of inner courtyard. Level of the courtyard is same as the level of second floor. Courtyard is accessible from Francouzská street through the passage. Courtyard is relaxing and transfer place for housing and office parts of the building. Facade is white color and with irregular placement of high windows. Windows are placed according to the space arrangement of each flat. Glass wall and high corner windows are dominant parts of the corner. Parking is situated inside the building on the same level as public road. Automated parking system under the ground level is part of the parking capacity. There is no significant building in close distance. The building is placed according to existing street lines, height of the building is same as height of surrounding buildings. Thanks to its dimensions and design, Polyfunctional building should become very important element of the Milady Horákové street.

The aim of this thesis is to design a new residential building in the locality Brno- Lesná. The building plot stands in the middle of three different urban units. Firstly, Lesna housing estate consisting mainly of eight-floor prefabricated blocks of flats. Secondly, the Divisova colony consisting mainly of low rise houses and two-storey family houses. Lastly, directly linked structure, newly built blocks of flats with terrace north of the building plots. These are seven-story buiding, where the first two floors the garage occupy and the additional five floors are flats. Another important factor affecting the design is the nature of the lot, which slopes to the west, and creates very interesting views of Brno, especially the Spilberk castle and Cathedral Sant Peter and Paul. The design seeks to build on the surrounding buildings and create a transition between the low-rise buildings Divis colony and housing development Lesna and terraced houses. This is achieved by using a gradation of cubic masses from single-storey houses to the five-story residential building. Optimizing of space for each flat or villa house was achieved by rotating the individual, which also ensures the uniqueness of flats and their orientation and views of city centre.

The building is designed as a compact mass and is completed with triangular cantilevers that are carried by an oblique pillar - it passes of every story of the building. This enabled to create open corner, which generates many vistas. There are public amenities on the first floor - rentable space (accessible through interior passage or exterior), café is designed on the second floor. There is also administration and flats - this is common for second, third and fourth floor, the fifth floor is only flats. The object of this bachelor thesis is new building solution of a multifunctional house founded on the corner of the streets Táborská and Letní in the district Židenice of city Brno. The design is based on using a vacant lot, urban regulations, the needs for creation of student housing and the needs of residents of the particular district. The form of the object is designed in a way which abides the mass structure of the territory and also the spatial plan of city of Brno. The main aim was to use the vacant lot in the best way possible. The suggested object is divided in two functional units which this particular locality lacked and are based on structural possibilities. The public unit situated on the outer part of the object has the form of fully glazed facade, whereas the part intended for housing can be identified for the use of company Intecon galvanized copper plated trapezodial steel sheet residential containers. The area of the first floor parterre is lowered by one meter below the ground level because of a sports center with a bouldering wall. Other overground storeys consisting of residential containers operate as a place for sudent housing. Individual apartments are formed by the combination of two student rooms. The kitchen and dining room are located in the common areas on each floor of the building. The idea of materially spatial resolution is based on rotation of the cuboid residential containers by ninety degrees which allows them to fit together in a way that creates an atrium in the middle. The atrium and the sports areas are therefore lit by the accomodation areas.

Bachelor’s thesis deals with technical drawings of Multifunctional building in Brno. The aim is to design an apartment building consisting of residential apartments in the sloping area between two streets - Novolíšeňská and Josefy Faimonové in Brno - Líšeň. The proposal follows the contours of the slope and its floors are terraced beneath each other. On the top of the slope from Novolíšeňská street there is proposed a garage and a bakery with café. These two buildings would be unified with a facade made of the expanded metal sheets (with a climbing greenery), which eliminates the harmful effects from a neighboring road. In the terraces, there would be situated residential containers, which would lie on the reinforced slabs and the gabion walls (behind the walls there is proposed a storage space). The complex would consist of two volumes with the residential containers. Between the volumes, there is designed a space with the exterior residential steps. The 3 types of flats were designed: one-bedroom flat, two-bedroom flat and three-bedroom flat.

Šrubařová, Jana ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Hradil, Dušan (advisor)
Multifunctional building is situated on the corner of a city block and connected to the existing buildings. It lies between the streets Křenová, New avenue and Skořepka. Near land is situated water flow Ponávka. Architectonically and artistically it is the two curved formations opening towards the water course Ponávka , connected to other low curved object with a green roof. Individual curves are trying to correspond as with the street New avenue, as with building boundary line of the streets Křenová, Skořepka and Vlhká. South building exceeds the north building because of the continuation to the existing buildings. With taking away material, because of better insolation, are created terraces. The facade is designed from a lightweight siding that allows a playful combination of a glazed surfaces of windows with gray fill in an aluminium raster of structure. In the eastern part in front of building is designed an area with a greenery and access roads for pedestrians. All pedestrian routes outside the building are paved. In the patio of a building is a sculpture around which benches are placed.

Student Apartment Building
Vodička, Jan ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
Four-storey student apartment building fills a corner vacant lot in a compact city block. It’s placed on a busy street. Situating a café and a shop in the ground floor and a main entrance facing a tram stop is beneficial both for attracting passing people and for an easy access of residents. The volume composition is based on an analysis of the surroundings. It keeps the local height-level of the highest apartment buildings. There is a school-building right next door which has been kept in spatial dominance. The volume of the building is created with two intersecting blocks, each with different height – this creates a psychological tension in the corner position. The façades composition is based on two levels of scale; one is derived from a typical old apartment buildings’ window size and the second has its origin in the neighbouring school built in functionalistic style. There is a glass suspended façade preventing noise from outside to come in. It has a great impact on the building’s architecture. The building exterior is monochromatic with an exception of a few red-painted anchors holding the glass façade. The student apartment building’s design emphasizes a social contact between the residents. These can meet in a backyard, in a common room in ground floor, in a multilevel lounge with access to a roof terrace or simply on an exterior gallery connecting their flats.
