Local characterization of electronic devices
Müller, Pavel ; Škarvada, Pavel (referee) ; Tománek, Pavel (advisor)
The development of micro and nanoelectronics and nanophotonics needs novel characterization techniques to ensure higher quality of designed devices. The thesis describes a use of Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy (SNOM) in dimensional control and in local investigation of diverse physical parameters. As example of its potential, the correlation between object topography and reflection measurement of capacitors is shown.
Virtualization for the x86 platform
Müller, Pavel ; Kyselý, František (referee) ; Pelka, Tomáš (advisor)
A thesis describes a virtualization of x86 platform. In the first part the virtualization, its utilization and specific types of virtualization are described in a general way. The specific types of virtualization are full virtualization, paravirtualization, virtualization on core level, hardware virtualization and application virtualization. There is also described a general function of virtual machine, reasons of virtualization implementing, current development, focusing on future development and virtualization security. In the second part the thesis tries to find a solution with establishment charges of virtualization. To test purposes the following software programs were used. The first one is freeware benchmark Sandra from SiSoft company and second one is a software created on the basis of the thesis. For the tests the CPU overhead both an arithmetic-logical unit and a unit for work with numbers and floating decimal point, a RAM data transmission efficiency and a hard disk logging rate were chosen. The following test machines were described: VMWare, VirtualBox and Xen. In the third and the last part of the thesis is a description of network interface virtualization methods with a utilization of tun and tap system. In each particular step a virtual network interface creation and implementation are presented. Model situations of communication among virtual and physical machines with usage of these devices are described at the end of the thesis.
The Right to a Fair Trial
Müller, Pavel ; Reschová, Jana (advisor) ; Antoš, Marek (referee)
The aim of this theses is "The Right to a Fair Trial." I approach this topic both as a juridicial institute, where I describe it's content, and a philosophical - moral principle which should, in my opinion, run through the whole legal proceedings. (Among other things), my personal experience in a civil legal proceeding drove me to write this theses. On account of this experience I started to ask myself whether everyone is really entitled to the right to a fair trial and if the principle is really functional and running through the whole legal process or it's just a theoretical concept, more or less executed in a legal process. Comparison as objective as possible of a fair trial concept to the real state of this right's protection is one of the main aims of the thesis. Not just a confrontation between vision and reality, but also a proposal of their converging. In the first part of the theses I present a brief description of material and formal sources of information regarding the right to a fair trial from both the Czech and European point of view. In the second part I present a summary of works dealing with this topic in the Czech Republic which have been published so far. In the third part I theoretically elaborate partial principles of this right. In the fourth, and the last part of this thesis...

Minimum Quantity Lubrication in Reaming

The role of ICT in delivering sustainable development
Müller, Pavel ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Basl, Josef (referee)
This thesis is focused on the issue of ensuring sustainable development through ICT, especially focusing on the subsequent use of the theoretical knowledge in the implementation of Green ICT practices in small and medium-sized companies in the Czech Republic (SME). This work aims to achieve five specific side objectives, which are: Theoretical anchoring the Green ICT in relation to SME, the analysis of the potential impact of ICT on environmental sustainability, analysis of the available methodologies and ways of implementation of Green ICT and principles of sustainability, rating of Green ICT steps from different perspectives in order to select appropriate steps for the implementation and subsequent determination of methodical progress with implementing the most Green ICT steps into practice. Reaching these milestones is subsequently indicated achieve the main objective of the paper, which is a specification of a methodological framework for the selection and evaluation of appropriate Green ICT steps and a procedure for its subsequent implementation in practice. The primary tool for achieving the objectives of this paper is analysis of available and adequate current information resources focusing on the Green ICT and sustainable development, which is complemented by the author's expert reviews of Green ICT steps. This paper is possible to divide into two parts. The first part is contents of thoroughly analysis of information sources and based on them is subsequently implemented theoretical grasp of Green ICT. The second part is then specified own benefit of the paper through analysis and evaluation of Green ICT steps, accompanied by their methodology implementation.
Description and comparison of biometric methods in IT
Müller, Pavel ; Balada, Jakub (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
The main objectives of this work are the elaboration of the basic facts and principles of the field of biometric identification as a basis for further introduction of five selected biometric techniques (fingerprints, hand geometry, face, voice and eye iris) and consequently also their evaluation and selection of the most promising methods based on four selected summary of the evaluation criteria (cost, reliability, security level and other criteria). Which itself will be done on the basis of facts presented throughout the work and will be designed in such a way that it can be used even in case of choosing of biometric identification method for specific use in practice.
