Analysis of vehicle damage in collisions with road safety barriers
Berka, Jan ; Kaluža, Zdeněk (referee) ; Tokař, Stanislav (advisor)
The theme of this thesis is the analysis of vehicle damage, which was caused by a collision with road safety barriers. The theoretical part describes the guardrail, their classification, structure, process design and methods of their testing, including criteria that must be met. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the safety of vehicles in relation to the body structure and its material composition. The last chapter in this section is focused on the process of insurance companies in solving their clients' loss events. The second (practical) part is focused on defining the criteria that are important for the determination of certain facts in question accident. These criteria were drawn up based on the requirements of insurance companies while they were processed catalog. This catalog is the result of the work, which describes the happening of insured events, their assessment according to predefined criteria and estimate, if it is a plot manipulated insured or not. It can also be beneficial to insurance companies, which can be used as an aid in dealing with loss events.
Planning the construction contract by the contractor
Dáňa, Tomáš ; Berka, Jan (referee) ; Nový, Martin (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the process of planning the costs of a contract for construction. The thesis describes the pricing, contract for construction, construction time models, and allocation of costs during the construction. It introduces a particular contract for construction, which is analysed mainly with regard to the allocation of costs during the construction. The thesis introduces also alternative solutions for the allocation of costs during the construction. The purpose of the thesis is to compare the alternative solutions with the reality, and analyse the allocation of costs during the construction.

Jeroným Mine near Čistá (Lauterbach): the current state of understanding and an update of geological research
Berka, Josef ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor) ; Matějka, Dobroslav (referee)
The Jeroným Mine near Čistá is a typical locality of Central European historical mining. Preserved mining areas bearing the signs of the original mining methods are the subject of the monument protection and museum exposition. The mining of tin at the Jeroným Mine, according to preserved sources, dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. The paper summarizes the geological conditions of the wider area of the Slavkov Forest and the context of the Čistá deposit. We will outline the history of mining at the Jeroným Mine and its historical significance.
Epitachophoretic separation and concentration of large volume samples
Voráčová, Ivona ; Foret, František ; Datinská, Vladimíra ; Novotný, Jakub ; Gheibi, P. ; Berka, J. ; Astier, Y.
There has been a growing interest in developing isotachophoretic protocols for concentration and purification of DNA as an alternative to the solid phase extraction protocols of DNA preparation. Also concentration of DNA from large volume samples is required. We have developed a new device suitable for separation, concentration and collection of ions from several milliliter sample volumes into microliter fractions. We have used a discontinuous electrolyte system comprising of the leading and terminating electrolytes utilized for concentration of samples containing DNA fragments. The method is simple, fast with high concentration factor and without extensive surface interactions.
The geological evolution of the Vienna basin and interpretation of seismic profiles across the western margin of the basin
Hlaváčková, Šárka ; Fischer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Berka, Jiří (referee)
The geological evolution of the Vienna basin and interpretation of seismic profiles across the western margin of the basin Abstract The Vienna basin represents an example of a Neogene pull-apart basin developed between two orogenic systems - the Eastern Alps and West Carpathians. Their different Miocene geodynamic played the key role in opening of the basin. The pull-apart mechanism was significantly influenced by a rotation in the Middle Miocene. This thesis summarize the geodynamic development of the basin with regard to Tertiary evolution of the wider Carpathian - Panonnian area and paleomagnetic description of a rotation of ALCAPA unit. The Lower Miocene basin is superimposed on stack of nappes of the Alpine - Carpathian thrust belt. It was formed as a piggy-back basin on the top of overthrusted nappes. During the Karpathian, a new tectonic settings was established, due to the change of geodynamics within the Alpine - Carpathian area. In the Badenian, the important NE - SW trending faults were developed. The Steinberg and Schrattenberg synsedimentary faults considerably participated in the formation of the west margin of the Vienna basin, and controlled a deposition of the Neogene sedimentary fill, reaching a maximum thickness of 5500 m. In my undergraduate thesis, I target the local development of the...
Context of macroeconomic development and energy sector in the Czech Republic and Austria in the period 2000 - 2012
Berka, Jan ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Ševčíková, Michaela (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to verify a connection between macroeconomic development and energy sector. This connection is examined with the data from the Czech Republic and with the data from Austria, both in the years 2000 - 2012. The theoretical part describes energetics as a natural monopoly and a resource of externalities. It includes the theory of monitoring the business cycle and financial analysis of companies. The first half of the practical part compares macroeconomic development of the Czech Republic and the ČEZ group. The similar comparison is made with Austria and the Verbund company. Second half of the practical part explains how economic policies influence the Czech energetics. This impact is being studied in terms of legislation, regulations, monetary and fiscal policy. The practical part ends with rating and valuation of costs that arise from the main energy resources. The link between energetics and macroeconomic development was discovered and proved thanks to the doubled analysis used in the thesis.
